Lady Gaga will be performing a brand new single off the upcoming ‘The Fame Monster’ release, which comes out this November, on Saturday Night Live. The singer is scheduled to take the comedy show’s stage on October 3 so don’t forget to tune in if you want to get your Lady Gaga fix. I think that the show is going to be epic because of her. I can’t wait to see how she’s going to bring her uniqueness to that stage. I’m also wondering if they’re going to have some skits revolving around her. I think that they should have some Gaga skits in there.
Susan Boyle wowed millions across the U.S. as she performed her new single on the finale of America’s Got Talent.
In her first Stateside appearance Boyle, 48, belted out her new single Wild Horses to an estimated TV audience of 25 million.
The Scottish star, nicknamed the ‘Hairy Angel’, appeared on stage in a floor-length black gown and was accompanied by a full orchestra.
SuBo brought the studio crowd to their feet during her cover version of the Rolling Stones classic and received a standing ovation as applause rang around the Hollywood theater.
Shakira, Leona Lewis and even Piers Morgan provided entertainment for the results show before chicken farmer Kevin Skinner, 35, was revealed as the winner of the competition.
The country bumpkin walked away with the US$1 million prize and a contract for his own Las Vegas headlining show after beating cancer-survivor and soprano Barbara Padilla.
The country singer from Mayfield, Kentucky said: “I’ve always loved to perform,” “I want to go out there, and give ‘em the best show I can.”
During the finale Shakira wowed the audience as she performed her new hit single She-Wolf.
The sexy star shook her hips and even straddled a speaker as she hit the stage.
In a comedy montage Piers Morgan proved he is a good sport a former magician who had been cast off performed a trick to reveal him with 75-year-old comedienne Grandma Lee in full wedding garb.
British star Leona Lewis also rocked the smoke-filled stage performing her hit single Happy.
Simon Cowell, pushing the big 5-0, is copping some more flak.
Singer Katy Perry has lashed out at the star judge for his brutally honest approach to the would-be aspirations of the hundreds of reality TV contestants that stand before him.
Cowell must just be recovering from the comment that his fashion sense was “boring” from fellow X Factor judge and style princess Dannii Minogue.
Now Perry has told a film crew: “As much as he’s an a**hole he’s a very truthful, honest a**hole.”
Cowell, 49, was said to have reacted to the comment by saying: “She’s definitely got her own opinion. She’s a feisty solo artist and I like that.”
Brit judge Piers Morgan blasted host Nick Cannon on America’s Got Talent, telling him “You’re the mean one!” after he tricked girl group The EriAm Sisters into thinking they had been voted off the show.
Piers was – almost – speechless after Nick told the girls that they hadn’t made it through to the semis on NBC’s Tuesday night show, then told they had – causing them all to burst into tears.
Afterwards, Nick laughed as he told the girls: “Gotcha!”
Piers then said: “That’s a mean trick you just played, Nick Cannon.
“You’re meaner than me and you call me the bad one. My God!”
David Hasselhoff was thrilled the girls got through with fellow singer Drew Stevyns.
The Hoff stood up and shouted at Nick: “You’re the man!”
Nick tried to defend himself saying: “I’m just doing what it says on the cards.”
Simon Cowell says he would “absolutely not” stay on American Idol if the show slipped from its number one spot on US TV.
The 49-year-old makes his shocking admission as he tops The Hollywood Reporter’s Reality Power List.
Cowell, who heads his own company Syco Television, is just one of four high-profile Brits on the 50-person list that includes Simon Fuller, Gordon Ramsay and Nigel Lythgoe.
The TV judge says: “Being number one is verging on an obsession with me.
“I don’t accept the argument of fragmentation or declining numbers. The Super Bowl goes up every year.”
Despite this admission, Cowell still toys with the idea of leaving American Idol when his contract runs out.
“The idea that for the next five years I’d be doing exactly what I’ve been doing for the past five years … the thought is just too depressing,” he says.
