Adele has been forced to postpone two UK concert dates after falling ill to a nasty chest infection. The singer withdrew from her performances at the Plymouth Pavillions and at the Bournemouth International Centre. Adele released a statement on her official website, saying “hi guys, sorry about the first 2 shows. im as useless as a slug right now, ive had a rotten cold since i got home earlier this week and was hoping it wouldnt make its way onto my chest. but unfortunately it has and its leaving me breathless and i cant hold any of my notes when i sing.” Get well soon!
Selena Gomez is a pretty nice girl with a great personality. But as far as her talents as a singer, the Disney star leaves much to be desired. Selena recently had a mini concert on Good Morning America at Central Park in New York City. She sang her little heart out for thousands of fans. The only word I could think of after her performance was disappointing. I’m not sure if this is how she really performs live since I’ve never paid much attention to her or if she’s still not feeling 100% good after being hospitalized for food poisoning and exhaustion.

Rihanna has reportedly signed a 3-year partnership with The Barbados Tourism Authority to exclusively promote the island destination as a tourist spot, starting August 5th with a performance of her “Loud” concert in Bridgetown. The R&B singer will also exclusively do promotional work through ad campaigns and appearances, specifically during the Brazilian leg of her tour. Rihanna said “Barbados is a place like no other and one of the reasons for this is the spirit and national pride of our people. I want each and every visitor to this beautiful island to experience what makes this destination different from all others and that is the spirit and warmth of my fellow Barbadians.”
Britney Spears kicked off her much anticipated “Femme Fatale” tour last night at the Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento. As it was previously revealed, the pop singer’s set list consisted of 22 full songs, comprising of her huge back catalogue of hit music, going all the way to her first album “Baby… One More Time”. Of course, the concert was filled with new tracks from her “Femme Fatale” album as well, with the closing song being “Til the World Ends”. Britney also sang her hits “If You Seek Amy”, “Gimme More”, “I Wanna Go”, “Womanizer” and her new song “Lace and Leather”.
Rihanna kicked off her “Loud” world tour this past Saturday in Baltimore, Maryland. Among her exciting and lengthy set list, the R&B singer performed her brand new and controversial single “Man Down”. After the premiere of the music video for the song, the US Parents Television Council immediately went out to accuse Rihanna that the video was “an apparent enticement to young women to turn to violence”. She has since addressed the issue on BET’s 106 & Park and on Twitter. And to shut it all out, Rihanna did a killer performance of “Man Down” during her concert. Work it!

American rock band Kings of Leon recently premiered the official music video for their song “Back Down South”. The track is the third single to be lifted off of their latest album “Come Around Sundown”. The song is so relaxing and there’s just something about it that makes me want to smile. As for the Casey McGrath-directed video, it perfectly captured the song’s essence as a great homage to the south lifestyle. It also shows footage from the band performing a live concert outdoors in a rural setting in front of a group of a group of lucky members of the Kings of Leon fan club.

Next to take the American Idol stage was James Durbin, dressed in all black with lots of spikes and studs, performing with rock and roll legends Judas Priest on “Breaking the Law”. James was clearly having the time of his life. This whole performance screamed so much of an actual concert for me. There were some serious pyro going on and just an all out amazing performance. James even got a standing ovation from the judges. Why couldn’t he have been part of the top 2? It would have been a more exciting finale night if he was. America was shocked last night when American Idol favorite James Durbin didn’t get a coveted spot in the top 3. Most fans expected Haley Reinhart to be going home, especially with the amount of negative comments that she’s been getting from the judges. I actually thought this season was James’ for the taking. He may not have the best vocals each and every week but he’s the only guy who really went out there to perform and gave the crowd an amazing show. I always felt like he was doing his solo concert every week. Needless to say, I think James will be fine once he hits the real world of music. However, that doesn’t prevent me from saying that he got robbed.

Hip hop band Black Eyed Peas have recently announced that they plan to officially retire their 2005 hit “My Humps” and will no longer perform it live in concert. Rapper will.i.am explains “For a while, [we did] My Humps and then it got to the point where we didn’t want to play My Humps no more. You know, ’cause, ‘I met a girl down at the disco,’ I just didn’t want to say that no more, lyrically.” Or maybe the song just gets way too annoying after a while. I know that’s how I feel about it so I can’t blame them for wanting to retire it.
Katy Perry hasn’t even started her North American tour yet but she’s already added a handful of new concert dates. The pop singer has added 8 more stops on her California Dreams tour in September. The new dates include San Antonio on September 7, New Orleans on September 8, Louisville on September 10, Grand Rapids on September 11, Columbus on September 13, Indianapolis on September 14, Omaha on September 16 and Tulsa on September 17. ABC’s Good Morning America just aired Britney Spears’ mini concert which was taped last Sunday at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Rihanna’s tour may not be doing so well in the US but she’s doing great in the UK. It has just been announced that the R&B singer will play a ninth concert at the O2 Arena in London , scheduled for December 22. The tickets have gone on sale today so make sure you snatch them up. If her ticket sales for the UK are anything to go by, they’re going to get sold out pretty quickly. If you’re one to keep count, Rihanna has now beat out pop star Britney Spears who managed to do eight shows at the O2 on her Circus tour.

