We all know that the Pussycat Dolls are done and over with and it looks like the girls are ready to admit to it. Kimberly Wyatt recently explained to Chris Younie on The Hits Radio that the group has zero plans for another album. However, she gave some hope that it wouldn’t be the last that we’ve heard of the band, it just might not be the same girls. Kimberly said “Here’s the thing. I think the Pussycat Dolls was always created as a brand, and it will always be that way. No matter what happens, the Pussycat Dolls will always be around.”
Lady Gaga is the latest artist to weigh in on the whole Kanye West-Taylor Swift drama that went down at this year’s VMAs. While promoting their now defunct joint tour, the singer told a Las Vegas radio station that her first reaction to the rapper’s interruption was “Oh gosh,” but that she thinks it’s “unfair to judge somebody on one mistake they’ve made.” Lady Gaga said “He feels so fucking bad. He really does. I think that everyone can get so caught up in gossip and stuff. I felt like that moment kind of like really portrayed him in a way that he really isn’t. It was just a random moment.”
Britney Spears recently gave a fan of hers something to be really happy about. The 27-year old singer met a lucky fan at her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to give him a free ticket to her concert at the Staples Center. Where was I when this happened? In other Britney news, the pop star just announced that she will celebrate her 10 years in the music industry by releasing ‘The Singles Collection’ on November 24, as well as a new single called ‘3’ which went to radio just yesterday. If you’ve already heard it, what do you think?
Remember American Idol’s Danny Gokey? The singer placed third in the last season of the hit show. The Idol curse hasn’t run its course on him yet though as Danny has recently signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Nashville. The label he got signed to isn’t that much of a surprise as he sang three country songs on the show. Danny’s album is expected to drop in March of next year but fans can expect a single to hit the radio airwaves in the late fall. While I don’t believe that Danny will have the same amount of success as Kris Allen or Adam Lambert, I’m glad to see that he hasn’t disappeared into obscurity like other Idol alums – yet.
David Cook recently scored his third Top 10 Single on Adult Radio. The 26-year old American Idol champ’s introductory single ‘Time of My Life’ reached number 7, its follow up ‘Light On’ peaked at number 4 and his latest single ‘Come Back to Me’ moved into the number 10 spot last week. The singer has announced that he also has plans to extend his first ever solo tour, ‘The Declaration Tour – 2009’ through October 2009. It’s good to see that his career is flourishing. More power to him and congratulations on scoring that third top 10. I wonder when he’ll score a number 1.
Kelly Clarkson was seen signing some autographs for fans after her interview with UK’s Radio One in London this past Sunday. As the 26-year old first ever American Idol champion wrote in her blog, she was in London to do some promo work for her new album ‘All I Ever Wanted’. Kelly’s first single off of that album is called ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’. Check it out. I think it’s nice. I wonder why she went to the other side of the pond first to do her promo work. When is she going to do promo work in her home country?
More and more celebrities are using their fame and money to do some good. The latest artist to join the giving train is Juanes. The Latino singer is joining fellow rocker and humanitarian Bono as well as several other artists in Japan to help make a stand against world poverty. Juanes took part in two concerts while visiting overseas in support of the ?One for All Demonstration? which is tied to the Tokyo International Conference on African Development. The goal is to remind the government about keeping the promise of helping people living in poverty. It looks like the Japanese have become Juanes fans too as his single ?Me Enamora? has become a top 5 radio hit there.

New Self-Titled Studio Album In-Stores May 27
(New York, NY, March 24, 2008) Universal Republic rock icons 3 Doors Down are putting up massive radio numbers with their first single, ?Its Not My Time,? from their soon-to-be released self-titled album, due in-stores on May 27. Their much anticipated fourth studio album has spawned rock?s biggest radio hit of the year so far, with the debut single becoming the fastest moving song at Active Rock radio in the past five years. The #1 most added song at Alternative radio the past 3 weeks in a row, ?It?s Not My Time? was also the biggest Gainer at the coveted rock radio format, leaping from #20 to #16 as it closes in on the prestigious 50,000 mark in digital sales in less than a month of release.
The new CD has already got internet fans buzzing, with talk of other choice tracks such as the adrenalin-fueled ?Train,? and the rousing ?It?s The Only One You?ve Got?, pointing to more milestones from the Mississippi fivesome, from a new album steeped in rock anthems and power-driven radio hits. The follow-up to their #1 debut album, 2005?s Seventeen Days, lead singer Brad Arnold cites this effort as perhaps the most communal band effort. ?3 Doors Down has always been about every band member giving everything we?ve got,? says the singer/songwriter. ?On this album we really wanted to make every song count. We owe it to our fans who have been there to support us from day one.?
