US rocker Travis Barker said he is ‘thankful’ to have known his late pal DJ AM this Thanksgiving.

The 34-year-old drummer was good friends with DJ AM, full name Adam Goldstein, who died in August this year after suffering an accidental drug overdose.

The pair escaped death in a plane crash in September 2008, in which two members of their crew and two other passengers lost their lives.

He wrote on his Twitter page: “Excited 2 be alive and healthy. Thankful 2 have known DJAM, Chris & Che. Thankful 4 everything & everybody in my life. Happy Thanksgiving.”

Barker is also referring to Chris Barker and Charles ‘Che’ Still, who were two of the plane crash victims last year.

MTV has decided that they will air ?Gone Too Far?, the documentary series on young drug addicts that the late DJ AM finished just three days before he died from an accidental overdose. The network says that they got the consent and support of the late entertainer?s family before choosing to run the eight-episode series which features him working with real life drug addicts and their families to help them overcome substance abuse. MTV released a statement saying ?It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others.? The series will premiere on Monday.

Travis Barker has taken to Twitter to mourn the loss of his close friend DJ AM.

The pair were close pals and were the only survivors of an horrific plane crash back in September 2008 that left them both badly burned.

DJ AM was found dead in his New York apartment on August 28. He was 36.

Now Barker has been leaving messages on his Twitter page, revealing how much he is already missing DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein.

Barker wrote: “Don’t know how i am gonna play 2night but i am for AM. My brother is gone. i love u and miss u, i’ll never forget all the good times we had.”

He then shortly followed that with another Tweet: “I’ll never forget everything we’ve been thru and every time i play the drums i’ll think of you. U were an amazing friend/DJ/human being.”

And finally Barker wrote: “Rest In Peace my brother, this really f***s me up.”

DJ AM?s Reality

Ξ April 21st, 2009 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Music, TV Show |

The executives over at MTV have teamed up with DJ AM to create a new reality show. The program is tentatively titled ?Gone Too Far? and it will be about staging interventions on young people who are hooked on drugs. AM, who has battled his own drug addiction in the past, will be present during the intervention process along with an addiction specialist. I?m glad that they finally have something positive to show and not just the usual fake drama on ?The Hills?. However, the show seems to be very similar to the Emmy-nominated A&E show, ?Intervention?. MTV should really just go back to showing music related stuff.
