Tokio Hotel took home the “Best Group” award at the MTV European Music Awards in Berlin beating out the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers, Kings of Leon and Green Day. Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav also rocked an epic performance of their international single “World Behind My Wall” complete with insane pyro and explosive stage effects. The track appears on the recently released Humanoid album.
Head over to Tokio Hotel’s Myspace for an exclusive listen of their album Humanoid. The first single, “Automatic” is a metallic anthem with layered, buzzing guitars, stomping percussion, and a falsetto chorus made to be belted out by a stadium full of people while “World Behind My Wall” redefines the power ballad with depth, introspection, musical confidence and an irresistible sing-along chorus. The band tracked songs in Hamburg, Miami, and L.A. “Bill drove us all crazy, constantly coming in with things, even though the old songs weren?t finished yet,” says Tom, who’s fond of frequently ribbing his brother. “Apart from that, we just didn?t limit ourselves, and we used new instruments.”
The album does not hit stores until tomorrow, but the band is streaming all 12 tracks from the standard version until midnight. Like what you hear? Preorder the sci-fi themed release on iTunes now.

Sneak a peek into the life of Tokio Hotel recording their new album Humanoid. Bill shows off his vocal recording room and discusses his extremely loud recording technique. “Most people use regular ‘headphone volume,’ but I can’t stand it. I need to feel like I’m onstage and I’m standing beside the other guys,” says the front man. The high-tech vocal mixer used on the tracks is what brought the band to Los Angeles to record. The clip also shows guitarist Tom Kaulitz playing the piano – a skill that most fans didn’t know he had. Ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards, their supporters discuss the question with vigor, as to which band is actually the more incredible. There is talk of Tokio Hotel, the most successful German rock band, and the Jonas Brothers, currently America?s greatest pop band. At this year?s VMA awards on September 7th in L.A., they came together in the category ?Best Pop Video?, further stoking up the discussion from supporters of both bands. And the question on everybody?s lips ? does this translate to competition between the two bands themselves? The truth is there is nothing of the sort, quite the opposite. Tokio Hotel (who won the MTV VMA category ?Best New Artist?) and Jonas Brothers have one thing in common: while Tokio Hotel are currently superstars in Europe who are successfully capturing great attention and fans across the United States, the superstars from America, Jonas Brothers, have planned to conquer Europe. No wonder the guys had a lot of things to tell each other, when they met shortly before the MTV VMAs in New York. They got along great and shared a lot of experiences ? and for sure there will be more, next time they meet each other.

MTV is ALL OVER Tokio Hotel. The band?s last Times Square takeover was so successful that they have been invited back to spend an entire week on TRL. Check out what MTV has to say about Tokio Hotel below.
?Just another reason why we should petition the U.S. government (they?re not busy, right?) to officially change ?August? to ?Tokio Hotel Month?; Bill, Gustav, Tom, and Georg ? collectively known as Tokio Hotel, and usually referred to between breathless gasps of OH MEIN GOTT! ? are bringing their cat eyes, impressive biceps, copious dreadlocks and brooding stares back to TRL for an entire week, beginning August 4.
Mark your calendars, phone a friend, and/or tattoo it on some inconspicuous part of your face before Tokio Hotel melts it off: Tokio Hotel, live and in the flesh, will be on TRL all week beginning Monday, August 4th.
