Kelly Clarkson on X Factor Australia

Ξ October 17th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Kelly Clarkson, Music, Video |

Kelly Clarkson has gone on the promotional route in support of her latest single “Mr. Know it All”, which comes off of her upcoming album that’s set to be released on October 24th. The American Idol alum went over to Australia to perform on this past Wednesday’s episode of X Factor. The pop singer was absolutely flawless in her performance. I just can’t get tired of watching her do live renditions of “Mr. Know it All”. And I have to say, Kelly is looking more and more fabulous each day. I wonder if she’s working out in preparation for a rigorous tour once her album comes out.

Natalia Kills celebrated the US release of her debut album “Perfectionist” last week with an intimate acoustic performance atop the roof of the Atlas Hotel in New York City. The British singer/songwriter sang her heart out! Natalia slays everyone with her songs “Free”, her new US singler, “Wonderland”, my favorite in her whole album”, and “Love is a Suicide”. She wore an elegant outfit for the occasion and I think she delivered one of her best live shows to date. I loved the theatrics too! Grab her album now, and catch her on her current US club tour and on select dates of Katy Perry’s current California Dreams tour.

Smirnoff Vodka is working with Madonna on a new promotion that could very well choose a new backup dancer for the Queen of Pop’s upcoming tour. The promotion, called the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project, will try to get 10 million people in 50 countries to swap nightlife stories on their Facebook page. Some winners will be chosen to attend one of 50 parts on November 12 where Madonna herself will be in attendance. The singer will be on the lookout for some pretty awesome dancers who will compete for her attention and later participate in a dance off. The winner could very well be chosen to become a dancer on her next tour. So who has some interesting nightlife stories to share?

Kimberley Walsh Confirms Girls Aloud Reunion

Ξ August 17th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ News, Singers |

Although it’s not definite yet, I’m encouraged to find out that Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh recently revealed in an interview that the British pop band will in fact reunite in 2012 for a new 10-year anniversary tour. Kimberley said “I’d like to do more acting, but, to be honest, being in the band has surpassed everything I ever dreamed of doing with my life. The girls will have been together for ten years next year and that’s definitely going to be celebrated with a tour. I can’t say any more until next year – but I’m really looking forward to it.” If that isn’t salivating information, I don’t know what is.

U2 Named Biggest Selling Band

For the second year in a row, U2 has been named the highest paid band by Forbes. Every year, the magazine releases a list of the 25 biggest-earning musicians. Acts that have gone on tour consistently throughout the year tend to make the top spots on the list and the rock band was no exception. U2 pulled it $195 million after bringing their 360 tour to a close, with the tour itself banking over $700 million. Coming in second was Bon Jovi, who made $125 million. Elton John came in third with $100 million. Lady Gaga earned $90 million and Michael Buble earned $70 million, to round out the top 5.

The R&B singer will also exclusively do promotional work through ad campaigns and appearances, specifically during the Brazilian leg of her tour. Rihanna said “Barbados is a place like no other and one of the reasons for this is the spirit and national pride of our people. I want each and every visitor to this beautiful island to experience what makes this destination different from all others and that is the spirit and warmth of my fellow Barbadians.”

As it was previously revealed, the pop singer’s set list consisted of 22 full songs, comprising of her huge back catalogue of hit music, going all the way to her first album “Baby… One More Time”. Of course, the concert was filled with new tracks from her “Femme Fatale” album as well, with the closing song being “Til the World Ends”. Britney also sang her hits “If You Seek Amy”, “Gimme More”, “I Wanna Go”, “Womanizer” and her new song “Lace and Leather”.

Britney Spears is getting a big surprise ready

Well, it won’t be so much of a surprise now that it’s already out, but still it is reason for excitement for all of Britney Spears’ fans out there. The singer has been getting ready for her upcoming “Femme Fatale” tour and has a few surprises ready for her fans, one of which is apparently a cover she is doing of Madonna’s “Burning Up”. A short clip of Britney Spears performing the song leaked on to the internet and it’s getting a lot of attention. This might just prove to be a very good boost for the ticket sales on Britney Spears’ new tour. And one has to wonder that when something leaks on the internet like this, why is it never the whole thing?

Katy Perry speaks about her new tour

Ξ June 8th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Concert, Katy Perry |

The singer seems to be very optimistic and excited about her upcoming tour and she wants to make her fans feel the same way. This is what Katy Perry had to say about her new tour: “It has room to grow. A typical tour is three months, but we’re going to the end of November. It’s nice to be able to expand and get out of the same same same. That’s the fun thing about success. I can take advantage of it. Now I can say, ‘I want a machine that simulates the whipped-cream boobs from the “California Gurls” video.’ I just want to keep things fresh, keep people on their toes and keep myself excited.” So Katy Perry’s fans have nothing but good things to look forward to from her upcoming tour. Maybe she’s even going to try and match Rihanna’s new stage perks.

