Jared Leto and the rest of his band 30 Seconds to Mars have a new video out for ‘Kings + Queens’. The video features bicyclists cruising around LA. Jared went on his Twitter after the shoot, saying “Shoot was insane and amazing. Just realized the first time we played KINGS+QUEENS together was up there overlooking LA. Fitting. ” After a two year battle to get their new album completed and released, it’s finally ready and the singer/actor couldn’t be more excited. Jared told MTV “We spent two years of our lives working on that record, and it was us against the world. We didn’t have outside influence or help, we didn’t have a label, we had us, betting the farm, and pushing ourselves.”

Tokio Hotel Win MTV EMA

Tokio Hotel took home the “Best Group” award at the MTV European Music Awards in Berlin beating out the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers, Kings of Leon and Green Day. Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav also rocked an epic performance of their international single “World Behind My Wall” complete with insane pyro and explosive stage effects. The track appears on the recently released Humanoid album.

Beyonce takes three prizes at MTV Europe

Beyonce scooped three awards at the MTV Europe Music Awards at the ceremony to mark the tearing down of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago.

The singer was awarded the best female, best song for Halo, and the best video for Single Ladies [Put a Ring on It].

She told the audience: “I have to dedicate this award to all the other beautiful artists. Thank you MTV for this wonderful honour,” upon receiving her best female award.

Jay-Z, Beyonce’s hip-hop musician husband, won the best urban act category. He said: “I look forward to the day when all those walls come down.”

Beyonce stepped up after her husband’s speech and performed Sweet Dreams.

Eminem won best male act. He thanked his supporters in a video message.

Katy Perry hosted the prestigious event, which included a video tribute to the late king of pop, Michael Jackson.

MTV Will Air DJ AM Documentary

MTV has decided that they will air ‘Gone Too Far’, the documentary series on young drug addicts that the late DJ AM finished just three days before he died from an accidental overdose. The network says that they got the consent and support of the late entertainer’s family before choosing to run the eight-episode series which features him working with real life drug addicts and their families to help them overcome substance abuse. MTV released a statement saying “It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others.” The series will premiere on Monday.

The All-American Rejects Rock New York City

The All-American Rejects got busy in New York City this week starting off with a special performance of their hit single “Gives You Hell.”

They took the stage with house band Wale at MTV’s VMAs show where front man Tyson Ritter debuted a new glittery look. After rocking the proverbial house, Ritter caught up with MTV news

and confirmed the long standing rumor that he will in fact be teaming up with pop powerhouse Rihanna for a yet to be recorded track. With AAR’s stock rising by the day, it only made sense for the quartet to cap their week by ringing the opening bell for the New York Stock Exchange

Madonna Talks Michael Jackson

Madonna was at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards which were held at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall last Sunday. The 51-year old singer spoke during the Michael Jackson tribute at the beginning of the show and even introduced for Janet Jackson’s performance. The Queen of Pop spoke about her love of Michael and the things that were parallel in their lives. She said that the late singer was “so unique, so original, so rare. He was a king.” I only have one comment for Madonna though. When talking about someone you’re supposed to be paying a tribute to, I don’t think talking about yourself more is an appropriate thing to do.

Kelly Rowland: ‘Beyonce is classy and gracious’

Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland has praised Beyonce for how she acted at the recent MTV VMAs.

Beyonce, 28, won the video of the year award and gave up her stage time to 19-year-old Taylor Swift.

Kanye West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video to say he felt Beyonce deserved to win.

Rowland said: “Beyonce is such a classy, gracious woman. I actually Tweeted that, and everybody was like: ‘It’s so true.’”

She added that she thought Kanye’s interruption was “disturbing”.

She told USmagazine.com: “I think that as a music industry and a fellow artist, it’s important to know that there is room for everybody. Kanye is a genius – no one takes that away from him, but [he should] be moral and be a [good] person.”

Death Cab for Cutie Does New Moon

Death Cab for Cutie, the first official band to be penning a song for the movie soundtrack of ‘New Moon’, revealed that they were invited to a special screening of the movie – a five-hour long version of it. Guitarist Chris Walla, the only member of the band whose admitted to reading the books, explains that the cut didn’t include any “effects or Foley or music or anything” and they ended up declining the invite due to schedule conflicts. Death Cab for Cutie’s video for their ‘New Moon’ song ‘Meet Me on the Equinox’ will be released on MTV.com on September 13th.

Jennifer Lopez Working on New Album

Jennifer Lopez is currently busting her butt working on her upcoming film ‘The Back Up Plan’. Apparently, that’s not all the 39-year old actress is up to. The actress and singer is already working on her next album which could be out as early as this year. She recently told MTV News about it saying “I worked on music while I was pregnant and while I was at home, but now to really get into it and focus on it and to finish the project is exciting. You can’t help but put not only your kids into it, but to put anything you are going through in your music. That’s the only thing you can really sing or write is stuff that you know. The more music you make and the more that you get into it and the more you write, the more you realize that’s all you can write.”

It’s not like any of us thought otherwise but the butt-to-mouth incident between Eminem and Sacha Baron Cohen’s character Bruno at Sunday night’s 2009 MTV Movie Awards was all for show. Head writer Scott Aukerman confirmed on his blog that “Yes, the Eminem-Bruno incident was staged. They rehearsed it at dress [rehearsal] and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show.” Insiders who attended the awards thought that “There’s no way it was an accident… You don’t let two stars collide without a detailed plan.” Of course it wasn’t! As far as Eminem walking out after the skit, most of the big names at the show bailed after they did their part presenting/accepting/performing.

Miley Cyrus Wins at MTV Movie Awards

Miley Cyrus attended the 2009 MTV Movie Awards which was held at the Gibson Amphitheatre this past Sunday in Universal City, California. The 16-year old ‘Hannah Montana’ star snagged herself one of those golden pop corn trophies for her hit song ‘The Climb’ from ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ which won Best Song From a Movie. It’s pretty clear that tweenies had a majority vote in the awards ceremony considering there were songs in that category that was much more deserving of the win. Oh well, congratulations to Miley on the win regardless. It will probably be the only award she would win anyway.

MTV2 premieres new video from Saving Abel

MTV2 have premiered the video for �18 Days,� the new single from Saving Abel. The clip was directed by Travis Kopach (Panic At The Disco, Black Tide) and features the band performing on the USS Hornet. The San Francisco based naval carrier won 9 battle stars for her service in WWII.

Saving Abel will be out on tour supporting Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold starting on November 4th. Check out the band�s MySpace profile page for all of the dates.

Adam Levine and Rihanna took some time to pose for pictures during the taping of MTV?s ?FNMTV? on Wednesday in Hollywood. The pair, along with Adam?s band Maroon 5, sang their new duet version of ?If I Never See Your Face Again? off the re-release of Maroon 5?s album. ?FNMTV? is a music video program on MTV which is focused on premiering new music videos in an attempt to bring back music video programming on MTV. That?s right, get rid of shows like ?The Hills?. The show is hosted by Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and it airs every Friday at 8PM ET/PT.

Tokio Hotel have just announced they will perform ?Ready, Set, Go!? on Late Night with Conan O?Brien on May 9th.

Thanks to the massive amounts of on-line votes, the diehard Tokio Hotel fans have booked the band another spot on TV with a #2 video (?Ready, Set, Go!?) today on MTV?s TRL.

Tokio Hotel will release the U.S. version of Scream on May 6th.
