Shakira will perform at the closing ceremony of the World Cup. The ceremony will take place on Sunday (07.11.2010) on Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg. Just like at the opening ceremony on 11th of June, Shakira will sing the song “Waka Waka (This Time For Afrika)”, the official hymn of the World Cup 2010. Organizers say that it will be a high-tech ceremony, more modern than the one opening the World Cup in June. Jermaine Craig, spokesman of the organizing committee, said that spectators will witness awesome special effects and lights.
Alicia Keys will be joining Shakira and The Black Eyed Peas in performing at the FIFA World Cup Kick Off Celebration Concert in June. The concert will take place in South Africa on June 10th to celebrate the start of the World Cup and up to 30,000 spectators are expected to attend. Former soccer player and festivities organizer Lucas Radebe said ?I believe these historic events will go a long way towards uniting the people of our rainbow nation in South Africa.
