Rapper 50 Cent has revealed he spends a whopping US$20,000 a week on security, he says.
The star, who has been shot nine times, has his entire house surrounded by CCTV cameras to ensure his safety.
50 Cent, who’s real name is Curtis Jackson, also hires bodyguards when he travels, pushing his security bill up to US$1.6 million a year.
He explained: “I spend US$20,000 a week on security. My home is surrounded by cameras.
“I need surveillance not only to look out for me, but also to protect me. You get all these crazy lawsuits and I need cameras to check on things.”
An insider close to the rapper added: “He has armed security with him 24 hours of the day – even while he’s sleeping.
“And every member of his team is a trained professional – some of them ex-secret service… He’s as safe as the president of the United States.”

Rihanna recently premiered a new song, ‘Russian Roulette’, via her official website. What can I say? I love Rihanna but I am absolutely shocked and disappointed that the singer came out with a dud. I blame Ne-Yo for writing and producing such a mediocre song for the Barbadian babe but I still blame Rihanna for having approved of it being her first single. The song sounds like it should have been on the B-side of her last album. It’s definitely not something to go all crazy about even though it’s been highly anticipated because of what went down in Rihanna’s personal life. The song and production are both seriously lacking.
The police were called over to a Waterstone’s bookstore in London earlier this week after there were claims that Leona Lewis had been slapped. The singer was doing a book signing for her autobiography ‘Dreams’. The X Factor winner’s camp released a statement regarding the matter saying “Leona was the victim of an unprovoked attack this afternoon at her book signing. The police were called immediately and medical attention has been sought. Leona is understandably shaken and apologizes to the fans she was unable to meet and complete signings.” What the heck has gotten into the person who attacked her?
For several weeks, Michael Jackson’s tomb at Forest Lawn Memorial Park was under maximum round the clock security. It’s now being said that the extra protection has been scaled back. Sources say that the mausoleum that house’s the late singer’s body was being monitored by a private security firm hired specifically to protect the King of Pop’s grave. As of last week, the extra protection was nowhere to be seen. Sources at Forest Lawn confirm the security change but insist that Michael’s resting place will still be under constant watch of the guards under their employment, 24-hour cameras and alarms.
Lady Gaga will be performing a brand new single off the upcoming ‘The Fame Monster’ release, which comes out this November, on Saturday Night Live. The singer is scheduled to take the comedy show’s stage on October 3 so don’t forget to tune in if you want to get your Lady Gaga fix. I think that the show is going to be epic because of her. I can’t wait to see how she’s going to bring her uniqueness to that stage. I’m also wondering if they’re going to have some skits revolving around her. I think that they should have some Gaga skits in there.
British singer Leona Lewis is set to release the first single off of her upcoming new album ‘Echo’. The single is called ‘Happy’ and the song was co-written by Leona and writer/producer Ryan Tedder. He’s the One Republic front man who also helped her write and produce her first smash single ‘Bleeding Love’. The new single is set to be released on September 15th on iTunes and the album will soon hit stores on November 17th worldwide. I have a feeling that Leona will be debuting the song at her VH1 Divas Live performance on September 17th. That should be fun!
Michael Jackson may have collected a huge fortune during his career, $1,360,839,979 to be exact, but there was little cash to be spent before the King of Pop passed away. According to financial documents, the late singer’s cash only totalled to just 0.05% of his net worth, about $668,215. His assets include real property worth $73,475,000 (Neverland and Encino home), restricted cash of $10,696,764, media archival materials worth $20,000,000, MJ Publishing Trust worth $85,000,000, professional equipment worth $1,000,000, and automobiles, antiques, collectibles and other personal property worth $20,000,000. That’s a lot of money in assets. I don’t know whether he’s a hoarder or just smart.
With Steven Tyler out with a serious injury, Aerosmith is left without a lead singer and thus will not be finishing up their tour this summer. The band released a statement apologizing to fans and explaining the situation saying “Due to injuries Steven Tyler sustained last week when he fell from the stage during a concert in Sturgis, South Dakota, doctors have advised the lead singer to take the time to properly recuperate from the accident that resulted in a broken shoulder and stitches to his head.” Guitarist Joe Perry added to that statement saying “Words can’t express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour. We hope we can get the Aerosmith machine up and running again as soon as possible.”
Peter Andre’s new single ‘Behind Closed Doors’ is shaping up to debut at the number one spot in the UK. Julian Monaghan of Amazon.co.uk Ltd said “We saw a high number of orders as soon as the track became available at midnight on [Saturday] and sales continued to be strong throughout the day.” At their last track, Andre has already outsold all the artists at the top of the singles chart, including Tinchy Stryder, Black Eyed Peas and Calvin Harris. The singer believes that he can be the country’s next Robbie Williams, saying that “people gave Robbie s**t for being the fat kid from Take That when he was doing ‘Freedom’. He felt how I feel now.”

