Katherine Jackson is being sued for $13 million.

A South Korean newspaper has filed legal papers against the Jackson family matriach, claiming she owes millions from a loan that was taken out in 1994.

According to a report on TMZ.com, the Segye Times is going after every dollar Katherine makes until she pays off the alleged $13 million debt.

The publication has filed legal papers with the Michael Jackson estate, informing the court it got a judgment against Katherine in 1994 for $4 million.

The newspaper claims it advanced Katherine, Joe and Jermaine $5.5 million for a series of Jackson family concerts back in 1994 that never took place.

The Segye Times now claims that with interest the judgment exceeds $13 million, and it wants an order from the judge forcing the estate to pay the paper any money the estate might give to Katherine.

Snoop Dogg Shocked About Festival Ban

Ξ June 24th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Concert, Snoop Dogg |

Snoop Dogg’s reps are saying that the rapper was shocked after he found out that he was dropped from the Parkpop festival in The Netherlands. The festival’s organizers said that they were looking for an act that would match the open and friendly character of the concert and apparently, Snoop didn’t cut it. The rapper’s camp is saying that he has played these gigs many times before and they’re shocked that he got banned. His manager wrote in a statement “Snoop Dogg is astonished by the decision of the Mayor of The Hague, a town in the south of Holland, to not allow him to perform at the free festival, Parkpop. There’s been much speculation that, given the enormous response by Snoop’s fans to the free festival, the local authorities would not be able to provide sufficient security. Mojo, the largest concert promoter in Holland says, ‘We have never had any issues with Snoop, who has played magnificent shows at many of the festivals we promote such as Lowlands, North Sea Jazz and at several other promoted shows by Mojo.’ Snoop is a mainstay at music festivals all over the world and has performed at all of these without incident.”

Bret Michaels will perform

Ξ May 30th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Concert, Poison |

It’s going to be just a little show in little casino Mississippi, but who’s to say he won’t be going on tour too? After all, if Bret Michaels can do a show, why not 5 or 6 or 10? However, his doctor doesn’t really consider that Bret Michaels is truly ready to get back on stage and this is what he said about the show: “Bret will be slower on stage … not a lot of dancing and will take it easy.” Surely everyone will be happy to see the Poison singer back on stage and his managers might just get a sound night of sleep knowing it as well. It’s the first step to a full recovery.

Though Maroon 5?s third album isn?t set to be released until September, the band is already getting ready for a North American tour to celebrate the release. That record better be good! I heard that they locked themselves in a mountain in Switzerland for months working on their new music. The tour kicks off with a concert in Saratoga Springs, New York on July 30 and will wrap up on August 29 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. More tour dates are still being organized. Joining Maroon 5 on tour will be a rotating set of opening acts that include Owl City, Guster, Kris Allen, VV Brown and Ry Cuming.

Chris Brown Blows Up

Chris Brown disappointed what little fans he had left by losing his cool with a radio DJ in Richmond this past weekend. The DJ played back the very short interview for fans, explain that before he could even ask the R&B singer a question, Chris started screaming about not getting enough airplay. The DJ said ?Chris Brown was going to come in today to do an interview to promote his concert? But before we could even get into the interview, homeboy starts yelling at me, wondering why we don’t play his records. And I said, Mr Chris Brown? you just don’t have any hits and that’s just the truth. You don’t have any hits right now.’ And? from there the whole interview just goes south.? Chris was heard screaming ?All I’m saying is that you don’t play my s**t. What number is it (my song) at? It don’t matter. Why am I even doing this interview? I ain’t doing this s**t.? It?s been said that the station was inundated with calls from Jive with each person apologizing for Chris? behavior.

Green Day Musical Gets Slammed

Ξ April 23rd, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Green Day, Soundtrack |

Green Day?s ?American Idiot? musical opened this past Tuesday to crappy reviews. One reporter said ?I wish I could tell you I loved ?American Idiot?. It looks good; it sounds good; it features a talented and hardworking cast. But I can’t. It’s fun. But it’s also, amid all the booming rock, a little dull.? Theatre critics are in love with the show?s soundtrack but most find that the musical lacks a good story. Another critic wrote ?Thanks for the music, Green Day. But, jeez, couldn’t you have spared a story? And a couple of characters who aren’t cliched stick-figures? Because that’s what a Broadway musical needs to make it more than just a music video or a concert. Unfortunately American Idiot comes up short on both those counts.?

Rihanna is apparently learning how to rock out on the drums from former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker. According to People, the 22-year old Barbadian singer, who spent some time with a drum set in her video for ?Rude Boy?, is learning how to play so she can perform live on her upcoming tour of Europe. As for how Rihanna?s lessons are doing, Travis seems to be impressed with her work as he went on his Twitter to say ?She JAMS!!!!! Watch out for her!!? It should definitely prove to be a treat for anyone who would be catching Rihanna in concert.

