Rihanna is having ticket sale problems

Ξ March 22nd, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Concert, Tickets Sale |

Things are apparently not going too well for Rihanna career-wise. It looks like the singer might just have to cancel her “Loud” tour because the ticket sales haven’t been all that good. This is what a source said about Rihanna’s current predicament: “It has been a big disappointment. The ticket sales in big U.S. cities like Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs. Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways.” Who would’ve thought that Rihanna would have problems of this sort? Maybe she might be able to take a few tips from Janet Jackson who was a real superstar when it came to ticket sales a little while back.

One million ticket applications for Michael Jackson’s tribute concert in Vienna

Ξ August 21st, 2009 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Concert, Michael Jackson, Tickets Sale |

Tickets for Michael Jackson’s tribute concert in Vienna have already been applied for by one million people, according to reports.

Michael’s older brother Jermaine is organising a tribute show in Vienna with stars such as Whitney Houston, John Mayer and Lionel Richie lined up to perform, with more artists yet to be announced.

Fans of Jacko rushed to snap up the 85,000 tickets, and the website failed to cope with the pressure and soon crashed.

A memorial service was held at the Staples Center in LA in July where family, friends and other artists paid their respects.

Britney Spears Sells Out

Ξ July 8th, 2009 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Britney Spears, Concert, Tickets Sale |

Australia just can?t get enough of Britney Spears as tickets for the Perth and Sydney stops of the pop star?s Circus tour sold out in minutes. It shouldn?t be much of a surprise as this visit actually marks Britney?s first ever trip down under. It?s no wonder that those tickets went fast. The singer and her camp had since added extra dates to the Australian leg of her tour. Britney?s two engagements in Sydney have now been extended to four and one extra show was tacked onto her appearance in Perth. A recession apparently doesn?t slow down Britney that much. Good for her!

Beyonce Having Sales Problems

Ξ May 29th, 2009 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Beyonce, Concert, Tickets Sale |

It seems that ticket sales for Beyonce?s ?I Am?? tour aren?t so great. The singer?s camp has announced that there will be 1,000 tickets priced at only $20 a pop for each date on the North American leg of her tour. Fans of Beyonce can purchase the cheap tickets via Ticketmaster beginning today. Be careful with those clicks. We all know how Ticketmaster has been doing some shady business. I wonder if Beyonce is gifting her fans with affordable tickets because she?s feeling generous or because they weren?t selling otherwise. I don?t really care much either way. I?m not a big fan of hers to begin with.

Michael Jackson London gig tickets re-selling like hotcakes

Tickets for the comeback and probably farewell gigs recently went on sale online and were reportedly sold within hours of it opening but now those same tickets are exchanging hands at a whopping $10,000 per ticket.

Last week the former king of pop announced July dates for his stage comeback to be held at the famous O2 Arena in London. More than one million people registered to buy tickets and with minutes all of the tickets were snapped up by fans. Seeing the overwhelming response Michael has extend the residency until September meaning the residency run has been more than doubled.

Is this a comeback and farewell show or trying to make up for lost time and earnings, there have been numerous reports time and again about his ill health so if he cannot go past say 15 days of performances and cancels the remaining shows has this man got the resources to repay fans the ticket cost. I completely doubt it.

Britney Spears in for a rough start

The singer?s upcoming tour is not going to have a pretty good start since there are still many unsold tickets for the opening show at New Orleans that will take place tomorrow. A source had this to say about Britney Spears? new predicament: “Group sales are down considerably, and then you’ve got individual tickets that cost as much as $500 apiece. That’s a lot of money to spend on an artist who isn’t a sure bet right now. She’s worked really, really hard to make this good. Granted, there’ve been some hiccups along the way, but she’s going to put on a good show. I just hope there are people there to see it. This is really her last chance.” That sounds tough? but no worries. Britney Spears? father will probably intervene and save his daughter once again. After all, he is the game master lately.

Aerosmith Sells Out

The music industry has officially gone to the gamers. According to RockGamer, in June, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith turned out to be the band?s biggest hit yet. In the game?s first week of sales, it generated more revenue than any Aerosmith album ever! To give you an idea, the band?s latest studio release ?Honkin? on Bobo? had roughly $2 million in sales on its first week while Guitar Hero: Aerosmith grossed roughly around $25 million. Who knew that playing a glorified keytar would turn out to be so popular? Then again, everyone dreams of becoming a huge rock star. Guitar Hero makes that dream possible if even in your own living room.

Avril?s Ticket Sales

Ticket sales for Avril Lavigne?s upcoming tour are sluggish ? and that?s putting it lightly. So, the singer and so-called songwriter held a press conference to try and muck up some interest in her new outing. She talks about the music she wanted to play live saying she ?wanted to play fast, fun songs? and even compared her new album to her previous effort ?Under My Skin?. She also talked about the show being upbeat with the production being bigger in the sense that she will have dancers during a few songs, LED screens, a pink sparkly drum kit and flags. Wow. The pink drum set just made me want to buy a ticket ? NOT!

James Blunt tree hugger

James Blunt tree hugger

Some celebrities really do care about things other than themselves. Apparently ex-army man James Blunt plants a tree every time that he sells a concert ticket online. In the garden of his own home no less.

Well I guess if you have a garden the size of a football pitch there are worse things you could do than grow an orchard. Trees included are apple, orange, avocado, lime and plum.

Fruity.

James says; “I’m really into growing trees these days, trying to do my bit for the environment. In fact, we plant a tree every time we sell a ticket online.”

Rumour has it that to this day James has planted four trees.

Mika Tours

Mika is making his final trek across the US and Canada in January and February. His North American tour is going to be called the ?Dodgy Holiday Tour?. Funny since the holiday season would be over before his tour even kicks off.

The ?Grace Kelly? singer?s tour has twelve dates listed. It will kick off on January 28 in Montreal at the Bell Centre and ends on February 15 in Vancouver at the Orpheum. There?s almost no break in between dates having only the 7th, 9th and 10th of February being free. Tickets for the first two dates go on sale on December 7.
