We finally found out which two singers will be battling it out on American Idol season 10’s finale next week. After all the commercials, video packages and guest performances, Ryan Seacrest was handed the envelope, the lights were dimmed and someone was sent home. I was hoping for the top 2 to be Scotty McCreery and Haley Reinhart but after the performance night seeing Haley deal with some of the toughest songs and the judges siding more with Lauren Alaina, I was really nervous about the elimination. And apparently, I had reason to be when Ryan revealed that it was Haley that was going home. They may be touted as the most talented bunch but this season had robbed so many great singers that I’m saying this sucks the most.

America was shocked last night when American Idol favorite James Durbin didn’t get a coveted spot in the top 3. Most fans expected Haley Reinhart to be going home, especially with the amount of negative comments that she’s been getting from the judges. I actually thought this season was James’ for the taking. He may not have the best vocals each and every week but he’s the only guy who really went out there to perform and gave the crowd an amazing show. I always felt like he was doing his solo concert every week. Needless to say, I think James will be fine once he hits the real world of music. However, that doesn’t prevent me from saying that he got robbed.

Simon Cowell has ordered Cheryl Cole to crack America if she wants to be considered for a role in the US version of The X-Factor, it has been reported. The music mogul apparently urged her to sign a £6million US contract with Universal, so that she can one day be in with a chance of making the show. A source told Now magazine, “Simon told her it was imperative that she breaks the US with her music before she has any shot of doing TV because she is so unknown there. “He is trying to sort out a job for her on the panel, but he knows he won’t be listened to unless she can make a name for herself over there. “Being told she had a slim-to-zero chance of getting the US X-Factor job was a kick in the teeth, so the record contract was quickly a done deal.” The 27-year-old, who divorced ex-husband Ashley Cole earlier this year, is expected to have to spend six hard months promoting her Messy Little Raindrops album.
Justin Bieber is turning out to be one very controversial 16-year old. Protesters from the Westboro Baptist Church made their disdain for the pop singer known with their presence outside his concert in Kansas City, Missouri. That in turn made many parents make their disdain for the protesters known as well. An angry mother screamed at the protesters “He has not done anything wrong. He’s here to entertain the public, I guess just like she’s here to entertain the public. He has not done anything wrong. These are children …these are children… my children can read, my children can see, my children can see that she’s got signs that say ‘God hates America!’”
Kate Hudson was recently spotted with Matt Bellamy, the lead singer of the band Muse, in New York last week after reportedly dating for over a month. It’s only been a few months since the actress and A-Rod broke up but sources say that this new relationship is getting serious and that the couple plans to make the relationship public at Britain’s Glastonbury festival later this month. A source said “Matt has been over to America to hang out with Kate. Things are going so well, Kate was planning to fly out to the UK to hang out with Matt at the festival. She wants to watch the band from the side of the stage and meet his pals.” It makes me wonder if Kate had anything to do with Matt’s split with fiancé Gaia Polloni.
Bret Michaels? is making lots of progress and his sister Michelle says that the Poison lead singer is ?definitely doing better and was starting to walk a little bit!? She continues ?He?s up and moving but it is not going to surprise me if he is still in the ICU on Friday. I think they?re having a problem really getting the bleed?I think there are some issues?that?s why the back pain. What?s happened is all that blood in his brain is starting to drain and he?s starting to have a lot of back pain. It?s been I can hear it in his voice, I know he?s in a lot of pain?He?s so happy that everybody is pulling for him. The fact that he got medical treatment right away, he went immediately and because there is one of the best neurological centers in America there he was very fortunate and I think he will recover quickly and it wouldn?t surprise me to see him back there sooner than most.? America?s attention was captivated when American Idol?s latest season premiered this past Tuesday. The ninth season of the reality TV talent show kicked off with a bang with the premiere episode drawing almost 30 million viewers to the network. Although the numbers have yet to reach the same heights as the show?s fifth season, Fox was actually prepared for the worst. Considering the exit of fan favorite judge Paula Abdul, the network assumed that the ratings share would go way down compared to last year?s numbers. It may not have happened now but it?s bound to happen next year when Simon Cowell will no longer be part of the show ? if there will still be a show that is.
With Simon Cowell planning to bring his British hit The X Factor to America, rumor is going around that he will be leaving American Idol as a result. His contract with the show expires in May and is currently in talks for The X Factor to begin in 2011. If that happens, Simon will almost certainly leave AI which could make this upcoming season the last one, because let?s be honest, it wouldn?t be the same without him. Fox hasn?t made any formal announcements about any programming changes yet so stay tuned! I wonder who is in the running to judge and mentor the US X Factor contestants alongside Simon.

The singer?s hit ?Paparazzi? is still going strong at number 6 on the Hot 100 too! Lady Gaga is also at number 3 on the Digital Songs with 142,000 downloads of ?Bad Romance?. With that, she?s getting ever so close to reaching five number 1 singles from a single album. I have no doubt that it?s going to happen. We all just have to wait just a few more weeks, perhaps even just one.
Cheryl Cole is reportedly set to host a US version of The X Factor.
The star, who recently celebrated her 26th birthday, was reportedly handpicked by boss Simon Cowell, 49, to fly the flag for the show across the Atlantic.
Cole is a judge on the British version of the show and it is claimed NBC bosses will fly to Manchester this weekend to witness her in action at the live auditions.
A source said: “Simon is on the brink of signing a deal to take The X Factor to America and, if he gets his way, Cheryl will be its star. He thinks she has amazing presence and her down-to-earth Northern charm will appeal to the American public.
“She is also an incredibly beautiful girl. She won’t get paid anything like the ?1m salary she’s on here, because obviously she is not as well known in the States. But if it is a success, like most of Simon’s shows are, it could catapult her into the big league.”