Four people were badly injured at the Maharaja Organization in Sri Lanka when protesters hurled rocks at the building of the sponsor for Akon?s upcoming concert. Religious locals have taken offense to the R&B singer?s video ?Sexy Chick? which features groups of half naked women dancing at a pool party in front of a Buddha statue. Almost 200 protesters showed up outside the office holding posters and then taking a violent turn by smashing windows and destroying parked cars. The four injured network employees received immediate medical attention while police took several protesters into custody. However, it is unclear if they will face any charges.

A source said ?The audience got angry and started to mount the stage, and fight and destroy everything. It was wild. There were fights everywhere, on the dance floor, in the bathrooms, outside the club. Crazy. I guess the free drinks didn’t help.? I wonder if they have the balls to reschedule.

After so many wasted opportunities and declined invitations, it seems Jay-Z finally found the time in his busy schedule to go and have a chat with president Barrack Obama. It probably wasn?t the lunch the president was hoping for, but Jay-Z was probably pretty strapped for time since he was just in the neighborhood so to speak as he had a concert in Washington DC. Of course the fact that the meeting was brief didn?t stop Jay-Z from telling his concert audience that he finally got to have a chat with one of his biggest fans, President Barrack Obama. There?s a real ham for you!

Prince is blaming his agents at William Morris Endeavor for booking the event without permission but MCD is saying that the icon gave no reason of substance for the cancellation. William Morris returned the $1.5 million booking fee that MCD paid after the cancellation but MCD also paid $949,760 to use the Croke Park location in Dublin. MCD is seeking compensation for financial loss and damage to commercial reputation.

Whitney Houston Sucks

Crack is whack and now we know why. After a concert in Australia on Monday, fans walked out of Whitney Houston?s concert early declaring it a disappointment. It?s being rumored that the singer is in fragile health and although her reps deny the claims, there?s no arguing that she isn?t what she used to be. The former diva only sang two songs before she exited the stage to take a break. She appeared out of breath, coughed through songs and when she returned to sing through six more numbers, she handed the mic over to her brother Gary to sing. A concertgoer said ?She was not fit to perform. She seemed to be on another planet, and the concert was laughable. When the back up singer’s performance is the stand out for the night you know something is wrong.?

On concertgoer suffered a compound leg fracture while fans pushed forward and knocked the fence over. The band had only been playing for 10 seconds when the riot took place. Guitarist and singer Wade MacNeil said ?We were all so excited that you completely decimated the whole barrier. The reality of the situation is that it’s completely destroyed and it’s really dangerous and there’s an incredible amount of sharp objects up here and a lot of people got hurt when that happened.? The show was cancelled but reports are saying that another gig will take place to make up for it.

Lady GaGa gets charitable

Ξ January 18th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Lady Gaga |

It seems that the fever of charity for the disaster that struck Haiti recently is gripping everyone. Lady GaGa is the latest to be added to the list as she has promised that all of the proceeds from her next New York show will go to Haiti. Lady GaGa tweeted the following for all her fans who will be attending: “Save your money. Help save a life.” It?s getting so as a nation could actually build an economy out of a natural disaster if this keeps up. Interesting that Lady GaGa chose the New York crowd for this? but why just one concert? There surely is much more where that came from.

Reason Behind Michael Jackson Threat

According to FBI documents, the guy who threatened to kill Michael Jackson also threatened to slaughter people at a concert of the King of Pop, and it all appears to be a scheme to get a woman to take notice. The guy wrote ?I’ll commit mass murder at a Michael Jackson concert if necessary, in an attempt to murder Michael, then you will have to deal with my situation in the public eye.? The guy appears to be obsessed with a woman and is making these threats to get her attention. He even wrote some letters to newspapers saying ?I’m 33 years old and never had a real relationship in my life. I can’t even slow dance.? It?s a good thing they caught the guy because he is seriously whack!

I thought stoners were typically peaceful and non-violent but that was thrown out the window when a concertgoer threw a wallet at Kid Cudi during the rapper?s concert at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver this past Friday night. The rapper then hopped off of the stage and threw a punch over the barricade ? at the wrong person! Oops! I believe that it?s about time for someone to get a lawyer and set things right. Of all the things to throw, why a wallet? Unless it doesn?t have any cash in it and no identification, the guy who threw it is absolutely stupid.

