New from Selena Gomez – Love You Like a Love Song

Ξ June 17th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Selena Gomez, Singers, song |

The official second single to come off of Selena Gomez’s upcoming third album “When the Sun Goes Down”, which is out on June 28th, has been revealed to be “Love You Like a Love Song”. The Rock Mafia-produced track sees the 18-year old pop singer/actress return to her dance influenced ways from “A Year Without Rain”. If you loved the track “Round and Round” from that album, you’ll love “Love You Like a Love Song”. It’s catchy, sassy, well-produced and will make you bop around. Selena is bringing her A-game with this new album of hers. I’m not the biggest fan of hers but even I can admit that.

Ξ June 15th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Enrique Iglesias, Singers, song |

Check out another cut from Pitbull’s upcoming sixth studio album “Planet Pit”, which is due out on June 21st. The track is called “Come N Go”, was produced by Dr Luke, Benny Blanco and Max Martin, and features pop singer Enrique Iglesias. Pitbull once again kills it in the verses while an auto-tuned Enrique jumps into the infectious hooks. The production is so hot! But it’s not like you can expect anything less considering who produced it. With a smash like this, Pitbull will certainly have the party album of 2011. I wonder if this will be another single for the rapper. I think it should be.

Jay Sean has a new music video – Like This, Like That

Ξ June 14th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Singers, Video, song |

The singer has recently released a new music video for his song “Like This, Like That”. Jay Sean’s song is a basic Pop/R&B piece with nothing too amazing in it, reasonably catchy, but not as much as any other of his earlier hits. The music video isn’t too special either since it’s basically just Jay Sean interacting with his female companion in some pretty abstract environments. There is also an intervention by rapper Birdman, but that goes pretty unnoticed as well. Still, the song is not too hard on the ears so it may have some sort of lifespan. The music video however will most likely be very soon forgotten.

New from Gym Class Heroes – Stereo Hearts

Ξ June 10th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Lyrics, Singers, song |

Gym Class Heroes has a new song out called “Stereo Hearts”. The Benny Blanco-produced and Adam Levine-assisted track is the lead single from the hip hop band’s much-anticipated fifth album “The Papercut Chronicles II”, which is due in stores this year. The song has an uplifting and summery vibe, and is overall a good track. The lyrics are really cool with loads of metaphors that are very consistent throughout the entire song. I actually like the verses more than the chorus – it’s all about Travie McCoy! If you want to grab hold of this single, it will be released on iTunes on June 14th.

Gym Class Heroes – Stereo Hearts – Lyrics
[Adam Levine]

My heart’s a stereo
It beats for your, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note

Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

[Travie McCoy]

If I was just another dusty record on the shelve
Will you blow me off and play me like everybody else
If I ask you to scratch my back, could you manage that
Like it read well, check it Travie, I can handle that
Furthermore, I apologize for any skipping tracks
This the last girl that play me left a couple cracks
I used to used to used to used to, now I’m over that
Cause holding grudges over love is ancient artifacts

If I could only find a note to make you understand
I sing a song and the image grab me by the hands
Keep myself inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart is a stereo that only plays for you

[Chorus]

My heart’s a stereo
It beats for your, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note

Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Oh oh oh oh To my stereo
Oh oh oh oh So sing along to my stereo

[Travie McCoy]

If I wasn’t old school, fifty pound boombox
Would you hold me on your shoulder, wherever you walk
Would you turn my volume up before of the cops
And crank it higher everytime they told you to stop
And all I ask is that you don’t get mad at me
When you have to purchase mad D batteries
Appreciate every mixtape your friends make
You never know we come and go like we’re on the interstate

I think finally found a note to make you understand
If you can hear it, sing along and take me by the hands
Keep myself inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart is a stereo that only plays for you

[Chorus]

My heart’s a stereo
It beats for your, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note

Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Oh oh oh oh To my stereo
Oh oh oh oh So sing along to my stereo

[Bridge]

I only pray you never leave me behind
Because good music can be so hard to find
I take your hand and pull it closer to mine
Thought love was dead, but now you’re changing my mind

[Chorus]

My heart’s a stereo
It beats for your, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note

Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo

Oh oh oh oh To my stereo
Oh oh oh oh So sing along to my stereo

Beyonce’s new song has a lot of backing from its creator

Ξ June 3rd, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Beyonce Knowles, song |

It seems that the singer’s upcoming single was written by none other than Diane Warren. However, not only does Beyonce’s new song have such a prolific writer, but Diane Warren considers it her best to date. This is what she had to say about her newest creation: “I just wrote something a week and a half ago that Beyoncé recorded and I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever written. She sang it amazingly. I think it’s a career song and probably my favorite thing I’ve ever written … right now. I think it’s really, really going to touch people.” Well this is certainly good news, especially considering the fact that most of Beyonce’s latest releases haven’t exactly brought much pleasing feedback.

