British pop band The Wanted has recently premiered the music video for their song “Gold Forever”. The track is their latest single and the official 2011 Comic Relief song – a charity single in the UK. The song is a feel good tune with mid tempo ballad-like verses and a cheerful synth-minded chorus. As for the video, it’s good. It’s nothing ground breaking or utterly original but it goes quite well with the song’s spirit. The guys seemed to have a great time shooting the video so that should be enough reason to check it out. What do you guys think?

Now this is how you score popularity points. After performing for Libya’s Colonel Gaddafi on New Year’s Eve of 2009, Beyonce has apparently decided that the best thing to do with her earnings from that show would be to donate them to Haiti. This is what Beyonce’s publicist said on the matter: “All money paid to Beyonce for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year’s Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago. Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause.” This is certainly going to give Beyonce an even better popular image… and it might even serve as a good example for some artists out there.
The teenage pop singer might just be on to some very practical and popular fad. For his birthday which is today, Justin Bieber wants his fans to donate seventeen dollars to charity as a birthday gift. This is what Justin Bieber had to say to his fans on his birthday: “I want to make my birthday matter this year – let’s make it so more kids can grow up to have a 17th birthday like me. Join me to make a change. I’m really so grateful for my family, friends and fans – and I believe we can do something big to help bring clean water to people in need. Even if you don’t have $17 to give I just ask you to go out in your community and try and make a positive difference. Even the smallest act of kindness can go a long way. Thanks and God Bless!” If this is the kind of gift that Justin Bieber likes for his birthday hopefully he has been very, very generous in buying himself something too.
British boy band The Wanted kick off their 2011 with a brand new single called “Gold Forever”. The new track will serve as this year’s Comic Relief song (charity single) in the UK. “Gold Forever” is a mid tempo ballad with a feel good vibe. It’s also infused with some electronica and dance elements. It’s not the best but it’s not bad either. I actually kind of like it. The Wanted may have their most clear opportunity to score a hit with the Comic Relief support as well as having no big competition for when it’s released. And if you’re wondering when that is, the song will be available in the UK on March 13th.

Just because Wyclef Jean cant be President of Haiti doesnt mean that hes giving up on being such a preachy person. Sources are confirming that the hip hop singer has accepted a position as a visiting fellow at Rhode Islands Brown University. For the upcoming school year, Wyclef will be enlightening minds in the African Studies department in a position he says will give him a chance to have a period of learning and reflection. Wyclefs primary objective is to talk about his work with the Haiti Initiative charity organization. Maybe he could enroll in some political science classes while hes at it so he can have some background for when he wants to run for the presidency again.
It seems that the band has other things on their agenda rather than selling out concerts or albums. The guys from Linkin Park were recently present at a construction site in California where they helped out to build eco-homes for the needy. Apparently this is all part of Linkin Parks Music for Relief charity. Even though theyre not out there selling-out, this course of action might just help them to do that. After all, any eco-freak is bound to support Linkin Park in endeavors such as this. But it is commendable nonetheless you dont see these guys going out and buying ten million-dollar mansions in California.

He said: “It’s the 25th anniversary and it’s perfect timing. It’s not an accident, man. That’s God. It will be We Are The World for Haiti.”
The music mastermind and talent show king is going to be doing his own part in helping the victims of the Haiti disaster. Simon Cowell will be making a single in which he will gather of bunch of famous voices from around the globe in order to raise money for Haiti. This is what Simon Cowell said on the matter: “It’s very, very short notice. We made the decision today, so I’ve got to get it all together in about 48 hours. It’s going to feature as many people as possible. I haven’t made up my mind on the song yet, I’ve got a couple of ideas. It will be a cover version, yeah.” Why donate yourself when you can make others do it for you? and maybe gather up a little extra for the effort. And if anybody can do that, then it?s most definitely Simon Cowell.
It seems that the fever of charity for the disaster that struck Haiti recently is gripping everyone. Lady GaGa is the latest to be added to the list as she has promised that all of the proceeds from her next New York show will go to Haiti. Lady GaGa tweeted the following for all her fans who will be attending: “Save your money. Help save a life.” It?s getting so as a nation could actually build an economy out of a natural disaster if this keeps up. Interesting that Lady GaGa chose the New York crowd for this? but why just one concert? There surely is much more where that came from.

The 29-year-old is performing the Australian leg of her successful Funhouse tour and she recently attended a charity dinner.
She said on her Twitter page: “Went to an amazing fundraiser dinner tonight for the Sydney Theatre Company, and surprisingly was able to raise 32,000 buckaroonies 4 a song.”
The singer added: “I sang Mr President and got to hang with the incredibly dazzling Cate Blanchett. I’ve come a long way from McDonalds!!!!”
Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, also said that she was thrown a bash by her record label just before.
She added on Twitter: “Was a big night! Right b4 that my record company threw me a spiffy soiree to celebrate the tour and 9x platinum. I’m gushing, but I’m just happy.”

British pop star Natasha Bedingfield is joining forces with royalty to raise money for charity.
The singer has teamed up with Prince Harry to raise funds for their African charities.
The pair have been secretly working on the project for months and plan on staging a huge Live-Aid style concert.
Also well as hoping to sell thousands of tickets to music fans, they want to have the concert broadcast around the world next year.
Natasha’s mother, Molly Bedingfield, runs her own international children’s charity, Global Angels, for which her daughter is an ambassador.
She has had several meetings with Harry and the team who run his Sentebale charity, which supports orphans and vulnerable children in Lesotho, the tiny nation entirely surrounded by South Africa.
Natasha, 27, first joined forces with Harry, 24, two years ago when she sang at Princess Diana’s memorial concert.
A source close to the project said: “There will be a flagship concert in 2010 that will be televised around the world. Molly and Harry have had several meetings about it.”

Sources have revealed the exact division of Michael Jackson?s assets, according to his will. The singer?s mother, Katherine Jackson, will get 40% of his assets. Michael?s three children will also be getting 40% and the remaining 20% will be divided up for several children?s charities. No specific charities were specified in the document, so the California state Attorney General, who is in charge and regulates the state?s charitable foundations, has filed legal papers to ensure that the funds actually go to charity. There?s still no word as to gets the 50% share holdings at Sony/ATV music publishing catalogue, which controls many of the songs from the Beatles.
