I waited four long months to finally be able to watch the music video for Eminem’s “Space Bound”. The Jim Jonsin-produced track is the fourth single from the rapper’s album “Recovery”. The clip was directed by Joseph Kahn and was filmed over a 3-day period in Los Angeles back in February. Apparently, the editing process was really complicated. But forget about the delay and let’s talk about how amazing the video is! The storyline is clever. The two Eminems, the girlfriend played by former porn star Sasha Grey, the relationship problems, the split screen and the ending. Just wow! It’s so intense that you’d lose focus on the song completely.

Eminem and Royce da 5’9 have a new song out called “Lighters”. The rappers, who together form the hip hop duo Bad Meets Evil, have this track on their upcoming album “Hell: The Sequel” out on June 14th. “Lighters” was one of the most anticipated tracks from the album as it sees the first collaboration between two of the music industry’s biggest players today – Eminem and Bruno Mars. In the song, Bruno shows off his wide vocal range and vulnerable side on the chorus and bridge. I really think this track should eventually be a single. Eminem is capable of having a top 10 hit on his own, same with Bruno. The two of them together, as well as Royce da 5’9 – smash hit!

Emile Hirsch shows off his directing chops in this recently premiered music video set to Eminem’s “Kill You”, which comes off of the rapper’s 2000 record “The Marshall Mathers LP”. The clip marks the second video that Emile has directed and features several furry friends that belong to “Nikita” star Lyndsy Fonseca. Lyndsy wrote on her Twitter “My friends #EmileHirsch, @Chuckchurch made a video starring my animals. enjoy!!!” I wonder if Eminem has seen this clip and what he thought about it. I think it was pretty funny. I like Emile’s sense of humor. It definitely comes out in his directing chops.

It looks like the rapper is going to have to take his difficulties elsewhere. It seems that Eminem and his producers, F.B.T. Production Company, have entered into a bit of a legal conflict with Universal Music Group over the download of some of Eminem’s songs and ringtones. Supposedly the profits should be split 50-50 between the two parties, but Eminem and his producers are receiving 12% from the physical album sales… and this is probably wrong in some way, or at least Eminem and F.B.T. believe so. But the Supreme Court isn’t going to be taking on this case so it looks like they’re going to have to find another, more civilized way to handle this. Maybe a local mafia chief would do the trick.
The very successful recent hit of Dr. Dre’s, “I Need a Doctor”, finally has a music video. As with the song, the music video features Eminem and Skylar Grey doing almost all of the singing. This one is pretty epic and it seems that Dr. Dre hasn’t really spared any expense with it: 7.5 minutes long, plenty of special effects like Dr. Dre crashing a Ferrari, but there’s also some serious product placement here. The music video it’s basically a metaphor for what the song stands and it looks like whoever thought it up did a reasonably good job of it… but then again, who wouldn’t with what seems to be unlimited funds. Still, there’s no denying that it is an interesting view and Dr. Dre’s fans and Eminem’s fans will most assuredly love it.

If you thought Lady Gaga’s performance at the 2011 Grammy Awards was epic, then you obviously missed out on Eminem’s time on the stage. The Grammy-award winning rapper wasn’t alone though. Rihanna, with Adam Levine on piano and backup vocals, opened up the set with “Love the Way You Lie (Part 2)”. After the R&B superstar did her thing, they quickly transitioned into “I Need a Doctor” with Skylar Grey and rap legend Dr. Dre. With the song, video and the performance, could Dr. Dre’s return be upon us? I’m really hoping it is. And if the reaction of the crowd was anything to go by, he’s definitely got a huge welcome waiting for him.

An unreleased track of Eminems has found its way online. The track is called Cocaine and it features the vocals of R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan. This collaboration was part of the recording sessions for the rappers Recovery album but it missed the final cut. It is now thought that the song will be used on a future re-release of the LP. Its a great song that both of the artists killed on. I never thought that they would actually collaborate but Ive learned to never say never. However, I dont see this song getting the single treatment though. It deserves to be part of an album but I dont think its strong enough to warrant single status.

It seems that the rapper has quite a few famous fans and among them is the Twilight saga star, Robert Pattinson. Moreover, it looks like Eminem could even take the actor under his wing as Robert Pattinson recently admitted that he is very into rap: “You want a secret? OK, how about this Ive got a whole collection of tapes of me rapping from when I was 13! I wanted to be a rapper so there are hundreds and hundreds of tapes. Theyre very amusing! I was obsessed with Eminem when I was younger. When he first came out I was about 12 and fanatical about his Slim Shady CD. I think hes a genius. Well it couldnt hurt Eminems career to get Robert Pattinson rapping it certainly wouldnt hurt his finances either.
Even though his recent stuff didnt seem to sound that amazing, it looks like somebody up there sure likes Eminmens music as he is currently at the top of the nominations list for this years Grammy with no less than ten nominations. Among the categories in which Eminem is nominated for Grammys are Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Rap Album. He does owe two of those to Rihanna, though. Of course, in which of these categories he is actually going to get an award still remains to be seen, but it is a pretty impressive thing for Eminem. Maybe he hasnt lost his touch after all.