Coldplay have a new song – Every Teardrop is a Waterfall

Ξ June 3rd, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Coldplay, Lyrics, singer, song |

It seems to have been quite some time since Coldplay released a new single, but lo! and behold the day has finally come and the band has released their new song called “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall”. Coldplay’s new song is a pretty fast-paced and optimistic sounding thing. It has a steady pace and Chris Martin’s vocals, even though not extraordinary, seem to blend very well into the whole thing. The song itself sounds like some sort of a combination of pop and a little psychedelic rock. This new song of Coldplay’s is probably going to bring them back into the charts for a bit… or maybe even longer than that if the gods are smiling.

Coldplay – Every Teardrop is a Waterfall – Lyrics
I SHUT THE WORLD OUTSIDE UNTIL THE LIGHTS COME ON
MAYBE THE STREETS ALIGHT, MAYBE THE TREES ARE GONE
I FEEL MY HEART START BEATING TO MY FAVOURITE SONG

AND ALL THE KIDS THEY DANCE, ALL THE KIDS ALL NIGHT
UNTIL MONDAY MORNING FEELS ANOTHER LIFE
I TURN THE MUSIC UP
I’M ON A ROLL THIS TIME
AND HEAVEN IS IN SIGHT

I TURN THE MUSIC UP, I GOT MY RECORDS ON
FROM UNDERNEATH THE RUBBLE SING A REBEL SONG
DON’T WANT TO SEE ANOTHER GENERATION DROP
I’D RATHER BE A COMMA THAN A FULL STOP

MAYBE I’M IN THE BLACK, MAYBE I’M ON MY KNEES
MAYBE I’M IN THE GAP BETWEEN THE TWO TRAPEZES
BUT MY HEART IS BEATING AND MY PULSES START
CATHEDRALS IN MY HEART

AND WE SAW OH THIS LIGHT I SWEAR YOU, EMERGE BLINKING INTO
TO TELL ME IT’S ALRIGHT
AS WE SOAR WALLS, EVERY SIREN IS A SYMPHONY
AND EVERY TEAR’S A WATERFALL
IS A WATERFALL

OH
IS A WATERFALL
OH OH OH
IS A IS A WATERFALL
EVERY TEAR
IS A WATERFALL
OH OH OH

SO YOU CAN HURT, HURT ME BAD
BUT STILL I’LL RAISE THE FLAG

OH
IT WAS A WA WA WA WA WA-ATERFALL
A WA WA WA WA WA-ATERFALL

EVERY TEAR
EVERY TEAR
EVERY TEARDROP IS A WATERFALL

New from Eminem and Royce da 5’9 – Lighters

Ξ June 3rd, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Bruno Mars, Eminem, Singers, song |

Eminem and Royce da 5’9 have a new song out called “Lighters”. The rappers, who together form the hip hop duo Bad Meets Evil, have this track on their upcoming album “Hell: The Sequel” out on June 14th. “Lighters” was one of the most anticipated tracks from the album as it sees the first collaboration between two of the music industry’s biggest players today – Eminem and Bruno Mars. In the song, Bruno shows off his wide vocal range and vulnerable side on the chorus and bridge. I really think this track should eventually be a single. Eminem is capable of having a top 10 hit on his own, same with Bruno. The two of them together, as well as Royce da 5’9 – smash hit!

The pop singer said “The next album… I’ve been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it’s gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll. I’ve been pretty much in this ’70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that’s just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f—.” In other news, there’s a new song snippet that hit the internet called “31 Seconds Alone”. It’s not confirmed whether the electro-pop tune is an unreleased track from the “Animal/Cannibal” era or something new from Ke$ha.

