American rock band Kings of Leon recently premiered the official music video for their song “Back Down South”. The track is the third single to be lifted off of their latest album “Come Around Sundown”. The song is so relaxing and there’s just something about it that makes me want to smile. As for the Casey McGrath-directed video, it perfectly captured the song’s essence as a great homage to the south lifestyle. It also shows footage from the band performing a live concert outdoors in a rural setting in front of a group of a group of lucky members of the Kings of Leon fan club.

Caleb Followill has admitted that he hasn’t been told the date of his own wedding to fiancée Lily Aldridge, because he can’t be trusted to keep it quiet. The Kings of Leon frontman and the Victoria’s Secret Model announced their engagement in September 2010 after three years of dating, and while Caleb revealed that they will marry this month, he insisted that he doesn’t know exactly when. Talking to People magazine, he said, "You have to ask Lily [about the wedding date]. She won’t tell me. I think it’s somewhere between May 10 and May 20, but she won’t tell me because I have a big mouth." Caleb’s brother and bandmate Jared added, "It’s going to be a very small wedding and then a big party. I think there are only like maybe 25 people or so going to the wedding, but a lot of people will be at the party."
Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl has decided to jump on the anti-“Glee” train while promoting his band’s new documentary “Back and Forth” at the SXSW festival. The rock star said “It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do fucking Glee. And then the guy who created Glee is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his fucking show… fuck that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do Glee. I watched 10 minutes. It’s not my thing. The Glee guy, what a fucking jerk. Slash was the first one. He wanted to do Guns ‘n’ Roses and Slash is like, ‘I hate fucking musicals. It’s worse than Grease.’ Then [Murphy's] like, ‘Well, of course he’d say that, he’s a washed up old’ rock star, that’s what they fucking do.’ And then Kings of Leon say, ‘No, we don’t want to be on your show.’ And then he’s like, ‘Snotty little assholes…’ And it’s just like, Dude, maybe not everyone loves Glee. Me included.” To each their own I guess. It’s their music after all.
While it’s not 100% confirmed as of yet, it’s pretty much a given that Britney Spears will be going on tour this 2011. Multiple sources close to the pop singer have claimed that she will be taking “Femme Fatale” on the road and according to an Investor’s Report on LiveNation “At this point, the company expects over 75% of its key Front Line artists to be active and touring during 2011, compared to under 50% of those artists actively touring last year. Major tours are currently expected from, among others, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Neil Diamond, the cast of ‘Glee’, Journey, Kid Rock, Kings Of Leon, Britney Spears and Sugarland.” Hopefully we’ll get an official announcement soon.
The rockers from Kings of Leon have recently released a new music video for their song Pyro. The video itself is a fairly interesting thing as it features Kings of Leon playing in a sleazy strip bar. Except for the band itself, everything else seems to happen in slow motion and a guy starts a bar fight that has a rather unexpected result. Musically the song is a soft rock piece, very mellow, seemingly melancholic with some pretty cryptic lyrics, but King of Leon have probably hidden a sense in there somewhere for anybody who is patient enough to look for it. All in all its not a very bad waste of four minutes.
Ryan Murphys people went to ask Kings of Leon if they could use one of their songs on the hit TV show Glee. While the show is a huge hit, the band claims that theyve never watched it nor heard of it before so they decided to turn down the offer based off of nothing more than their ignorance. Months later, they are still talking about the offer with guitarist Matthew Followill recently saying Everyone took it so seriously when we said no to Glee because it’s everyone’s favorite show. But we just had never really seen the show, we didn’t know what it’s about. They just said, ‘Hey, do you want your music to be on Glee,’ and we said, ‘No, I don’t think so. We don’t want to.’ I think the question now is if they want to do it if they get asked again.
Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill recently took a cheap dig at the band Arcade Fire in a recent interview. The rock star said Now it’s cool to have 14 people in your band doing everything but contributing musically, running around with a helmet on your head, hitting it with a drumstick. You gotta look at what you’re in this for: the love of music? The fame? You can have all that if you’re smart and play your cards right and don’t become a dick. Hes apparently talking about something that band member Richard Parry has done in various performances. I think the diss is unjustified. Arcade Fire has consistently put out great albums and seem completely committed to their music and fans. I cant say the same about Kings of Leon who keeps complaining about their mainstream popularity.
The singer from Kings of Leon recently admitted that he had a little addiction problem with the prescription drugs and, moreover, it affected his memory. This is what Caleb Followill related on the matter: ” ‘Only By The Night’ was the most messed up. That was the party record. I don’t remember a lot of it. I had surgery on my shoulder so they gave me pain pills which I kind of got hooked on.” Well, a little memory loss now and then isnt such a bad thing. Maybe stuff happened during that time that Caleb Followill is better off forgetting. Hopefully he didnt forget any of the music he was playing at the time. That would be very professionally detrimental.
Kings of Leon is going to released new album on October 19th. titled “Come Around Sundown” “Radioactive” is the first single from Kings
Of Leon’s upcoming album called “Come Around Sundown”
Kings of Leon lead singer Caleb Followill regrets talking smack about the bands huge hit Sex on Fire. The rocks tar said that he was ashamed of calling the song a piece of shit and called his new fans not fucking cool. Caleb said For a while there, I turned into someone I wasn’t proud of. I wasn’t appreciative of the admiration we were getting, and I said some things that I’m ashamed of. I hurt people who were genuine fans of the band because I was embarrassed to look out from the stage every night and see people who weren’t like me.
The members of Kings of Leon are still talking about their disgusting pigeon poop ordeal in which the band got pelted with feces while performing at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis. Jared Followill, the bands bassist, got hit several times during the first 2 songs but when he got hit near his mouth while singing on the 3rd song, the band called it quits. The self-professed germophobe said I was hit by pigeons on each of the first three songs. We had 20 songs on the set list. By the end of the show, I would have been covered from head to toe. The last thing I was going to do was look up, but if that was only a couple, we must have caught them right after a big Thanksgiving dinner.
Kings of Leon is putting the finishing touches on their fifth album. Drummer Nathan Followill spoke to Billboard about how the band and producers Jacquire King and Angelo Petraglia did a majority of (the album) in New York City and decided to come home to do the last couple of weeks just to fool around and do it at home [in Nashville]. Honestly, with the success of the last recorda lot of people thought we would put a lot of pressure on ourselves and go in there and try to recreate what we thought was successful on the last record And Ill be damned if we didnt go in there and make a fun record. Its got songs that are beachy. Its got songs that are a little more of our (2003 debut album) Youth and Young Manhood days pretty much all across the board. Were super excited. Everything, we feel, fits perfectly for this project. Itll be interesting to see how well-received it is. Are you ready for new music from Kings of Leon?
It seems that the last info on Kings of Leon getting a new and unique deal with Warner Brothers Records was a bit inaccurate. The band has recently come out and stated that there is no other deal and that they are keeping true to Columbia Records. This is what the guys from Kings of Leon said on the matter: “Consider the source. Kings of Leon have always had and continue to have a great relationship with their label.” It?s probably true though? what band would actually want to pay for their own recording, anyway? Nasty stuff? the way the labels can control them these days, that?s good. Why would Kings of Leon ever even want to change that?