The 2010 American Music Awards were held live at the Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles this past Sunday and the winners are in! The night went to pop singer Justin Bieber who went home with all four of the awards that the teen sensation was nominated for, including Artist of the Year. Eminem and Usher took runner up spots, both taking home two awards. Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Shakira, Muse, Michael Buble and MercyMe went home with an award each. Eminem has come out to say that he was bullied so harshly as a child that his mother actually filed a lawsuit against the Detroit school system. The rappers history of being bullied started in elementary school when a bully split his lip open and knocked the wind out of him. Over time, Eminem suffered more beatings from the same bully. In his worst run-in, the bully hit Eminem in the face with a snowball containing a heavy object or a piece of ice and then proceeded to beat him up which resulted in a concussion and temporary loss of vision in one eye. Eminem has recently been speaking out against bullying in an effort to combat the trend of suicides resulting from anti-gay bullying in schools.
Eminem and Rihanna are going to reunite to record a sequel to their hit song Love the Way You Lie. The song, which is simply titled Love the Way You Lie (Part 2), will feature the female side of the story line that began in the original song. And it seems that its going to be just as intense and emotional and the R&B singer and rappers first collaboration. Some of the lyrics go Even angels have their wing cut schemes, and you take that to new extremes, but you will always be my hero, even though you lost your mind. The song will be produced by Alex Da Kid and will be featured on Rihannas upcoming album Loud, which hits stores on November 16.

The singer who never really knew his father since he walked out on him and his mother when Eminem was still very young doesnt understand how he couldve done something like that. This is what Eminem said on the matter: “I never knew him, never met him, never knew him. I don’t know if I want to see him. Some people ask me that, and I don’t think I do. I can’t understand how he could leave us. If my kids moved to the edge of the earth, I’d find them. No doubt in my mind. No money, no nothing – if I had nothing I’d find my kids. So there’s no excuse.” Well, maybe the circumstances were different for Eminems dad, maybe something totally unusual happened. Who knows, the man might even have been abducted by aliens.
It seems that Eminem is really bent on promoting this new style of his and he got Lil Wayne to help him. Even though still incarcerated, it appears that Lil Wayne can still shoot a video or two every now and again. And Eminem has been generous: almost half of the whole thing is Lil Wayne speaking even though hes just supposed to be featured in the video. But hey, when youve got friends in high places and you find somebody who wants to spice-up his fan base with a little extra attention, you get more than you ever expect.

Again or at least this would be the general assumption if you take a peek at her latest album cover. It would seem that Rihanna has managed to grow a bit of hair and it certainly looks a lot more decent that her previous little experiment. The new album is called Loud, which probably hints that Rihanna has been experimenting with metal again or so she might believe. Its time to see if her success is still alive and breathing Since she decided to work with Eminem recently that might hint at a bit of a crisis but its probably nothing Rihanna cant handle.

Eminem is going to get paid as a federal appeals court has found that the rappers former production company FBT Productions LLC is entitled to royalties by Universal Music Group for music downloaded over iTunes or sold as cell phone ringtones. The appeals court ruled that the contracts between the two companies unambiguously applies to permanent downloads and master-tones which entitles Eminem and his producers to a 50-50 split for recordings licensed to iTunes and other digital distributors. Its being said that this ruling could potentially affect how record labels and artists make financial deals in the future. Thats definitely something to watch out for.
Hipsters were able to rejoice last week with Arcade Fire taking over the top spot on the Billboard charts but their celebration with the indie band will have to get cut short as music industry experts say that Eminems Recovery is making, for lack of a better term, big recovery back to the number one spot in its eighth week on the charts. Congratulations in advance go out to the rapper! Its a well deserved spot. As for Arcade Fire, all hope is not lost. If they can maintain good sales, they have a chance at staying in the top 10 for a good while.

After five weeks at the top of the mountain, Eminems album Recovery was beaten by rock band Avenged Sevenfolds new release Nightmare. It was a close call though with the rapper coming in less than 4,000 units behind the rock stars on Nielsen Soundscan charts. I find it very cool for a rock band to make its way to the top of the charts especially in the world of such mainstream sounding music these days. I wonder if theyll be able to hold strong to the number one spot for more than just one week. Congratulations to Avenged Sevenfold! And well done to Eminem for making it to five weeks.

If all you has-beens are planning to make a comeback, you may want to learn a couple of things from Eminem. The rappers latest disc Recovery is holding strong at the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the fourth straight week, selling 195,000 copies. Congratulations to Eminem! Hopefully, he doesnt veer off the path that hes on now and keeps on giving us great music. I have to admit that I missed the guy. I wonder if he managed to dethrone Katy Perry on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and took the top honors there too.
Kylie Minogue, the well known Australian star lives another success story in the music world. It seems that the singers new album Aphrodite is received very well by listeners, or at least thats what the great number of copies sold tell us. Though till last week Eminem with his Recovery was number one, Kylie Minogue made it to the top and dethroned him. The album Aphrodite was sold in twice the number of copies than the album of the American rapper. Recently Kylie became the proud aunt of her sisters new born son.