Lady GaGa gets a bit eccentric

Ξ May 10th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ AUDIO STREAM, Audio, Lady Gaga, singer, song |

The singer seems to have quite the soft spot for England… or rather a somewhat twisted spot for England. It seems that Lady GaGa will be doing a little tour in the UK this week and has asked that her tour staff all speak in the Cockney accent, the same accent traditionally found in the East End are of London. And of course there is also the usual request for traditional British cuisine such as fish and chips and of course gin and Pimm’s. It would appear that Lady GaGa doesn’t want to leave anything to chance while in the UK and wants to experience all of the finer things that the English have to offer. Hopefully she won’t be requiring too big a crew for her tour.

Whether it’s high quality or a recording of a live performance, there’s no denying that the track is massive. I think it’s another certified hit for the producing trio. Amber Riley recently took to her webcam to cover Adele’s new single “Someone Like You”. The “Glee” actress also took to her Twitter to express her thoughts on the British singer and her song, saying “I don’t care who sings it, NO ONE can sing an Adele song like ADELE, she is perfect :) but I’m glad you guys liked my version too….” Amber isn’t the only “Glee” star to cover the likes of Adele though. Last night’s episode of the hit TV show saw Gwyneth Paltrow take on “Turning Tables”. Both of them did stellar jobs on their covers but I agree with Amber, no one can sing an Adele song like Adele.Check the Season 2 Episode 17 of Glee episode titled “Night of Neglect.”

Here’s another bonus track from Chris Brown’s latest album “FAME”. The Timbaland-produced “Talk Ya Ear Off” is an exclusive on the Japanese edition of the R&B singer’s fourth studio album, which was released two weeks later than other countries, earlier this week. I have yet to come across a Timbaland production that I didn’t like or grow to like. This is one hot production. Grab your headphones and bop along. However, I do think Chris’ voice sounds a bit funny in this one. In any case, it’s an overall good track. I actually think it should have made the US cut.

The hip hop group has released their major label debut album called “Free Wired” today and what better way to give it an extra commercial push than recording a track with a popular local artist. The song is featured as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of Far East Movement’s album. It’s a sexy club banger with a bounce electro pop beat. Koda Kumi takes over for the chorus where she sings parts in English and Japanese. I like it.

American electro pop singer Dev, aka the girl from Far East Movement’s “Like a G6”, has chosen The Cataracs-produced “In the Dark” as the official second single from her upcoming debut album “The Night the Sun Came Up”, which is scheduled for release late this Summer. The song sounds good and I think is so much better than her first single “Bass Down Low”, which only managed to peak at #61 on Billboard’s Hot 100. I like Dev’s vocals on the song even if it is auto tuned. The instrumentals are also pretty cool. If promoted right, this song can be a summer smash hit.

Chris Medina – What are Words – Lyrics
Anywhere you are, I am near
Anywhere you go, I’ll be there
Anytime you whisper my name, you’ll see
How every single promise I keep
Cuz what kind of guy would I be
If I was to leave when you need me most
What are words
If you really don’t mean them
When you say them
What are words
If they’re only for good times
Then they don’t
When it’s love
Yeah, you say them out loud
Those words, They never go away
They live on, even when we’re gone
And I know an angel was sent just for me
And I know I’m meant to be where I am
And I’m gonna be
Standing right beside her tonight
And I’m gonna be by your side
I would never leave when she needs me most
What are words
If you really don’t mean them
When you say them
What are words
If they’re only for good times
Then they don’t
When it’s love
Yeah, you say them out loud
Those words, They never go away
They live on, even when we’re gone
Anywhere you are, I am near
Anywhere you go, I’ll be there
And I’m gonna be here forever more
Every single promise I keep
Cuz what kind of guy would I be

British boy band The Wanted kick off their 2011 with a brand new single called “Gold Forever”. The new track will serve as this year’s Comic Relief song (charity single) in the UK. “Gold Forever” is a mid tempo ballad with a feel good vibe. It’s also infused with some electronica and dance elements. It’s not the best but it’s not bad either. I actually kind of like it. The Wanted may have their most clear opportunity to score a hit with the Comic Relief support as well as having no big competition for when it’s released. And if you’re wondering when that is, the song will be available in the UK on March 13th.

