Prepare your eyes for some ginger overload. It was recently confirmed that for his next music video for the song “Lego House”, Ed Sheeran will be working with “Harry Potter” actor Rupert Grint. Both of the guys are reportedly excited to work together, with Ed teasing that half of the video has already been shot so there won’t be too long of a wait for it. Rupert added in a separate interview “Ed Sheeran supports the gingers! We’ll be doing something in the video. I don’t think I can say too much about it, but it’s going to be very cool.”
Leona Lewis has recently unveiled the official artwork for her upcoming album “Glassheart”. The pop singer’s third studio effort will hit stores in the UK on November 28th. I guess she’s keeping “Glass Heart” written as one word. I’m not sure what to think of that. Anyway, the actual album cover features a pretty photo of Leona. There’s no denying that her face is simply stunning but with all the possibilities with the words, they could have done so much better with the cover. It’s very safe in my opinion. Where’s the creativity and originality? In other news, Leona recently had an interview with UK radio show “IN: DEMAND with Alex and Lucy” earlier this week where she confirmed that she will be performing on the US X Factor.
Pitbull had posted a 3-minute interview on his official website PlanetPit.com where he shares his thoughts on the lawsuit that Lindsay Lohan filed against him. The actress is suing the rapper over a lyric in his hit song “Give Me Everything” which, according to Lindsay, disparages her name. He didn’t really have to explain himself but my hat’s off to him for doing so. Pitbull said “When I mention Lindsay Lohan in the record it’s really a positive message. When I say I got it locked up, if you play at the park, if you from the neighborhood, when they say you got it locked up, that means you run that area.” He even invited Lindsay to come with him to the VMAs where he will be hitting the stage with Ne-Yo to perform the song.

Metallica fans have a lot to be happy about. Not only is the heavy metal band about to start working on their 10th studio album, but producer Rick Rubin, who was behind their last album “Death Magnetic”, is returning to produce. Bassist Robert Trujillo expressed his excitement on getting back into the studio with Rick in a recent radio interview, saying “Yeah. I love working with Rick. Rick, to me, he’s sort of a Zen guru spirit that Metallica needs right now. Not to say that we need it, because we’re getting along incredibly well, we’re really excited to write some new music. There’s no shortage of riffage in Metallica world right now. And I think it’s only gonna get better.” Are you excited for some new Metallica music?
Jessie J recently had a talk with Interview magazine where the 22-year old British singer/songwriter talked about her struggles and making music that means something. On going through her struggles, Jessie J said she doesn’t mind them at all, saying “I’m glad I’ve had to struggle. Lady Gaga answered a ton of questions from fans during an exclusive interview with Google. I think that the princess of pop is the first singer of worldwide success to do it. The interview was taped at the internet company’s headquarters in San Francisco on Tuesday. During the over 1 hour talk, Lady Gaga discussed her fans, her music and revealed details on her upcoming “Born This Way” album, which is due out on May 23. It’s an interesting watch. In related news, Lady Gaga will be shooting the music video for her next single “Judas” on April 1. I can’t wait to see that one.

The results show of American Idol bugs me as much as the song choices that the contestants made this week did. From the butchered opening performance to mics not being turned on at the right time, I was wishing it wasn’t a live show but rather a pre-recorded one. And then there’s the fluff of a Ford commercial, loads of fillers and the audience getting a free 10-year anniversary CD. Don’t even get me started on the contestant interview and Pia Toscano being censored for saying “shih tzu”. Another lame part had to be the St. Patrick’s Day lighting gag. Why are you doing this AI?

The 10-year old pop singer talked about her budding music career and being able to work with rap mogul Jay-Z. She said “It is very cool, because Jay[-Z] really welcomes me and makes me feel like the record label is a place where I can have fun and talk about my career. He and his people make me feel like I’m a part of something. And I love Beyonce—she’s awesome!” I wonder if there’s a Willow-Beyonce collaboration somewhere in the near future.
Kanye West is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Complex magazine. Instead of having an intensive interview with the rapper, the magazine had some of Kanyes friends talk about him. One such comment was from friend and collaborator Nicki Minaj. She said Hes a legend in hip-hop and in pop culture and to be on his album is a blessing. I dont even remember him ever working with a female rapper, so to be on an album and on a record this monstrous? I couldnt have planned it better in a perfect world. And people that dress [like rock stars] and have guitars in their music thats the closest thing audiences have to rock right now, and were looking to bring back a real rock band. The rock star urges young musicians to resist the temptation of signing a big record deal as he think all the labels will completely fold in a couple of months. I say they have a couple of years left. He feels so adamantly in warning upcoming artists of the dangers of a record deal that he even sat down for an interview for a new high school textbook where Thom said It will be only a matter of time – months rather than years – before the music business establishment completely folds. Chris Brown disappointed what little fans he had left by losing his cool with a radio DJ in Richmond this past weekend. The DJ played back the very short interview for fans, explain that before he could even ask the R&B singer a question, Chris started screaming about not getting enough airplay. The DJ said ?Chris Brown was going to come in today to do an interview to promote his concert? But before we could even get into the interview, homeboy starts yelling at me, wondering why we don’t play his records. Just last month, it was reported that Lil Wayne became a father by his baby mama, actress Lauren London, who gave birth to a baby boy. That was the rapper?s third kid. He already had one with his ex-wife and some college student. However, it was also reported back in June that singer Nivea Hamilton was rumored to be pregnant with Lil Wayne?s kid too. Months later, the rapper has confirmed the news during a BBC interview where Lil Wayne said that he and Nivea are expecting a baby boy. That kid will be the fourth for the rapper. Someone needs to learn how to use a condom.
