Joe Jonas and Lil Wayne Collaborate on Remix – Just in Love
Joe Jonas is really desperate to get his solo career off the ground, so much so that he’s recruited Lil Wayne to join him on the official remix of his single “Just in Love”. The pop singer may be delirious because he’s not getting any urban airplay if that’s what he was going for. As for the remix, Joe’s vocals, lyrics and the song’s beat are the same, with the addition of Lil Wayne adding some rap verses. Unfortunately for Joe, they don’t really add anything good to the song. I was actually anticipating Joe’s solo debut after hearing “See No More” but after “Just in Love” and hearing other leaked tracks, let’s just say he’s lucky that he’s pretty.
Justin Bieber has brought back his rapper alter ego Shawty Mane for this fresh remix of Lil Wayne’s latest smash hit “How to Love”. The teen pop singer kept the entirety of the original lyrics and even added a whole new rap verse. He definitely shows off his talent on the sweet acoustic number from “Tha Carter IV”. A couple of demos of Justin as Shawty Mane have leaked recently and is making me think that a rap album or mix tape might be in the works. I think he’ll do it one day. He obviously likes that type of music.
BoB has a new song out called “Strange Clouds”. The track, which features fellow hip hop artist Lil Wayne, is the first single to come off of the Atlanta rapper’s much anticipated sophomore studio album. The song was released on iTunes on September 27th and I see no reason why this shouldn’t crack the top 10. It’s may not be as explosive as BoB’s other collaborative work but I really think that it’s a smash either way. What do you guys think about this new single of his? Lil Wayne teams up with R&B/pop singer Bruno Mars in a track called “Mirror”. The song is a bonus track included on the deluxe version of the rapper’s latest album “Tha Carter IV”. This thing came out of nowhere! If you didn’t have enough reasons to buy this album, now you do. “Mirror” is an absolute smash, in my opinion. And if Lil Wayne is smart, he’ll release this as a single ASAP. Bruno is a pretty hot thing in the music industry and everybody just loves the guy. Featuring him on a track is a guarantee that radios will eat this up.

Lil Wayne’s album “Tha Carter IV” is out today! The recording process of the album has been a long journey and I hope it’s worth all the wait. The rapper was supposed to put it out immediately after the third installment of the “Tha Carter” series, which was released in the summer of 2008. However, he didn’t want a new album so soon, especially after “Tha Carter III”, which he had in high regard. After releasing two records, “Rebirth” and “I Am Not a Human Being”, Lil Wayne found himself going to jail, spending 2010 in prison. When he got out, he was finally ready to work on “Tha Carter IV”. Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” is an official hit. The track has been moving up on the Billboard Hot 100 chart weeks after its initial release and has become the highest charting Hot 100 rap hit by a solo female rapper ever since Missy Elliott’s “Work It”, which reached the #2 spot back in 2002. “Super Bass” is also only one of eight rap singles by a solo female artist to reach the top 10 in the chart’s 53-year history. Cash Money co-founder Ronald Williams isn’t surprised by the success of Nicki and the track, saying “Nicki isn’t like any other female rapper. We knew she had the goods when Lil Wayne signed her. She’s not a female rapper — she’s a pop star who happens to rap.” Congratulations!
Justin Bieber has a lot going on for him these days, but the pop singer hopes that he’ll be getting back into the studio some time soon. When he does, Justin is hoping to work on a new duet with none other than Lil Wayne. However, the rapper is apparently not too keen on the idea. It’s not because he doesn’t love the kid, but because he’s afraid of what it’s going to do with his image. Lil Wayne explained “That’s my little homie now. He texts me every night asking me to do [his] damn song. That’s my n**ga, but I can’t do it. Like I said, I don’t want to f**k his s**t up.” To be honest, I can’t really see Lil Wayne toning it down to meet Justin’s audience, nor can I see Justin maturing to meet Lil Wayne’s audience.
It has been confirmed that Justin Bieber is scheduled to make an appearance at the BET Awards. How could the most popular act in the music business not make an appearance at the annual hip hop and R&B award show anyway? Note my sarcasm. The 17-year old pop, I reiterate, pop singer joins a list of other artists including Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Kelly Rowland, Trey Songz, Lil Wayne, Drake, Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, DJ Khaled and Jill Scott. If Chris Brown is performing, I’m willing to bet that Justin will perform alongside him with their collaboration “Next 2 You”.

It’s not the typical material from Lil Wayne but I actually like it. Drake better watch out because he may have some competition when it comes to this style of music. Lil Wayne shows off a softer side in this new song, mostly singing instead of rapping throughout the guitar-driven production. Once you get used to the idea of Lil Wayne as a singer, you’ll get into the song. It’s been on repeat ever since I heard it.

Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has recently premiered the music video for his song “Can a Drummer Get Some”. The track is the lead single from the rock star’s debut solo album which was released earlier this Month. The song features verses by rappers The Game, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne, while Swizz Beatz is in charge of the hook. The song isn’t half bad but I’m afraid it’s going to flop. I say Travis should just forget about this solo project and focus on the upcoming Blink 182 album and tour. He’s a great musician but he’s not as noteworthy as he is with the band.

The recently discovered singer has just released her first music video for the song “This is what Rock’n’Roll Looks Like”. It’s a bit hard to believe that Porcelain Black was discovered by Lil’ Wayne… she looks a bit more like something Marilyn Manson would promote… well, apart from the dance elements and moves in the video and the song. Lil’ Wayne of course wasn’t going to let Porcelain Black do all of this by herself so he pitches in on the music video a bit as well. The video itself borders somewhere between interesting and annoying: on the one hand you have this weird girl who’s a cross between Lady GaGa and Marilyn Manson, at least at first glance, and her singing’s a bit off too, but not annoying. On the other hand, you have the same old party video with lots of enticing females and what have you. The song doesn’t sound too bad either: a cross between the dance of decades past and something that kind of sounds like Rock’n’Roll. This one is probably going to have a very polarized following.

It looks like Lil Wayne has become quite popular with the female population in the music industry. Last week, Nicki Minaj was all too excited about going on tour with her fellow rapper. Now, Jennifer Lopez is giddy about collaborating with him on her upcoming single “I’m Into You”. The pop singer and American Idol judge said “My next single I believe will be a song called I’m Into You and it’s gonna feature Lil Wayne, so look out for that. To me just the things he says and the way he says it is very unique, and I feel like he has a fresh new voice. He might be one of the best out there right now. He might be the best.” I can’t wait to hear this.
Jay Sean is back with a new single called “Hit the Lights” which features rapper Lil Wayne. The song is a definite club banger. The J-Remy and Bobbygass-produced track will officially be released in the UK on February 8th. Jay’s new studio album “Freeze Time” will hit stores two weeks later on February 22nd. I think this song is going to kill on the radio. The singer’s latest track needs to get to number one because I think it’s miles better than “2012”. But if he’s planning to release this in the US, he better ask for some help with Lil Wayne if he wants to score another number one on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Bruno Mars has postponed his court date on a Las Vegas cocaine charge for the second time. The R&B singer was not in court this past Tuesday while his lawyer asked a judge to let Brunos LA attorney take part in the case. Instead, Bruno will be back in court on February 4. The singer is facing a felony drug possession charge after he was found with 2.6 grams of cocaine following a September performance in Las Vegas. If convicted, Bruno can face up to four years in prison. I say he just needs to get this over with. With his luck, he can still resurrect his career like Lil Wayne.
While talking to 96.1 Kiss FM, former President Bill Clinton offered support from Lil Wayne, who recently got released from prison. The politician said My daughter introduced me to rap and hip-hop music, after I said some things she thought were not very smart. She said, ‘Dad you need to listen, a lot of these people are smart.’ This guy’s (Lil Wayne) smart and he’s got ability and he’s got a new chance now A lot of these people (rappers) they don’t get successful by being really dumb, they’re really smart. But a lot of them have had really tough lives and they almost think its cool to get in trouble every now and then or they don’t know how to stay out. What I hope will happen is that he has a good life now.
It seems that Eminem is really bent on promoting this new style of his and he got Lil Wayne to help him. Even though still incarcerated, it appears that Lil Wayne can still shoot a video or two every now and again. And Eminem has been generous: almost half of the whole thing is Lil Wayne speaking even though hes just supposed to be featured in the video. But hey, when youve got friends in high places and you find somebody who wants to spice-up his fan base with a little extra attention, you get more than you ever expect.

Heres to hoping that Lil Wayne remains behaved in prison as the rappers new album Tha Carter IV is set to be released on November 5, the same day that he is tentatively slated to be released from jail. The president of Lil Waynes Young Money Crew talked about the new album, saying Tha Carter IV plans we had and still have are to put Tha Carter IV out the day he comes out [of prison]. He had so many songs for Tha Carter IV, we said let’s just put these 10 songs out [on I Am Not a Human Being] and double-back for Tha Carter IV. He has more songs for Tha Carter IV that are still strong. According to him, Lil Wayne has been hard at work on song selection for the new album despite the fact that hes been serving a 1-year sentence on Rikers Island.

