Bret Michaels is still dealing with side effects after his brain hemorrhage in April and warning stroke. Janna Elisa, VP of Michaels Entertainment, says “He still has pain from the chemical meningitis, short term memory loss and gets fatigued quicker than normal.” However, the rock singer’s doctor says that his recovery his amazing, explaining “Between 15 and 20 percent of patients die as a result of the initial hemorrhage, and only approximately 50 percent of those that survive have a good outcome. For anyone to speculate that this was not a life threatening medical emergency is absolutely incorrect. Bret is truly one of the most determined individuals I have ever met when it comes to an attempt at making a full recovery.”
It’s going to be just a little show in little casino Mississippi, but who’s to say he won’t be going on tour too? After all, if Bret Michaels can do a show, why not 5 or 6 or 10? However, his doctor doesn’t really consider that Bret Michaels is truly ready to get back on stage and this is what he said about the show: “Bret will be slower on stage … not a lot of dancing and will take it easy.” Surely everyone will be happy to see the Poison singer back on stage and his managers might just get a sound night of sleep knowing it as well. It’s the first step to a full recovery.
Bret Michaels? is making lots of progress and his sister Michelle says that the Poison lead singer is ?definitely doing better and was starting to walk a little bit!? She continues ?He?s up and moving but it is not going to surprise me if he is still in the ICU on Friday. I think they?re having a problem really getting the bleed?I think there are some issues?that?s why the back pain. What?s happened is all that blood in his brain is starting to drain and he?s starting to have a lot of back pain. It?s been I can hear it in his voice, I know he?s in a lot of pain? He?s so happy that everybody is pulling for him. The fact that he got medical treatment right away, he went immediately and because there is one of the best neurological centers in America there he was very fortunate and I think he will recover quickly and it wouldn?t surprise me to see him back there sooner than most.? Keep it up Bret!
Bret Michaels has apparently suffered an unfortunate setback. The former Poison lead singer was diagnosed with a side effect that leads to seizures ? hyponatremia, which is a lack of sodium in the body. His rep confirms ?Michaels remains under 24-hour observation in the ICU and is in positive spirits. He is responding well to tests and treatments. Even though today was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery.? Despite all that, doctors are ?hopeful that Bret will gradually improve as the blood surrounding the brain dissolves and is reabsorbed into his system, which can be a very painful recovery and take several weeks to months.?
Bret Michaels was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition after suffering from a subarachnoid hemorrhage last week. Subarachnoid hemorrhaging, which is bleeding at the base of one?s brain stem, is often a complication from diabetes, which the former Poison lead singer is known to suffer from. Reports are also stating that according to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, people who don’t receive proper medical treatment after suffering a subarachnoid hemorrhage have a 20% to 30% chance of experiencing a second bleed within the first month ? and the odds of surviving a second bleed are extremely slim. I sincerely hope that Bret recovers completely from this.
During the Tony Awards opening number this past Sunday, Poison front man Brett Michaels was injured after a run-in with the set. The singer performed ?Nothin But a Good Time? with the cast of ?Rock of Ages? and as he left the stage, a moving set piece hit him on the head and knocked him to the ground. A Tonys spokesperson said that the rocker missed his mark. It?s being said that Brett has suffered a fractured nose in the whole ordeal. Oh no! His face can?t handle much more plastic surgery. He might end up looking like Michael Jackson pretty soon.