“You have to evolve, you have to change.”
Cowell reportedly earns $36 million a year to do American Idol.
Last Wednesday was the end of the line for American Idol Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds. Two American Idol hopefuls were sent home following after the judges saved Matt Giraud from elimination last week. Lil Round however showed she was worthy to stay on after she sang Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman” for her disco number week. Paul Abdul, who said Lil Round should have sung that way last week, said that was a classy way to go for Lil Rounds.
Lil Rounds sang her farewell song nicely that even Simon Cowell said he remains a massive fan of Lil Rounds. Anoop Desai, who sand Donna Summer’s “Dim All The Lights” was however disappointed when he was told he was going to leave the show. However, he said he was looking forward to his Chapel Hill hometown. Simon Cowell criticized Anoop Desai’s performance saying it was mediocre.
The executives over at MTV have teamed up with DJ AM to create a new reality show. The program is tentatively titled ‘Gone Too Far’ and it will be about staging interventions on young people who are hooked on drugs. AM, who has battled his own drug addiction in the past, will be present during the intervention process along with an addiction specialist. I’m glad that they finally have something positive to show and not just the usual fake drama on ‘The Hills’. However, the show seems to be very similar to the Emmy-nominated A&E show, ‘Intervention’. MTV should really just go back to showing music related stuff.
Did any of you wonder just why you had to dial Idols 36 for Alexis Grace instead of Idols 13? Apparently, the folks over at American Idol have hit a bit of a perverted snag by having a final 13 this year instead of 12. It turns out that the sequenced telephone number for the 13th performer is already in use by a phone sex company. American Idol only owns twelve numbers, 1-866-IDOLS-01 through 1-866-IDOLS-12, and the porn company snatched up 1-866-IDOLS-13. Also, Ryan Seacrest hinted at a changed rule on the elimination show. Simon Cowell did one better by saying that it involves the judges. I’m thinking that while America gets to “pick” the bottom performers, it will be the judges who will do the eliminating. Stay tuned to tonight’s elimination to find out for sure.
Say goodbye to the American Idol Top 12 and say hello to the Top 13. After announcing the three remaining finalists at the end of Thursday’s wild card round, Simon Cowell announced that 22-year old Anoop Desai won a previously unannounced 13th spot in the next round of the singing contest. Simon said “We decided — recently — we’re going to make this a top 13.” The three other wild card finalists were Jasmine Murray, Megan Corkrey and Matt Giraud. Desai, Miurray, Corkrey and Giraud join finalists Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Scott MacIntyre, Jorge Nunez, Lil Rounds and Michael Sarver. Do you have a favourite already?
The shady American Idol semi-finalist Joanna Pacitti has just been disqualified from the competition. Fox released a statement last week explaining the situation as to “avoid the appearance of impropriety”. There has been speculation about the legitimacy of Joanna’s running for the Idol contest including rumors of the aspiring singer being planted in the competition due to a close relationship with certain people close to Joanna Pacitti as well as a former record deal. Did the execs really think that Idol extremists wouldn’t be able to spot her? Joanna has since been replaced in the semis by the more deserving Felicia Barton who will go on to compete in the top 36.
American Idol has even more shadiness going on. In a previous post, several showbiz failures were exposed as being part of the show this season. Star magazine has uncovered more stuff about those contestants that will make Idol purists’ blood boil. Apart from once starring in Broadway show and once having a major record deal, Joanna Pacitti has very close ties to two Idol folks. A snitch told the mage that suits Michelle Young and Roger Widynowski associated with the show have personal connections to Joanna. The 3 of them even lived in the same LA apartment complex for several years. Joanna even refers to Michelle as her manager and best friend, and credits Roger with “helping me get where I am today.”
