It seems that the contest has a pretty special treat planned for all of its viewers for when they will show their very first live episode. The judges of the show will be kicking it all off with a medley of Queen songs, starting with “Bohemian Rhapsody” and going through “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”. This is what the show’s judges said on the matter in a joint statement: “Kicking off the debut of the live episode of The Voice with these high energy renditions of classic Queen hits will set the tone for our live shows.” Well that’s probably going to draw in the audiences. After all, how often does one see Cee-Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake and Adam Levine singing together?
The Muppets recently launched a viral parody of Queen?s classic ?Bohemian Rhapsody?. The launch of the viral video, which features over 40 of everyone?s favorite Muppets, coincides with the release of the legendary rock band?s new album on Hollywood Records. ?Bohemian Rhapsody?, along with other original Muppet viral videos, is featured on the Muppets? new YouTube channel MuppetsStudio. The video quality is amazing and is definitely a must watch! You would think that the video was from a serious band instead of a parody. Queen should be proud that they decided to do ?Bohemian Rhapsody?. I?ve been watching the video several times a day since it was released!
After Adam Lambert?s performance with the rock legends Queen on the American Idol finale last week, Queen guitarist Brian May told Rolling Stone magazine that the band is toying around with the idea of the runner up becoming the band?s permanent front man. May said ?”?[Drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with [Lambert] at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.? It just goes to show that losing American Idol isn?t the end of the world.
Despite putting on one of the biggest productions compared to previous seasons, American Idol season 8?s finale was down in viewership by 12% compared to last year?s finale show. That?s too bad because whoever chose to not watch missed an amazing set of performances. Performers included Queen Latifah, David Cook, Jason Mraz, Carlos Santana, Black Eyed Peas, Lionel Richie, Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper, Keith Urban, Steve Martin, KISS and Queen. Of course, every single one of the Top 13 was also there to perform. It was a great showcase of talent. The past, present and future of music was greatly presented in one amazing show.
