Christina Aguilera rocked out on the Today Show this past Tuesday in New York City. The 29-year old powerhouse singer sang a couple of songs from her new album ‘Bionic’ which is already out in stores. On the show, Christina shared how her son influenced her most recent album. The pop star shared to Matt Lauer “I was completely inspired by a lot of electronic music when my son was born. We both were listening to it a lot together. Having a child makes me think about the future and the next generation. And I got really inspired by electronica. He definitely inspires the playful side of me that I didn’t really have prior to having him. He really inspired me.”
Among the many, many surprises prepared by the American Idol producers that got leaked on the internet was also the rumor of Janet Jackson’s appearance on the show. True enough, the singer did make a “surprise” appearance, apparently at a very good moment in order to break-up a very nasty sounding chorus formed of the contestants and sing “Nothing” and “Nasty”, which is quite ironic in hindsight. Also Janet Jackson probably took the opportunity to show off her new haircut and shock her fans… some of whom might have confused her for Rihanna. She might want to get ready for a lot of that since now the two are very much similar.
As no American Idol finale would be complete without two finalists, Crystal Bowersox has to have somebody to battle it out with and that somebody is apparently going to be Lee DeWyze. For his big performance last night Simon Cowell picked Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” for Lee DeWyze saying the following about the choice: “This is his night, big, big night for him, and I wanted him to do something which shows that he has potential to be a great artist.” It looks like Simon Cowell’s gut really does tell him some true things because it was an excellent choice for Lee DeWyze who managed to drown the whole place in applause when he was done… and he also got himself a nice first place on the idol meter.
A 12-year-old US child prodigy has become a YouTube sensation with his rendition of the Lady Gaga hit Paparazzi.
Greyson Michael Chance was filmed performing the song on the piano at Edmond middle school’s Chorus Performance Night’.
And the video has so far clocked up over one and a half million hits after being posted on his own YouTube page last week.
Chance, who bears a slight resemblance to other YouTube favourite Justin Bieber, can be seen in the clip whipping the audience of teen girls into a frenzy with his spot-on vocals and adept key strokes.
As well as posting his version of Paparazzi, Chance has also included videos of him performing two songs he has written – Stars’ and Broken Hearts’.
Tik Tok star Ke$ha has announced she will perform at a benefit concert in her hometown of Nashville next month following the recent floods.
The 23-year-old is from Nashville herself and will sing at the special flood benefit concert on June 16, at the Limelight.
She said: “I’m thrilled to announce that I will be playing a show to help benefit Nashville, my hometown. One hundred per cent of the profits from ticket sales will go to help the victims of these devastating floods.
“Nashville helped shape me as an artist and as a person and my love for this city is beyond words.
“I will continue to do anything I can to help rebuild this city and support the families and animals who have been affected by this tragedy.”

Well, its pretty obvious who the star of last nights American Idol episode was. A mere glance at Simon Cowells comment about Michael Lynches performance will be more than an answer to that question: “The first three performance have been OK. Now, with you, that’s all changed. … I actually felt that you listened and that everyone worked together on that performance. … Fantastic. Well done.” It looks like the American Idol contestant really managed to sell Frank Sinatras The Way You Look Tonight to the judges and to the audience from the looks of the Idol Meter. Theres really no doubt now about whos going to be safe this week.

The Baywatch beauty and Pussycat Doll teamed up for a cha-cha challenge danced to Lady Gaga hit Telephone.
Both stars sizzled in PVC trenchcoats as they appeared on stage with their dancers before ripping them off to reveal skimpy silver-sequinned minis.
Pam got in character with Lady Gaga-inspired gold paint above her eye, while Nicole at times looked like she might lose her top.
Along with their third teammate, American Football star Chad Ochocinco, Team Gaga danced to victory 27-24 over their Team Madonna opponents Niecy Nash, Erin Andrews and Evan Lysacek.
Earlier, Pam had scored her highest points to date with a waltz, earning her and partner Damien Whitewood 24 points.
Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough, also dancing the waltz, managed to get 27 points.
“I just have to say, flat-out, you are by far the best dancer we’ve ever had on this show, said Carrie Ann Inaba. “You dance almost as Derek’s equal.”
Bruno Tonioli added: “You’re as close to dancing royalty as you can possibly be.
The highest score in the individual dances, however, was awarded to Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek and his partner Anna Trebunskaya.
“It was just the perfect combination of power, control and sexy in a whole different way!” said Carrie Ann Inaba. Added Bruno Tonioli: “You danced like a true alpha male.

Its pretty amazing to believe that he actually has something like that, but apparently its true. It looks like Simon Cowell is quite partial to screams he must be a closet metal fan. Siobhan Magnus decided to go with Any Man of Mine on Shania Twain week and she ended it with a really powerful scream of which the fabled Earl of Exigency had this to say: “The screaming at the end may have gone a little bit … it was almost like you were giving birth up there.” He just doesnt know how to say he dug Siobhan Magnus performance. It looks like we may have a winner on our hands at least for this week.

