�Gossip Girl� actress Leighton Meester is determined to make a name for herself in the music industry. The aspiring singer�s official debut single �Somebody to Love� is already out and it features R&B singer Robin Thicke. I like the Blondie vibe that the song is giving off but it�s far from great. It�s good but it could be loads better. And why would she want to do another collaboration after her summer hit with Cobra Starship on �Good Girls Go Bad�? Leighton should have done her own thing and showcased more of herself as a solo artist. Big names could just overshadow her.

Michael Jackson�s Tomb Guards

For several weeks, Michael Jackson�s tomb at Forest Lawn Memorial Park was under maximum round the clock security. It�s now being said that the extra protection has been scaled back. Sources say that the mausoleum that house�s the late singer�s body was being monitored by a private security firm hired specifically to protect the King of Pop�s grave. As of last week, the extra protection was nowhere to be seen. Sources at Forest Lawn confirm the security change but insist that Michael�s resting place will still be under constant watch of the guards under their employment, 24-hour cameras and alarms.

Wino Back in Hospital

Sooner or later, someone�s going to have a hospital wing named after Amy Winehouse as the British singer has once again visited the hospital for the third time in three months last week. The doctors of St. Lucia knew the drill so well that Wino was even released the same night that she was admitted. Wino�s friends are worried that her latest trip will mean that she is still not ready to go back to the full swing of things regarding her career. Wino is scheduled to make a comeback performance in London at the end of this month and they are saying that she might not make it.

However, Nick says �This is really funny because people think this is about something particular but the truth to that is it’s one of the only songs of the record that’s not about a direct personal experience.� Kevin added �It’s, like, the most general song.� How do you write a general song about a scorned ex?

The singer has apparently written a song called �Silly Boy� which is most likely aimed at her former boyfriend Chris Brown. Just too bad for you, that when you had me / Didn’t know what to do, she’s over you. So silly boy get out my face / Why do you like the way regrets taste?” Well, that�s one way to get over the whole assault thing. But still you have to wonder how much Rihanna can actually get to Chris Brown with a song like that� especially since the man is still facing jail time.

In a new interview with Popeater, Katy Perry talks about the odd facial expressions that John Mayer makes when he�s performing. The �I Kissed a Girl� singer revealed �John Mayer said he�s trying to get rid of his “O” face. Oh, I think it�s sexy. Why would he try to get rid of something that�s just so cool?� If John�s so-called O face is what Katy thinks to be sexy, then I�m highly turned on by overweight plumbers who show their butt cracks as their fixing the leak under the kitchen sink. John�s facial expressions have been the center of some of my nightmares.

Trent Reznor Gets Engaged

Even rock star�s have a need to settle down one day and it looks like Trent Reznor has found his match in Mariqueen Maandig, the vocalist for the band West Indian Girl. The Nine Inch Nails singer and his fianc� went public at the �Star Trek� premiere in Los Angeles last week and announced their engagement over the weekend. In a prior interview, Trent has said �I had neglected [my love life], but I’ve been paying more attention to it. It feels like I’m more equipped to function in that situation. I can actually be honest with myself and another human being.� Congratulations to the happy couple!

Wino Hospitalized Again

Amy Winehouse was taken to the hospital in St. Lucia this past weekend. The singer�s spokesperson said that the reason behind the hospitalization was dehydration. Wino�s publicist said �She fainted at home (in St Lucia) and they took her in for observation, mainly to do with her medication to check everything was OK. They told her that she was dehydrated and needed to drink more water.� Her publicist further claims that Wino was running around with a group of children before she passed out. She�s expected to perform at a jazz festival in St. Lucia later this week so I hope she feels better.

Leona Lewis Injured

British songstress Leona Lewis has suffered a horse-riding incident when her own horse delivered a nasty headbutt. The horse, which was a birthday present from her friends, turned on Leona after an early morning ride and hit her in the face so hard that it split her lip open and knocked her to the floor. According to sources �Leona has been riding since she was a child and has never had a fear of horses. So she was really shaken up when the horse turned on her. Something startled the horse and it flicked its head back and smacked Leona full in the face. She was knocked flying by the force of it. Thankfully she didn�t need any surgery, but she was told to stay at home and rest just in case she passed out with concussion.� Unlike Madonna, Leona isn�t blaming anyone or anything for the incident.

Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry were spotted together in Barbados last week. 24-year old Katy and 27-year old Kelly were among the stars that were in town to perform at Chum FM�s 24th anniversary celebration at Harbour Lights on Bay Street. 21-year old Barbadian native Rihanna was seen cheering for the two singers in the audience. Rihanna and Katy were also seen hanging out on the beach. I wonder what it would be like to have these three very talented singers collaborate on a song. I bet that it would be wonderful. Having them on a collaboration would be like a dream for me.

Green Day Unveil Lyrics and Making of the Video

Green Day have just released a behind-the-scenes look at their new video for �Know Your Enemy.� The clip, while short, gives a glimpse into what�s in store for fans in the forthcoming video. The Matthew Cullen (Weezer) directed video was shot in Los Angeles and will make its premiere on April 24th via 250+ MTV on-air and online outlets worldwide.

