Tokio Hotel took home the award for Best Group earlier this month at MTV’s European Music Awards where they also gave an electrifying performance of “World Behind My Wall.” This guitar-charged ballad is their new, official focus track in the US and follows “Automatic” as the second single off of Humanoid. Tokio Hotel took home the “Best Group” award at the MTV European Music Awards in Berlin beating out the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers, Kings of Leon and Green Day. Bill shows off his vocal recording room and discusses his extremely loud recording technique. “Most people use regular ‘headphone volume,’ but I can’t stand it. I need to feel like I’m onstage and I’m standing beside the other guys,” says the front man. The high-tech vocal mixer used on the tracks is what brought the band to Los Angeles to record. The clip also shows guitarist Tom Kaulitz playing the piano – a skill that most fans didn’t know he had. Tokio Hotel also just announced the track listing for Humanoid which is due out on October 6th. The forthcoming release will be available in a standard version which is the key to an exclusive area of the band’s official site. Buyers can access karaoke videos of three new tracks, a behind the scenes picture gallery, and a 3D photo from the “Automatic” video shoot. The deluxe edition includes the twelve songs from the standard version on two discs with four bonus tracks. The album is available for preorder now, and it will be available everywhere on October 6th.

Tokio Hotel drummer Gustav Schaefer found himself in the hospital on Sunday night after a bar brawl at The Club in Magdeburg, Germany. Reports are saying that a man began insulting the musician which led to a fight that ultimately ended with Gustav being smashed on the head repeatedly with a couple of beer bottles. The rocker was rushed to the hospital to treat his wounds, one of which was a 3-centimeter gash on the back of Gustav’s head from the broken glass. The group’s manager released a statement regarding the matter saying “Gustav was admitted to the hospital emergency room around 4.30am. The cuts on his head were stitched up immediately.” Gustav has all intention to press charges.

Ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards, their supporters discuss the question with vigor, as to which band is actually the more incredible. There is talk of Tokio Hotel, the most successful German rock band, and the Jonas Brothers, currently America?s greatest pop band. At this year?s VMA awards on September 7th in L.A., they came together in the category ?Best Pop Video?, further stoking up the discussion from supporters of both bands. And the question on everybody?s lips ? does this translate to competition between the two bands themselves? The truth is there is nothing of the sort, quite the opposite. Tokio Hotel (who won the MTV VMA category ?Best New Artist?) and Jonas Brothers have one thing in common: while Tokio Hotel are currently superstars in Europe who are successfully capturing great attention and fans across the United States, the superstars from America, Jonas Brothers, have planned to conquer Europe. No wonder the guys had a lot of things to tell each other, when they met shortly before the MTV VMAs in New York. TOKIO HOTEL have cemented their position as one of the biggest acts in Europe by picking up the ‘InterAct’ award at this year’s MTV European Music Awards. The band’s performance of their #1 hit ‘Monsoon’ on the show was watched by a television audience of millions worldwide, and was in the Top Ten of all music videos on Youtube the next day. MTV in the U.S. will be airing the performance during their broadcast of the awards Nov 11 @ 12 Midnight EST/PST, and M2 U.S. will air on Nov 16 @ 9 PM EST/PST, and 17th at 4 AM EST/PST.
The InterAct Award honors the band that has generated the most buzz and fan excitement through the internet. Tokio Hotel went on to win the award, beating out Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Depeche Mode and 30 Seconds To Mars.
The band made up of brothers Bill (vocals) and Tom Kaulitz (guitars) with Georg Listing (bass) and Gustav Schafer (drums). They were only 13 years old when they first laid down a record, and have since become the biggest German artist of the decade – with ‘Schrei’ and ‘Zimmer 483′ spawning four no 1 singles as well as topping album charts themselves.