Actually Kesha’s interaction was of such an observable nature that it prompted one of the onlookers to say the following about it: “They were getting right into it. They were practically fornicating.” Well they were attending one of Rihanna’s concerts, after all… and Kesha has established a reputation as a somewhat rambunctious being… so it’s no wonder she and Calvin Harris left the concert together before it was even over. The Beatles star Paul McCartney was spotted enjoying a Lady Gaga concert in New York. The 68-year-old rocker took his girlfriend Nancy Shevell, 47, to the star’s recent gig in Madison Square Garden where he sat near the stage enjoying the show. A source told UK newspaper the Daily Star: "He is one of the most famous people on the planet but Macca didn’t ask for any special treatment. "While he could have had his pick of a private box he insisted he get to hang out with the rest of Gaga’s fans, the Little Monsters. He wanted a regular date night with his missus."
Rihanna has recently added some new dates to her “Loud” tour and she’s decided to take hip hop singer Cee-Lo Green on the road with her. The 22-year old Barbadian R&B singer added ten new concert dates to her tour, which is set to kick off in June. Shows in Montreal, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Houston, Dallas, Albuquerque, and Boston are now scheduled. Cee-Lo recently issue a statement regarding his part on the tour, saying “I want to thank Rihanna for inviting me on our version of ‘50 First Dates,’ only difference is she’s unforgettable fine. Don’t tell her I have a crush on her, don’t wanna mess everything up. But honestly it’s an honor and a blessing to be able to go out with a talent such as hers and I look forward to doing my part to make the tour unforgettable for the fans that come out and see us.”
The singer recently shared what exactly her stage experience feels like with all of her fans out there. Apparently when Lady GaGa is on stage she feels like she has this very intimate and raw passionate relationship with all of her fans. These were her words on the matter: “Sometimes, being on stage is like having sex with my fans. They’re the only people on the planet who, in an instant, can make me just lose it.” Right… well, most of Lady GaGa’s fans are probably very thrilled to hear that… and they’ll be looking forward to her next concert with much, much anticipation. Kanye West has cancelled his November 26 Today Show concert in the wake of his torturous interview with Matt Lauer. The rapper went on Twitter to announce the news, saying Im not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. Im so happy the world got to see just a small piece of the set up. According to the bands manager Irving Azoff, Van Halen is reportedly plotting a tour for next year. Irving revealed the news while fulfilling his duties as Live Nation Ticketmaster chairman at a concert promoters meeting this past Monday. If youre a fan of the rock icons, dont get too excited though. Irving has broken promises before. He also promised that Van Halen would have a tour this year but it never happened. It would be cool if the 2011 tour does happen though. But they need to make up for making us anticipate a tour this year that never took place.
Usher is getting ready to head out on the road for a tour. Starting in November, the R&B singer will tour North American and visit 25 cities to bring his music to his fans. The tour kicks off with a concert in Seattle, Washington on November 10 and will wrap up on December 18 in Hartford, Connecticut. Its good to note that while he was rumored to be going on tour with Usher at one point, Chris Brown will not be joining his fellow music artist. Who needs him anyway? 22-year old Charles Haddon of the band Ou Est Le Swimming Pool committed suicide last Friday night after he jumped off a telecommunications mast and into a parking lot at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium. This comes in the same week that a man jumped to his death at a Swell Season concert. This is unbelievably awful and tragic. I cant even begin to think about the trauma that the people who had to witness the event may have. My thoughts go out to the family and friends of Charles and to the people who saw the tragedy. May Charles rest in peace.

Protesters from the Westboro Baptist Church made their disdain for the pop singer known with their presence outside his concert in Kansas City, Missouri. That in turn made many parents make their disdain for the protesters known as well. An angry mother screamed at the protesters He has not done anything wrong. He’s here to entertain the public, I guess just like she’s here to entertain the public. He has not done anything wrong. The new queen of Disney TV, Selena Gomez, has reportedly lost her voice and subsequently has had to cancel a few of her concerts. Fans of the actress/singer in Delaware and Ohio who were hoping to see Selena live were disappointed to find out that she wont be able to perform at their state fairs due to some strained vocal chords. Unfortunately for the fans in Delaware, arrangements could not be made to reschedule and will instead be offered refunds and a free concert from AllStar Weekend. Despite being injured in a very scary stage mishap during her concert in Nurnberg, Germany last Thursday, the hardcore rock star otherwise known as Pink will not be letting a trip to the emergency room stop her from doing her thing, as the singer has chosen to forge ahead with her European tour as scheduled. Ne-Yo has been slapped with a lawsuit from the promoters of his cancelled 2008 New Years Eve concert in Washington State. The promoter claims that not only was he not refunded the money for the cancelled gig by the R&B singers booking agent, but he also has a damaged reputation. The lawsuit seeks $1 million in damages, to refund the $95,000 deposit and the rest to clean up his rep. Why did Ne-Yo cancel in the first place? If he has a decent excuse, he may walk away with a win in this court and for the promoter to just have his ruined reputation.
Drakes upcoming Central Park concert which was originally planned for July 16th as part of the Good Morning America concert series has been cancelled. City officials claim that the shows organizers were unable to provide the amount of security needed by the police. If you recall, the same thing happened for the singer/rappers proposed June 10th concert at South Street Seaport after 25,000 fans showed up. Drake is just too popular for his own good. I just feel sorry for all those fans who are missing yet another show. But then again, safety is a huge issue that has to be dealt with properly.