And apparently, its the best place to be on American Idol, at least as far as Randy Jackson is concerned. Lee DeWyze apparently had a very good rendition of Elvis Presleys Treat her like a lady which probably left Randy Jackson Speechless but he still managed to mutter a few things, though: “Dude, you are definitely in the zone, dude. Very dude. Very good, dude.” Simon Cowell apparently isnt familiar with the realm of dude, but he too says only good things about Lee DeWyzes performance: “That was on the money, full stop.” It seems that the American Idol contestant managed to take the cup last night lets see how long he can hold it.
It seems that the American Idol contestant managed to prepare a real treat for the judges last night as he chose Treat Her Like That from the Cornelius Brothers. Lee DeWyze apparently almost knocked them dead with his performance and if you need any proof of that just take a look at what Simon Cowell said about it: “You know, I’ve always believed in you. This was the night your life may have changed forever.” Yes, well Simon Cowell probably believes in everybody who can get close to winning. Still it is a good thing for Lee DeWyze to be on his good side he may never know when he might need a favor from the gods.
There was a change of plans on American Idol this week. On Tuesday, the top 10 female semifinalists were supposed to perform. But due to last minute medical issues with one of the contestants, the top 10 guys took to the stage. Though it wasnt revealed what the exact problem was, it was revealed on Wednesdays show that it was aspiring singer Crystal Bowersox that caused the whole switch. I was glad to see that all the singers were able to pull themselves together even though the guys got wind of the switch just a few hours before their performances and that Crystal was able to perform on Wednesday.
To celebrate the release of their eighth studio album, Crash Love, AFI took to the stage at the world famous Roxy on Sunset thanks to local Los Angeles radio station KROQ. In front of an intimate crowd of hundred’s, rather than thousands that typically fill AFI shows, the band played a thrashing 14 song set filled with classics of the past, and a handful of Crash Love gems that are soon to be just that. Highlights of the night were too many to capsulize, but front man Davey Havok’s front flip into the waiting crowd on “Kill Caustic” and the stunning rendition of The Cure’s classic “Just Like Heaven” marked just a few of the moments that lit up the night. Reminiscent of 1995, AFI welcomed Nick 13 (Tiger Army) and Geoff Kresge (ex AFI/Tiger Army) to the stage to sing “Nyquil,” a track from the band’s first album, Answer That and Stay Fashionable. Electric performances of AFI’s radio singles “Miss Murder” and Crash Love’s “Medicate” put a cap on a night that will not soon be forgotten by the fan’s lucky enough to be present that night.

UK fans who wanted to see Ne-Yos performance at Mercy nightclub in Norwich last Sunday received some major disappointment. Not only did the singer not show up until 2Am, but he also only performed one and a half songs before leaving the stage abruptly. The nightclub was forced to issue a statement on its website saying that they were apologizing for the failed event and that they will be issuing full refunds within a month. However, the club was forced to retract that statement due to legal reasons and that they are still in negotiation to resolve all the issues regarding the matter. I think ticketholders will just get screwed.
The Veronicas are set to perform their single “Take Me On The Floor” live next week on So You Think You Can Dance! The Aussie duo will grace the stage of the results show on Thursday, June 25th. The singer and actress surprised people in Georgia when she took a break from filming The Last Song and sat in with a band performing at a beachside seafood restaurant and played two songs. The restaurants owner related the reactions of those present there: “By the time she finished the first song, there must have been 50 little girls and their moms who came rushing up.” Apparently, they also had a bit of a hard time getting Miley Cyrus out of the restaurant afterwards, the owner relates: “We asked her, `What do you wanna do?’ and she said `I want to get out of here.’ So we walked her to a side entrance nobody knew about and got her in her car.” Oh, Miley Cyrus promoters will probably be furious about this one. Singing unscheduled songs for free just for the fun of it? How utterly unartistic and unprofessional!

The American Idol contestant blew away with his performance yet again. For last evening he went with Cryin by Aerosmith and his vocal coverage was supposedly excellent but the band didnt quite perform up to the singer. Still, the reactions were no less than what was expected. Randy Jackson himself said this about Adam Lamberts performance: “You should be a rock star! That’s who you are, baby!” It looks like Simon Cowells statement is slowly becoming a reality Adam Lambert has apparently dodged the oncoming bullet once more gee, what a surprise! Still, there is also tonight to be considered who knows, the show may yet hold more surprises.
In a new interview with Popeater, Katy Perry talks about the odd facial expressions that John Mayer makes when hes performing. The I Kissed a Girl singer revealed John Mayer said hes trying to get rid of his “O” face. Oh, I think its sexy. Why would he try to get rid of something thats just so cool? If Johns so-called O face is what Katy thinks to be sexy, then Im highly turned on by overweight plumbers who show their butt cracks as their fixing the leak under the kitchen sink. Johns facial expressions have been the center of some of my nightmares.
Did any of you wonder just why you had to dial Idols 36 for Alexis Grace instead of Idols 13? Apparently, the folks over at American Idol have hit a bit of a perverted snag by having a final 13 this year instead of 12. It turns out that the sequenced telephone number for the 13th performer is already in use by a phone sex company. American Idol only owns twelve numbers, 1-866-IDOLS-01 through 1-866-IDOLS-12, and the porn company snatched up 1-866-IDOLS-13. Also, Ryan Seacrest hinted at a changed rule on the elimination show. Simon Cowell did one better by saying that it involves the judges. Im thinking that while America gets to pick the bottom performers, it will be the judges who will do the eliminating. Jessica Simpson walked off the stage in tears right in front of fans that after a series of onstage blunders at a concert in Michigan on February 6. When she could no disguise her mistakes no longer she thought it would be better if she just got off the stage.
Standing at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan the singer was opening for Rascal Flatts but during her entire 38 minute stay of the stage was filled with repeated errors and the reason behind the mess is believe to be her in-ear audio monitors causing her to forget her lyrics positions on the stages.
Really that would have been a day she would like to forget in a hurry, would been so embarrassing for a singer and performer of her stature to have an off day like this.
We all have bad days. Perhaps all the press heat with regard to Jessica’s weight gain is taking a toll on her. My advice, just pick up yourself, and dust yourself off!

The rocker bluntly answers with I have an album to promote dummy. It’s not rocket science. And here I thought he was one of those few rockers who did everything with integrity.