Apparently when Lady GaGa is on stage she feels like she has this very intimate and raw passionate relationship with all of her fans. These were her words on the matter: “Sometimes, being on stage is like having sex with my fans. They’re the only people on the planet who, in an instant, can make me just lose it.” Right… well, most of Lady GaGa’s fans are probably very thrilled to hear that… and they’ll be looking forward to her next concert with much, much anticipation. This probably explains the singer’s choice in outfits. After all, it can become very dull after a while if one is wearing the same thing.

The rapper has recently released a new song called “Green & Yellow”. This is quite the interesting piece because it’s actually about the Super Bowl game that is coming up between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers. It would appear that Lil’ Wayne is quite the Packers fan and he has expressed his passion for the team the best way he can: through song. It’s not a bad piece, actually, a very inspired combination of an active electo/dance rhythm in the background and Lil’ Wayne’s trademark squeaky vocals. But they do go pretty well with the song itself and it’s a worthy homage to the Green Bay Packers. Lil’ Wayne even promises a Super Bowl party if the Green & Yellow manage to take home the title this year.

Jennifer Lopez recently gave Ryan Seacrest the go signal to premiere her new single “On the Floor”. As announced, this is the final version of the RedOne-produced track and I’m glad to say that it’s so much better than the leaked demo. There’s more of JLo in the intro and rapper Pitbull’s minute long verse was divided into two parts, one at the beginning and another to close the song. The beat is also neater along with some improvement on the pop singer’s vocals. Overall, this version sounds and feels hotter. Now that the song is on US radio, I wonder how long it will take for her to perform it on American Idol.

Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith, the only remaining members of the lineup, kicked things off with an appearance on Billboard’s “Live Q&A”, where they performed an acoustic performance of the lead single. American Idol’s new contestant

During the Milwaukee auditions of the show, one of the people who went for the gold was a 26 year-old Chicago native, Chris Medina. He sang “Break Even” by The Script and he did a damn good job of it apparently. Without any synths or chorus or instruments backing him, he actually made it sound very good so he got a yes from all three of the judges. However, Chris Medina’s motivation for being on the show has a rather inspiring story behind it which he tells during the audition. It does seem like he is a man of character. That probably did impress the judges along with his singing. Hopefully going to Hollywood and through the whole American Idol process won’t change him too much. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.

The Roc Nation singer’s latest song is already getting several spins at UK clubs. It was smart of her camp to continue with the light dance/house sound. As for the video, it’s good but I feel like Jay-Z could have spent a little bit more cash on it. Alexis looked amazing though and the choreography was cute.

Justin Bieber makes his documentary even more epic

Ξ January 25th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Justin Bieber, Singers, song |

Just when you thought that there was no more that could be done with “Never Say Never”, Justin Bieber has brought on another epic composer for the documentary. Ester Dean, who is apparently behind Rihanna’s “Say my name” and Katy Perry’s “Firework” is the new addition to Justin Bieber’s super-awesome squad. This is what she had to say about working with the teenage singer: “I first met Justin with Usher at an ‘American Idol’ event. He was like, ‘Oh my God … I’m such a fan of your songwriting!’ And I’m like, ‘You’re a fan? I’m a fan of your music!’ He’s a very talented guy. He was very easy to work with and was very nice. We just finished up some music for the new movie he has coming out. I can’t get too much into it. I don’t want to give too much away. But it’s going to be great.” How much more awesomeness could this documentary take? They’d better release it already before it just pops.

New Song from Jay Sean – Hit the Lights

Ξ January 24th, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Lil Wayne, Singers, rapper, song |

Jay Sean is back with a new single called “Hit the Lights” which features rapper Lil Wayne. The song is a definite club banger. The J-Remy and Bobbygass-produced track will officially be released in the UK on February 8th. Jay’s new studio album “Freeze Time” will hit stores two weeks later on February 22nd. I think this song is going to kill on the radio. The singer’s latest track needs to get to number one because I think it’s miles better than “2012”. But if he’s planning to release this in the US, he better ask for some help with Lil Wayne if he wants to score another number one on Billboard’s Hot 100.

JLo Premieres Official Single – On the Floor

Ξ January 21st, 2011 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Jennifer Lopez, Singers, song |