African stage stars are putting on a show called Mercy Madonna of Malawi which mocks the singer’s two adoptions from the country.
The 50-year-old performer has two adopted children David, three, and Mercy, four, who were both adopted from Malawi.
The Material Girl is being played by an African actor in a blonde wig in the show, which is using rewritten versions of Madge’s tracks mocking the adoptions.
The actor is joined by dancers wearing “Adopt Me” t-shirts and they have brought their show to the UK and will perform at the Edinburgh Festival. They say they are trying to show a local perspective of the star’s adoptions.
The audience of the show are reportedly asked at the end whether or not they believe the adoptions should have been allowed.
The show’s director Toby Gough said: “I know one of Madonna’s dancers and I’ve sent him an email saying: ‘Please invite her along.’ I haven’t heard back yet.”

Amy Winehouse has finally returned to the UK after an extended vacation in the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. And while she may be looking better, I can’t really say the same for the hotel she left behind. It turns out that the singer caused a reported $40,000 in damages to her hotel suite before leaving as she trashed her room into ruins. According to a source, “There were cigarette burns in the sofa, broken beds, smashed chandeliers, cracked mirrors and all the plumbing was blocked.” Yuck! Wino needs to clean her crap up! If she doesn’t want to, she could at least pay for it.
A teary-eyed Amy Winehouse arrived at London’s Gatwick airport on Monday morning after the singer’s extended 8-month stay in St. Lucia. I can’t believe she made it in one piece! Actually, I think Wino looked a million times better than she has in previous months. She has more meat on her bones now. According to her spokesperson, Wino is really happy to be back in the UK and “can’t wait to catch up with family and friends.” However, some people are saying that’s not the real case. Wino apparently outstayed her welcome on the island. Wino kept getting banned from hotel bars and disturbing the locals so she thought that it would be a good idea to pack it up and leave before she was banned from ever returning.
Sources have revealed the exact division of Michael Jackson’s assets, according to his will. The singer’s mother, Katherine Jackson, will get 40% of his assets. Michael’s three children will also be getting 40% and the remaining 20% will be divided up for several children’s charities. No specific charities were specified in the document, so the California state Attorney General, who is in charge and regulates the state’s charitable foundations, has filed legal papers to ensure that the funds actually go to charity. There’s still no word as to gets the 50% share holdings at Sony/ATV music publishing catalogue, which controls many of the songs from the Beatles.
By now, everyone knows that the Adam Lambert song that leaked last week is actually a couple of years old. It turns out that the American Idol runner up was looking for quick money back then and lent his voice to some songs to pay the bills. The singer said “Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else. I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I’m thrilled to be working with some of today’s hottest songwriters and producers and can’t wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like.”
It has recently been reported that some “new” material from Chris Brown leaked onto the internet recently. The general belief is that the material in question is about the rapper’s recent events with his former girlfriend Rihanna. However, his record company says this is not the case as they released the following statement in regards to the so-called new Chris Brown tracks: “There are several old demos circulating that are being falsely promoted as new material from Chris.” It looks like somebody isn’t too happy about how the whole trial thing went for Chris Brown and is trying to bring a bit more to the sentence.
Madonna is proof that you can’t please everyone. The Queen of Pop is slated to perform in Poland on August 15th but the Catholic community there is screaming a big “NO!” The date happens to be the same as the Assumption of Mary feast, a celebration of the holy Madonna. Members of the Catholic community are reaching out to the government to cancel the concert. However, there are no plans yet to do so. A committee is already being made to stage a massive protest outside the concert. If there are a lot of Polish Madonna fans, that protest wouldn’t mean a single thing.
Britney Spears’ handlers surprisingly let the recovered pop star out to have a night out in the town in London after finishing her first week of the UK leg of her ‘Circus’ tour. The singer dropped by Maddox night club this past weekend before calling it an early night and heading to bed. No fishnets, sunglasses at night, late convenient store stops or a pig wig involved in the whole matter, just a bunch of bodyguards and an utterly bored looking Britney. The times have seriously changed with this one folks. Let’s hope she stays in her non-crazy state for the sake of her kids.
The people over at General Motors might need to get a bigger bailout if they end up losing a new lawsuit over music they allegedly took from The Lemonheads. In a lawsuit recently filed in Federal Court in Los Angeles, the band’s lead singer Evan Dando claims that GM never got his permission before using the song ‘It’s a Shame About Ray’ in several of the car company’s Memorial Sales Event commercials back in 2008. Dando is suing for unspecified damages. Good luck to him with that considering that GM practically has no money of their own to give away.

Now that Britney Spears is making money again, she’s being sued by the photographer whose foot she once ran over. Mind you, the whole thing was caught on tape for people to ridicule. Rick Mendoza was a casualty of the recovered pop star’s Mercedes as she was pulling out of a Beverly Hills parking structure back when she was still looney in 2007. In the lawsuit, Mendoza says that the singer’s people, who are also defendants, “should have known…Britney was not in the mental, emotional and/or physical condition to operate the subject motor vehicle in a safe and reasonable manner.”