For fans that can�t wait for the video, Green Day have released the lyrics to the entire album on their official site GreenDay.com. 21st Century Breakdown hits stores May 15th.

Britney Spears has released her new music video for her single �If U Seek Amy�. The controversial song is the third single to be released from her album �Circus�. The track was co-written and produced by famed producer Max Martin, who also provided the classic Britney hits ��Baby One More Time� and �Oops!� I Did It Again�. Just like her videos for �Womanizer� and �Circus�, Britney is still the hot mama that she is in her new video. I wonder if the video will be received with the same amount of controversy as the single itself. I hope not. It�s too hot of a video to just get censored or aired only when the kids are asleep.

The new Kelly Clarkson album has just leaked on the internet in its entirety. While that may come off as bad news, that�s where it ends. Everything else is good news after that. The great news is that the album is really good. I love it a whole lot even after just listening through it one full time. The whole thing is great! Almost every song has the potential to be a massive single for the original American Idol. That makes it official. Kelly Clarkson is back and she�s back with a vengeance! Congrats! I bet that the leak will even help her sell more albums rather than make her lose money.

Russia Says No to Emo

Being an emo kid in Russia could be deemed illegal some time soon as the government is trying to pass laws that would heavily regulate emo websites and ban emo and goth dress style in schools and government buildings. The new laws are apparently being driven by fears that emo encourages depression and suicide. Of course, the emo kids of Russia aren?t keen on this. There were mass protests by Russian emo kids just last weekend. Dmitry Gilevich of Russian emo band MAIO said at a protest ?Expressing psychological emotions is not forbidden by law.? More and more countries are beginning to fight against emo ? England, Mexico and now Russia.

John Mayer on Tour

John Mayer was spotted leaving the Hazelton Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to head to his scheduled concert earlier this week. The 30-year old musician performed at The Molson Amphitheatre as part of his summer tour. John?s new 2 CD set ?Where The Light Is: John Mayer Live In Los Angeles? features 5 acoustic songs, 8 songs with the John Mayer Trio and 9 songs with a full 8-member band. The album has a total of 22 songs and was released last week. The next stop for John?s tour is at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York with Colbie Caillat as his opening act.

Linkin Park?s Art Exhibition

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda is also an artist, it turns out.

Shinoda will present his works at the Japanese American Museum in Los Angeles from July 11.

The exhibition follows “a central character through various facets of celebrity life, the exhibition explores the motivations behind contemporary society’s fascination with fame, excess and instant gratification: from the unique perspective of an outsider on the inside of rock superstardom”.

Shinoda will be at the opening night of the exhibition of July 11 between 8 and 10pm. Fans who attend can have their program signed.

Mike will follow-up the ‘Glorious Excess (Born) exhibition with ‘Glorious Excess (Dies) in January 2009.

Michael Jackson has been staying in Las Vegas for a while now and he?s already thrusting his face into the Sin City spotlight ? two inches of forehead at a time. Michael Jackson was spotted at the Ultimate Fighting Championship match at the MGM Grand on Saturday night, clad in his finest burka ensemble. Who knew that the fallen King of Pop was into cage fighting? Jacko showed up at the event in a wheelchair, just in time to watch Tito Ortiz get the beat down, though I?m not sure if he actually saw it behind those ridiculously blacked out shades of his. I doubt if he can even see his own hand if he put it right up to his face.

A guy who once tried to make it into ?American Idol? by comparing himself to clay Aiken has just been busted for sending sexually suggestive messages to a 12-year old boy and even propositioning a 10-year old while volunteering at a Brooklyn elementary school. 23-year old Colin Leahy, who auditioned on season 3 of AI, was arrested by cops last week and charged with 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. If you ask me, he should have stayed in prison. Sure, he didn?t do anything physical yet but you never know when he would.

Smashing Pumpkins are taking their former label, Virgin Records, to court over their use of the Pumpkins brand. The label, with whom the band split in 2000, allegedly, used the band?s name for promotional activities linked to Pepsi without their permission.

Virgin were allowed rights to sell digital downloads of the Chicago alt-indie rockers, but should not have compromised the band?s artistic integrity by using their name for promotional activities.

Ashlee also has plans to continue her acting career saying ?I?m definitely interested in going back to acting but it?s all about choosing the right roles. Nickelback front man Chad Kroeger was spotted by paparazzi earlier this week but it looks like he?s been bitten by the shyness bug. I would have at least expected a photographer to get punched and more swearing to come from him.

Eminem in heart scare

It has been revealed that rap star Eminem didn?t have such a Merry Christmas after being rushed to hospital suffering from a heart condition. Real name Marshall Mathers, the star spent time in a Detroit hospital before returning home to recover.

It seems that the ?Slim Shady? isn?t so slim anymore ? with the formerly skinny rapper?s weight spiralling; I doubt that this could have aided any heart condition. At 5ft 8in pushing 14st 7lb is heavy going.

Add that to the recent problems of the past few years and its not surprising his blood pressure is rising. Marshall has battled drug addiction and has been in and out of rehab. His volatile marriage to Kim ? married, divorced, married, on the rocks ? can?t have helped either.

Here?s hoping he makes a full recovery?