Rihanna Kicks Off Tour

Rihanna kicked off her “Loud” world tour this past Saturday in Baltimore, Maryland. Among her exciting and lengthy set list, the R&B singer performed her brand new and controversial single “Man Down”. After the premiere of the music video for the song, the US Parents Television Council immediately went out to accuse Rihanna that the video was “an apparent enticement to young women to turn to violence”. She has since addressed the issue on BET’s 106 & Park and on Twitter. And to shut it all out, Rihanna did a killer performance of “Man Down” during her concert. Work it!

When asked to describe her new tour, this is what Taylor Swift said: “The tour is exactly how my imagination looks and I’m so excited that we get to have these entire scenes created on stage.” Well it seems that Taylor Swift’s imagination surely is an amazing place. If it hasn’t already, this is bound to get the ticket sales for her next shows up a bit… and with good reason.

The Black Eyed Peas performed their latest single “Don’t Stop the Party” on the French version of X Factor earlier this week. The performance was very entertaining to watch but I think it’s really ridiculous how much their vocals are edited. Besides showing some love to the hip hop band’s French fans and supporting the latest single from their album “The Beginning”, the Black Eyed Peas also visited channel M6’s hit talent show to get the hype going for their upcoming stadium tour in France. They will play on June 22, 24 and 25 at the Stade de France in Paris.

Blink 182 has announced on their website earlier this week that they have re-scheduled their European summer tour for next summer in order to finish the album. Through a statement on their website, the rock back wrote “It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce our planned 2011 European summer tour has been rescheduled. When we booked the tour last year, we were confident that we would have the new album out before the summer. Turns out we were mistaken as the album is taking longer than we thought and won’t be out till later this year. Rather than do another ‘greatest hits tour’ which you all saw last summer. The three of us are working very hard to do what we set out to do when we re-formed, get a new Blink-182 album recorded.” While it’s sad for their European fans, I think they made a smart move and hopefully, their new music would be worth the wait.

Enrique posted a message on his personal page saying “Hey guys, sorry for the confusion regarding a possible tour in the summer with Britney Spears. We are on the Euphoria tour and will continue to do so including some soon-to-be-announced dates in US. So hope to see all of you soon.” It seems like Enrique would rather headline his own tour than play second fiddle to Britney. What do you think?

Rihanna’s tour may not be doing so well in the US but she’s doing great in the UK. It has just been announced that the R&B singer will play a ninth concert at the O2 Arena in London , scheduled for December 22. The tickets have gone on sale today so make sure you snatch them up. If her ticket sales for the UK are anything to go by, they’re going to get sold out pretty quickly. If you’re one to keep count, Rihanna has now beat out pop star Britney Spears who managed to do eight shows at the O2 on her Circus tour.

Rihanna is having ticket sale problems

Ξ March 22nd, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Concert, Tickets Sale |

Things are apparently not going too well for Rihanna career-wise. It looks like the singer might just have to cancel her “Loud” tour because the ticket sales haven’t been all that good. This is what a source said about Rihanna’s current predicament: “It has been a big disappointment. The ticket sales in big U.S. cities like Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs. Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways.” Who would’ve thought that Rihanna would have problems of this sort? Maybe she might be able to take a few tips from Janet Jackson who was a real superstar when it came to ticket sales a little while back.

The pop singer and American Idol judge said “My next single I believe will be a song called I’m Into You and it’s gonna feature Lil Wayne, so look out for that. Major tours are currently expected from, among others, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Neil Diamond, the cast of ‘Glee’, Journey, Kid Rock, Kings Of Leon, Britney Spears and Sugarland.” Hopefully we’ll get an official announcement soon.

Rising star Jessie J has recently premiered the music video for her song “Price Tag”. It’s the singer’s second UK single and first US single to come off of her upcoming debut album “Who You Are”, which is due out on March 28th in the UK and April 12th in the US. The single features Atlanta rapper BoB. I love the lyrics and the vibe of the song and hoping that it would be a hit of Jessie J. As for the video, it’s simple, colorful and manages to grab the song’s essence. In other Jessie J news, she has confirmed a new tour in the UK and Ireland in Spring 2011, where she will play 7 shows beginning in Glasgow on March 31 and ending in Belfast on April 9.

As for whether the infamous singer will make a guest appearance, the professor said I will get the word out to her that I’m doing the course. But it might be logistically too difficult for her to come because she will be on tour for most of the spring semester. With a recent hospitalization due to an attack, a cancelled tour and a painful limp, you would think that partying would be the farthest thing from Deryck Whibleys mind. However, the Sum 41 lead singer was seen out and about in Hollywood last week. I guess his way of recovery is one filled with alcohol and being surrounded by attractive women. Hopefully the rest of his band is cool with the partying especially since they cancelled their spot on the Vans Warped Tour for Deryck to get better. Whatever is up, Im still wishing the best for Deryck with his recovery.
