Melody Thornton, a former member of the Pussycat Dolls, turned up at the Los Angeles Lakers VS Los Angeles Clippers game this past Sunday to perform the US national anthem. Now that the PCD era is a thing of the past for Melody, the singer is currently working in the studio on her debut solo album. A song of hers, called “Love Gun”, actually leaked on the internet back in September 2010 but there’s been no news of her until now. The anthem gig was good promotion for her with the presenter announcing that Melody was a former member of PCD and that she was working on a solo album. As for her rendition of the anthem, it was good but not the best I’ve heard it done.

The singers family is apparently not too into her career, especially the dress-code which she has during her photo-shoots, videos, concerts and what not. This is what Nichole Scherzinger had to say on the matter: “I still listen to my mom and my grandfather is a priest! They weren’t too excited when they saw the covers of magazines where my back was nude, and when I did the ‘Hush Hush’ video, my mother was like:, ‘Oh my goodness, I can’t believe you were at the bathtub, almost. so bare.’” Unfortunately, thats what sells these days and Nicole Scherzinger is just conforming to it. What kind of success would Pussycat Dolls have if she didnt?

Four songs were covered on this weeks episode of Glee. Jane Lynch and guest star Carol Burnett made a harmony of Ohio from the 1953 musical Wonderful Town. Two Bruno Mars songs were also featured, namely Just the Way You Are and Marry You. Matthew Morrison also sang the Pablo Beltran Ruiz song Sway, as covered by Michael Buble as well as the Pussycat Dolls. All of the songs were released as singles and available for digital download but Ohio is not featured in the album Glee: The Music, Volume 4. If it wasnt for the Bruno Mars songs, the songs on this weeks episodes would have been graded with a B-, but since the R&B hits are there, I give it an A.

Even though the Pussycat Dolls singer is still in a relationship with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, despite the ups and downs they might have had, she still puts her career before taking the relationship any further. This is what Nicole Scherzinger said on the matter: “Have we discussed marriage? Everything in its time. I’m focused on my career now.” Nicole Scherzinger seems to have been focused on her career forever now, but thats probably just because being a pop star never seems to end. However she may eventually end up sacrificing everything for her career while Lewis Hamilton settles down in a quiet little British village.
X Factor is about to get fierce as it is being reported that Nicole Scherzinger is about to sign at multimillion dollar contract to be a judge on the US version of the show. Sources say that the Pussycat Dolls lead singer will be joining Cheryl Cole who has been discussing this with Cowell for months and is ready to move to LA. That panel of judges is seemingly coming along well. I wonder who else will be joining them. Its certainly going to be interesting to watch how this show would compare to American Idol. I wonder if theres going to be any drama between the judges like there was on the UK version of the show.
Natalie Mejia from the Pussycat Dolls reality show and so-called band Girlicious has pled not guilty to one felony count of drug possession, following her cocaine bust in Glendale, California last month. The singer was arrested on March 10 after cops say she had over a dozen bags of cocaine in her Gucci purse. How does she explain having that in her bag then? Natalie had been a passenger in a car that was pulled over for speeding when cops noticed the alleged stash of drugs. Unless the bag doesn?t actually belong to her or it got switched, I doubt she?ll get out of this one. She is due back in court on April 28.
The Pussycat Dolls as we once knew them are now over and done for as several members have left the band, leaving lead singer Nicole Scherzinger and group found Robin Antin to take the next step. During a recent interview, Nicole said that she will be recording in the studio working on the next PCD alum with all new band mates. A new cast of dolls is already being considered to replace the old ones. Nicole also said that she hopes that the new album can be released by the end of this year. Hopefully, the new set of girls will be extremely talented and grateful that someone gave them a shot.
Or maybe not, but that does not change the fact that one of the pussycats has decided to part ways with the band. This is what Ashley Roberts, the deserting feline, wrote on her blog: “Yes I have left the Pussycat Dolls. I am so grateful to have the love and support of all of you. It was an amazing ride and I learned so much. I currently have got the acting bug and am falling in love with it. I shot a pilot for MTV as a host… and had a blast w my girl Aubrey Oday, Marques Houston and Record producer Ghost.” Right? why doesn?t Ashley Roberts just admit that acting pays better than music? But if being a host on MTV is her idea of acting, she?s still got a long way to go.
Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and the LA Lakers are getting sued by a company that claims that they all used knockoffs of their big screen in concert. Large Audience Display Systems says in a federal lawsuit filed in Texas that the concerts in question used a large audience display screen that was identical to their patented gigantic monitors. Britney uses the screen on her Circus tour. Justin used the monitors on his FutureSex/LoveShow tour and the Lakers use them for the games. The Pussycat Dolls were also involved in the lawsuit. The company wants an injunction prohibiting the defendants from using the knockoffs in the future as well as unspecified damages.
We all know that the Pussycat Dolls are done and over with and it looks like the girls are ready to admit to it. Kimberly Wyatt recently explained to Chris Younie on The Hits Radio that the group has zero plans for another album. However, she gave some hope that it wouldn?t be the last that we?ve heard of the band, it just might not be the same girls. Kimberly said ?Here’s the thing. I think the Pussycat Dolls was always created as a brand, and it will always be that way. No matter what happens, the Pussycat Dolls will always be around.?
The Pussycat Dolls are going on a break and member Kimberly Wyatt has opened the floodgates for the rest of the girls to follow by telling reporters how she really feels about band mate Nicole Scherzinger. Kimberly said ?I get on with most of the band but not everyone. Look, at the end of the day it?s a job ? we all have our own lives to lead and our own projects going on?I think of Nicole as just a business associate not as a friend. You cannot simply group girls together and just expect them to get on, can you? Life doesn?t work like that.? Kim isn?t concerned in Nicole leaves the group saying ?If Nicole left tomorrow, we could still carry on. I can see this band going on forever.?

Pussycat Dolls have just premiered the video for their version of A R Rahman?s Oscar winning ?Jai Ho!? ?It was such a great honor to be able to re-write my own version of the lyrics,? said PCD?s Nicole Scherzinger who worked with producer Ron Fair on the new interpretation of the track. The Dolls shot the video for ?Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny)? at an abandoned train station museum in snowy Vienna with director Thomas Kloss (Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus).

It looks like everything is not so peachy keen between the Pussycat Dolls and the head of their record label, Jimmy Iovine. Basically, the Dolls want to take their backup dancers on the road with them for their opening gig for Britney Spears? ?Circus? tour. Unfortunately, Iovine gave the girls a harsh lesson in reality and economics. When the girls pleaded for the dancers to come along, Iovine responded with ?We can’t afford it. I’m sorry its hard enough right now with the album not selling that’s why we did jai ho and re releasing the album. And we want to be able to keep the whole thing going at this level its not a choice its a reality.?