Lil Wayne could leave prison in November, 4 months earlier than he should. The rapper was condemned in March to 12 months in prison, after he pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a weapon. According to MTV News, Lil Wayne will be released for good behavior, on the 4th of November. Life in prison seems to be manageable for Wayne, he even wrote a few songs while being in prison. Recently on the rappers blog was posted his day by day program inside the prison walls.
Lil Wayne is in trouble after the rapper was reportedly busted during an early morning search with a pair of earphones and an iPod charger. That?s a big no-no at Rikers Island. According to the New York Daily News, Lil Wayne, who is serving a one-year stint for a gun possession charge, will be charged with an infraction for being in possession of music contraband. They found the items wrapped in foil and hidden in the trash. The big mystery though is that officials were unable to locate the actual mp3 player. There?s no word on how he was able to smuggle the items in and what his penalty would be.
Now that Lil Wayne is finally serving his time in jail at New York?s Rikers Island prison on weapons charges, the rapper has been ordered to not sign autographs. He has been warned to avoid publicizing his celebrity and giving autographs to any of the other inmates. A representative of the Correction Officer?s Benevolent Association said ?Lil Wayne is not a celebrity in here.? It looks like the rapper is in for a rough time. Rikers has been known to not really treat their celebrity inmates any better than any other goon. And that?s good since he deserves it after all the lucky breaks he had.
Lil Wayne has finally been sentenced and has started his one-year prison term this Monday for attempted gun possession. It was originally delayed so that the rapper could undergo eight root canals and again delayed after a fire broke out in the Manhattan Criminal Court Building. Last I heard, Lil Wayne was still undergoing medical exams but a New York corrections offer explains how the rapper?s time will be in jail. ?He’ll be housed with inmates who are classified in his category, and he’ll be able to be a regular inmate. He’ll be able to watch television, go into the day room and congregate with people of his classification. He’ll have no preferable treatment at all. He’ll be treated like a regular inmate.?
Lil Wayne is the luckiest guy on earth ? sort of. The rapper was scheduled to be formally sentenced to a year in prison earlier this week for illegally being in possession of a loaded gun. However, due t his ridiculous grill and the surgery it will need to get fixed, Lil Wayne was granted an extension. His oral surgery is scheduled for Friday, but he won?t have to face the judge again until March 2. I think that?s pretty ridiculous. If he?s gone that long with his teeth looking like gum wrappers, he can serve his time in prison with it too.
Lil Wayne is one very lucky guy. The rapper?s tour bus was detained in Falfurrias, Texas last week after Border Patrol officers found some marijuana on board. The great part about it for Lil Wayne was that he managed to escape a citation. He and 11 others were questioned by Border Patrol last Friday night and a couple of the guys in his crew were cited for possession. The rapper obviously dodged the bullet big time or he would be serving more time in jail on top of the time he?s set to serve starting in early February. When is this guy going to learn?
Some of Lil Wayne?s fans have gotten quite the surprise in the mail. The rapper?s upcoming rock album ?Rebirth? was originally scheduled for release on December 15, but has since been pushed back to February 1. However, someone must have not gotten the memo as 500 or so fans who pre-ordered the album on Amazon were sent the CD in the mail this week. I?m expecting a full album leak to go down some time real soon. I wonder what those fans think of the new music that Lil Wayne is offering. Someone better get online and let us have a say too!
It seems that Lil Wayne?s new record is finally getting a release date. The rapper?s album ?Rebirth? was originally set to have gone out this past April. However, after many delays, it kept getting pushed back. Now, the so called rock oriented album will be hitting the stores this December 15th, just in time for the holidays! However, the album?s lead single ?Prom Queen? which was released back in January failed to get much popularity. That means that he needs to come out with a hot new single in the next couple of weeks to get some good promotion for the album.
Chris Brown is going to debut his first music video for ?I Can Transform Ya? since that whole Rihanna assault earlier this year. The video was directed by Joseph Kahn and also features producer Swizz Beatz and rapper Lil Wayne. The 21-year old R&B singer wrote about making his comeback on his blog, saying ?The expectations of me by people are far more greater than what I think I?m capable of. God give me strength. If I couldn?t dream, would I believe that there could be a you and me. And if I couldn?t sing would you be able to hear my melody.?
Just last month, it was reported that Lil Wayne became a father by his baby mama, actress Lauren London, who gave birth to a baby boy. That was the rapper?s third kid. He already had one with his ex-wife and some college student. However, it was also reported back in June that singer Nivea Hamilton was rumored to be pregnant with Lil Wayne?s kid too. Months later, the rapper has confirmed the news during a BBC interview where Lil Wayne said that he and Nivea are expecting a baby boy. That kid will be the fourth for the rapper. Someone needs to learn how to use a condom.
