Tokio Hotel took home the “Best Group” award at the MTV European Music Awards in Berlin beating out the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers, Kings of Leon and Green Day. Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav also rocked an epic performance of their international single “World Behind My Wall” complete with insane pyro and explosive stage effects. The track appears on the recently released Humanoid album.

Watch Tokio Hotel In The Studio Recording Humanoid

Sneak a peek into the life of Tokio Hotel recording their new album Humanoid. Bill shows off his vocal recording room and discusses his extremely loud recording technique. “Most people use regular ‘headphone volume,’ but I can’t stand it. I need to feel like I’m onstage and I’m standing beside the other guys,” says the front man. The high-tech vocal mixer used on the tracks is what brought the band to Los Angeles to record. The clip also shows guitarist Tom Kaulitz playing the piano – a skill that most fans didn’t know he had. Tokio Hotel also just announced the track listing for Humanoid which is due out on October 6th. The forthcoming release will be available in a standard version which is the key to an exclusive area of the band’s official site. Buyers can access karaoke videos of three new tracks, a behind the scenes picture gallery, and a 3D photo from the “Automatic” video shoot. The deluxe edition includes the twelve songs from the standard version on two discs with four bonus tracks. The album is available for preorder now, and it will be available everywhere on October 6th.

Tokio Hotel Drummer Assaulted

Tokio Hotel drummer Gustav Schaefer found himself in the hospital on Sunday night after a bar brawl at The Club in Magdeburg, Germany. Reports are saying that a man began insulting the musician which led to a fight that ultimately ended with Gustav being smashed on the head repeatedly with a couple of beer bottles. The rocker was rushed to the hospital to treat his wounds, one of which was a 3-centimeter gash on the back of Gustav’s head from the broken glass. The group’s manager released a statement regarding the matter saying “Gustav was admitted to the hospital emergency room around 4.30am. The cuts on his head were stitched up immediately.” Gustav has all intention to press charges.

Tokio Hotel Meet Jonas Brothers

Ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards, their supporters discuss the question with vigor, as to which band is actually the more incredible. There is talk of Tokio Hotel, the most successful German rock band, and the Jonas Brothers, currently America�s greatest pop band. At this year�s VMA awards on September 7th in L.A., they came together in the category �Best Pop Video�, further stoking up the discussion from supporters of both bands. And the question on everybody�s lips � does this translate to competition between the two bands themselves? The truth is there is nothing of the sort, quite the opposite. Tokio Hotel (who won the MTV VMA category �Best New Artist�) and Jonas Brothers have one thing in common: while Tokio Hotel are currently superstars in Europe who are successfully capturing great attention and fans across the United States, the superstars from America, Jonas Brothers, have planned to conquer Europe. No wonder the guys had a lot of things to tell each other, when they met shortly before the MTV VMAs in New York. They got along great and shared a lot of experiences � and for sure there will be more, next time they meet each other.

Tokio Hotel continues to work their way to household name status driven by a fire fueled fan base with an undying love for everything Tokio Hotel. Fans have been making their case for a Tokio Hotel U.S. invasion on message boards, MTV, fan sites, YouTube and everywhere in between with hundreds of thousands of views on videos along with tens of thousands of comments on Tokio Hotel blogs and interviews. The result ? an outpouring of acceptance and backing by both press and news outlets!
