“Glee” actor Cory Monteith is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Parade magazine, which is out this Sunday. The 29-year old star told the magazine that by the age of 13, he was skipping school to drink and do drugs. Cory went to rehab at the age of 19 and was given an ultimatum by his family to get clean or be sent to jail. Cory said “I was done fighting myself. I finally said, ‘I’m gonna start looking at my life and figure out why I’m doing this.’ I don’t want kids to think it’s okay to drop out of school and get high, and they’ll be famous actors, too. But for those people who might give up: Get real about what you want and go after it. If I can, anyone can.”

So it turns out that the singers progress in rehab hasnt been all that great as report might have mentioned. Recently Lindsay Lohan was moved to another facility appertaining to the Betty Ford Clinic, supposedly for safety reasons given her stalker and whatnot, but now sources are claiming that Lindsay Lohan also got into a fight with a staff member due to a party bust a few days ago. This is what the source said on the matter: “Lindsay was moved to another property owned by the Betty Ford Center in order to preserve her safety, yes, but also to deal with any differences she might have had with anyone in that house.” So Lindsay Lohan is already back to partying hopefully not the drinking kind otherwise her whole progress just goes down the drain.
The Parents Television Council has chosen to pick on Glee and Britney Spears by labeling the TV series tribute episode to the pop singer as the worst show of the week. Their website criticizes the show for making a tribute to Britney who they deem to be a toxic teen role model. They continue on to say Perhaps most troubling is the deification of a troubled pop star into a symbol of empowerment and self-esteem. Considering her stints in rehab, her very public breakdowns and her questionable parenting skills, there is absolutely no way Spears should be considered a role model. The producers of the show can spare us the old song-and-dance about fallen celebs turning their lives around. Could they be any more narrow-minded?
The rapper who had a bit of a problem with prescription drugs a while back has shared the secret to his ability of staying sober. Eminem related this on the matter: “How do you stay sober? My kids, and also I see a rehab counselor once a week. I’ve been clean for two years.” Strange for a minute there youd think that both Eminem and his kids see the rehab counselor. But thats a misappropriate interpretation of what are actually some very heartfelt words on Eminems part after all, not all junkies can rely on getting inspired to giving up their addiction on their kids.
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has checked into a rehab clinic for pain management and an addiction to prescription painkillers.
The 61-year-old singer, who developed an addiction to the lethal pills after performing for 10 years with crippling injuries, released his own statement Tuesday.
It said: “With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford.
“I love Aerosmith; I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of.”
The hell-raising star has suffered with orthopedic injuries for the best part of a decade that leave him in “severe chronic pain” and will require surgeries on his knees and feet, revealed Dr Brian McKeon.
“Managing and controlling his pain has been challenging, and despite our use of alternative therapies and the creation of custom shoes built by a team of engineers from Timberland, Steven’s pain has progressed,” Dr McKeon said.
“The balance between managing his pain and avoiding addiction is tenuous and difficult and his bravery in persevering through rigorous touring is admirable.”
Aerosmith were on the brink of splitting after Tyler’s bandmates expressed their concern for his well-being after he fell off a stage and broke his shoulder back in August.
Robbie Williams has decided that he will no longer have any concert tours because of the terrible side effects he has endured because of them. The singer admits that he ends up in rehab or fat after every tour so now, he?s scrapping it altogether. Here?s a crazy idea ? maybe you could use some of your millions to hire a touring trainer and actually pay attention long enough in rehab so you won?t have to go back. That way, you can avoid all these issues and be able to keep your career afloat. That?s just a thought though. But if he?s hell bent on not touring anymore, at the very least, there?s less chance for us to hear him botch his own songs.