American Idol continues on its decline as the new season premiered on Tuesday to dismal ratings. The ratings of the season premiere were down 10 percent from last year’s opening. True, the reality show still dwarfs its competition by winning the 2-hour time slow with a16.7 rating but last season’s ratings were at 18.6. This is going to be a tough season for the crew of the show. I hope the changes they planned to help with the ratings actually work. To be honest, I’m only still watching the show to see all the crazy delusional folks get their dreams crushed.
Britney Spears was all smiles when she greeted a crowd of adoring fans after taking the stage on Britain’s version of American Idol, X-Factor, last weekend. For her first live UK performance in over four years, the pop princess who’s trying her hardest to get back in the groove performed her hit single ‘Womanizer’ as the five remaining X-Factor competitors gave their own renditions of a couple of her classics. I didn’t even know her songs can be considered as classics. Britney made her X-Factor appearance as par of a whirlwind publicity tour around Europe for her sixth studio album ‘Circus’.
After a highly interesting American Idol performance show, more because of Paula Abdul rather than the Idol wannabes? performances, another Idol gets the boot. The competition is really tight now as they go from 5 to 4. All the guys were called out first and all of them were deemed safe, leaving Brooke White and Syesha Mercado in the bottom 2. Both were in good spirits as they were asked to sit down for a bit to watch Natasha Beddingfield and Neil Diamond perform. But once it was announced that Brooke was eliminated, tears started to flow. Brooke could hardly even get through her exit song!
Tokio Hotel have just announced they will perform ?Ready, Set, Go!? on Late Night with Conan O?Brien on May 9th.
Thanks to the massive amounts of on-line votes, the diehard Tokio Hotel fans have booked the band another spot on TV with a #2 video (?Ready, Set, Go!?) today on MTV?s TRL.
Tokio Hotel will release the U.S. version of Scream on May 6th.
Chris Cornell went on the record with Billboard.com that he really liked David Cook?s rendition of ?Billie Jean? on American Idol last week ? especially because he did it first. In his interview, the rocker admits that the Idol wannabe ?sang it great? but then adds that ?it was literally a note-for-note take on what I came up with.? And they say Cook is an original. While Chris was given credit for the innovative arrangement on the show, Idol?s imitation also pays Chris off as his cover of ?Billie Jean? has jumped to #12 on iTunes. And by the way, Doxology was finally given credit for their version of ?Eleanor Rigby? which Cook also sang.
It?s not the Oscar?s but Justin Timberlake is still hosting some type of award show. It has just been confirmed recently that JT will be hosting the annual ESPY Awards show this summer. The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre on July 20th. The ESPYs celebrate the best and funniest moments in sports throughout the year. Of the job, Justin said ?I’ll do my best to deliver a great show, as I do not want to be roughed up backstage by these athletes who are bigger, faster and stronger than me.? I?m betting Justin was just named the host to get more of a female audience to watch.
But, hey, whatever works!
After massacring the Beatles? classic ?Eight Days a Week?, American Idol wannabe Kristy Lee Cook is surprisingly still on the show ? and her looks may have something to do with it. Sources are saying that while most of the world was convinced that she was going to get the ax last week and later surprised at David Hernandez?s leaving, the other contestants were making theories on why Kristy was saved. The prevailing theory ? it?s too early to send home a hot chick. Never mind if you can?t sing worth crap, just look hot. Can you say Kellie Pickler and Haley Scarnato?
American Idol Results on March 6, 2008 came out the following American Idol Top 12 name list.

I know you were tuned in to the results show of this week of American Idol. We were down to the Top 24, and it was time for 4 of them to go home – 2 guys, 2 girls.
The first contestant to be sent home was Garrett Haley, the likeable Leif Garrett lookalike. After that, they sent out Amy Davis, a talented but forgetable singer. Next for the guys was Colton Berry, another young one who Simon told to just “get a good job”. Finally, in a surprise move, Joanne Borgella was sent home for the girls.
It is sure to be a wild season full of surprises. We’ll see who ends up at the top in the end.