Rapper Busta Rhymes has just been ordered to pay $75,000 to concertgoer Alex Duncan after throwing water bottles at him. Alex went to a 2003 concert to see rapper Fabolous who didn?t show up to the show. He then went to leave once Busta came on stage which caught the has-been?s attention. He and Alex then got into some sort of argument. Busta got mad and yelled ?I?m not good for you?? and then threw the water bottles at the 32-year old. Alex claims that he suffered psychological damages and even has nightmares because of the attack. Busta ended up having to pay up after the rapper failed to show up to any of the 7 court hearings.

Adam Lambert?s GMA Replacement

While Adam Lambert was deemed too controversial to be part of Good Morning America?s concert series, Chris Brown apparently isn?t. Their priorities are definitely screwed up. The R&B singer, who pled guilty to assault against Rihanna, will do a taped tell-all interview with Robin Roberts over the incident, while the openly gay singer?s harmless kiss was too much for the public. Rightfully so, many gay activists and feminists are furious over the decision. A source at ABC said ?The network is giving a mixed message ? that it doesn’t trust someone who shocked with an unpredictable show and a gay kiss, but then it is happy to go ahead with Chris Brown, who was convicted of felony assault. Chris Brown’s interview was booked way before Adam Lambert took to the stage. It is to give him a chance to respond to Rihanna’s interview. The possibility of him performing a song will be worked out next week.?

The buses were on the way to Greensboro, North Carolina for a show this past Sunday when one of the 4 vehicles in the singer?s convoy drifted off the road and overturned. One person, the bus driver, died, while 9 others sustained minor injuries. State police said that the roads were wet from rain the night before but were not to blame for the crash. An investigation went on to determine why the bus drifted. Early reports are saying that the driver suffered a cardiac arrest while driving. Mind you, Miley?s concert in North Carolina went on as planned.

Robbie Williams Bails on Tours

Robbie Williams has decided that he will no longer have any concert tours because of the terrible side effects he has endured because of them. The singer admits that he ends up in rehab or fat after every tour so now, he?s scrapping it altogether. Here?s a crazy idea ? maybe you could use some of your millions to hire a touring trainer and actually pay attention long enough in rehab so you won?t have to go back. That way, you can avoid all these issues and be able to keep your career afloat. That?s just a thought though. But if he?s hell bent on not touring anymore, at the very least, there?s less chance for us to hear him botch his own songs.

A rabid male fan crashed the stage at a Jonas Brothers concert this past weekend in Madrid. I never knew they actually had male fans, but anyway. Unlike Britney Spears who infamously screamed when the same thing happened to her at one of her gigs, the band of cuties just kept on playing. It was a pretty hilarious sight. The guys were still playing and singing their little hearts out while the fan was running around in circles trying to get away from security and ripping his shirt off. There?s yet another story that they can tell the grandkids ? not!

Britney Spears Angers Fans

Britney Spears reportedly hit out in her hotel room this past weekend after she angered her fans at her concert the past week for lip synching. The fact that they expected her to sing live considering who she was is beyond me. All of Australia rallied against the pop singer upon landing in the country last week, criticizing her for charging loads of money for a concert that wasn?t live. And yet they still went to the show. Where?s the logic in the whole thing? If they didn?t like the fact that she doesn?t sing live, they shouldn?t have bought tickets. It?s not like she?s known for singing live.

California, US: U2 have confirmed via video blog that their sold-out concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California, Sunday 25th October 2009 will be streamed free, in full and live on YouTube. It’s the first time a show of this size will be streamed live.

The Rose Bowl show is the penultimate U2 show this year – with more to come in 2010 – and already is set to host the venue?s biggest ever audience of over 96, 000 fans. The 360? Tour, which has been critically acclaimed and ?re-invents rock?n?roll?*, will now boast unique access for fans worldwide – as fans in territories yet to be visited by the tour, or not at all, will be able to enjoy the whole show online. Managed in partnership with Live Nation, this sell-out tour has broken attendance records in most venues it has visited – its success due in part to increased capacity coupled with a lower ticket price and great sight lines afforded by the stunning in-the-round stage set. Visit U2.com or youtube.com/u2official for details of how to join in this ground-breaking on-line event.

U2 manager Paul McGuinness said – “The band has wanted to do something like this for a long time. As we’re filming the LA show, it’s the perfect opportunity to extend the party beyond the stadium. Fans often travel long distances to come to see U2 – this time U2 can go to them, globally.”

YouTube will be streaming live across five continents. The show will be available in the usual You Tube way, as video-on-demand, following two full replays – after the live stream – on both U2.com and You Tube.

“YouTube is thrilled to be able to provide our global audience with a live streaming performance from one of the world’s greatest bands” – Chris Maxcy, Director of YouTube Partner Development. “We are always looking for new ways to connect fans around the world with their favourite artists, and this is the perfect opportunity to do just that.”
