It seems that Rihanna was somewhat of an unexpected guest at Mariah Carey’s Halloween party last weekend. Sources are saying that the two ladies refused to be photographed together and didn’t even speak for the whole night. A source said “It was Mariah’s party, but Rihanna didn’t want to be seen with her. And Mariah was not going over to greet Rihanna. Mariah needed six guards to clear a path to the bathroom so her wings wouldn’t be dislodged.” The Barbadian singer partied with Ne-Yo and some friends in a booth while Mariah stuck close to hubby Nick Cannon in a VIP area. Are these the makings of a diva rivalry?
Just as it was predicted, Mariah Carey is going downhill. According to Hits Daily Double, the singer’s ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ displayed some lacklustre sales, as her album was overshadowed by both Paramore and Barbra Streisand, coming in at a lowly number 3. Any other time in Mariah’s music career and you would have easily predicted that she’s going to be at the top of the mountain. But to be topped by a young band and an iconic diva who didn’t even do any promotion for her album, all I can say is that it’s a long way down for Mariah.

Carey allegedly doesn’t insist on been photographed from the right-hand side anymore like she used to.
The 40-year-old said: “I don’t feel like, ‘Oh I have to be on this side, or I have to be on this side’. I really had specific things that someone told me when I was 19 and starting in the business and I listened to them. I don’t care anymore.”
The superstar, who is renowned for been a diva, is currently travelling around the US promoting her new album and fragrance.
The Heartbreaker singer has also recently addressed rumours that she and her actor/comedian husband Nick Cannon are going to have kids, saying that the they will have them one day.

It looks like we have yet to see the end of the Eminem VS Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey story. The rapper has recently released a track called ‘The Warning’ which completely eviscerates the curvaceous singer and her husband. In the song, Eminem claims to have naked pictures of Mariah which he threatens to release and he calls Nick the F word, amongst other things. We can all be sure that Nick will have something to say about this. But of course, we also don’t expect that it will be as massive as what Eminem has to say. Nick should just admit defeat now.
Mariah Carey’s mediocre single ‘Obsessed’ debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at a very disappointing number 11. The new charts came in recently and as it was predicted, the singer has suffered a steep decline. Mariah’s single has dropped to number 20 and it’s likely that it won’t even crack the top 10 at all. Radio hasn’t been that receptive to the song and Mariah had just announced that she is delaying the release of her new album. That sucks for her. She needs to come out with a new song and hope that it will do loads better than the song that’s out right now.
It is being reported that Madonna’s final album with Warner Brothers is going to be called ‘Iconography’. The greatest hits collection will include three new tracks. The album is also said to be looking at a mid-September release. It looks like September will be the month of the divas. Barbara Streisand will be releasing an album of all new material on the same month. Whitney Houston’s comeback album ‘Undefeated’ will also be out in September. And Mariah Carey’s ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ will also see a September release. How will Madonna’s album hold up in the battle of the divas? Who do you think is going to come out on top?
The former rapper has recently written on his blog about how Eminem openly attacked his relationship with wife Mariah Carey. Nick Cannon wrote: “Not only has his music not evolved, but also homeboy is still obsessed with my wife. The same female that wouldn’t let him get to second base from 8 years ago. This so-called man has just disrespected and slenderized one of the world’s most significantly influential artists, one of the most notable BLACK females of our time, the incredibly cherished, globally loved and world-embraced woman of color, Mariah Carey.” Nick Cannon also prompted Eminem for the two of them to deal with the problem: “Man to man, let’s meet up and deal with this like adults. This is my invitation to you, whenever and wherever you like sir.” Indeed, very mature of Nick Cannon to want to kick Eminem’s ass for a song. And very mature of Eminem to be so direct with his lyrics and not try a more subtle approach… society has indeed evolved from its earlier cave days.
Mariah Carey performed live on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show during a concert at Babylon Court at Hollywood and Highland last week in Hollywood. The 38-year old curvaceous diva performed five songs and even featured a guest appearance by rapper Young Jeezy. She performed ?Shake It Off?, ?We Belong Together?, ?I?m That Chick?, and a medley of ?I?ll Be Lovin? U/Touch My Body?. The mini concert served as a kickoff for the 2008 Samsung AT&T Summer Krush tour which also includes the participation of Gavin Rossdale, LeAnn Rimes, Nelly, Smashing Pumpkins and Good Charlotte. All those stars and they still enlisted the help of Nick Cannon?s lip synching wife.
If you were one of those people who Mariah Carey left high and dry at her CD signing at Universal City Walk last week, the curvaceous diva has arranged something for you in her efforts to make nice of what she did. Mariah left the event without signing the CDs for about 100 people that had been guaranteed that she would give her autograph. If you were one of the jilted fans, take the blue wrist band that was given to you with the purchase of her album back to the Hard Rock Caf? at City Walk on April 25. There will be people there who will arrange to have an autograph sent your way.
This piece of news is already getting old but if it?s happening, I might as well write about it. According to the new Soundscan singles chart, Madonna knocks off Mariah Carey from the top spot this week. The Queen of Pop?s ?4 Minutes (To Save the World)? stays even with sales from last week but the curvaceous diva?s ?Touch My body? drops more than 40% in sales to come in at the number 4 spot. That doesn?t bode well for Mariah?s single or her album. Considering that it?s not even out yet and sales are already dropping, it may result in a flop. Maybe that full album leak has something to do with it.
She may have conquered the iTunes singles chart but I guess that?s the only positive thing that we can expect from Mariah Carey. The curvaceous singer?s new single ?Touch My Body? is not on the number 15 spot on the Billboard singles chart this week. The song has been on the chart for six weeks but has failed to even just break into the top 10 having only peaked at a high of the number 14 spot last week. But with her single being number 1 on iTunes, here?s to hoping that the digital downloads will help her even just for a little bit.
If music pre-sales was a high jump competition, Madonna would win without any contest. Just a few days ago, the Queen of Pop?s upcoming album ?Hard Candy? was at the number 18 spot on the Amazon best sellers list for CDs and it?s not even out until the end of April. Just yesterday, the album is already at number 2. It?s not quite the top, but she?s getting there. Mariah Carey managed to move up on the list as well. She?s at number 40 ? a far distance from Madonna but at least she?s already on the list. Her record will be out a full 2 weeks before Madonna?s and she wasn?t even on the top 100 of the list a couple of days ago.
Mariah Carey has unveiled the cover art for her latest album ?E=MC?? which means ?Emancipation equals Mariah Carey to the second power?. The 38-year old curvaceous diva looks pretty naked on the cover and only covered by a fur blanket. She also does Beyonce?s infamous armpit pose and much like it is for Beyonce, it really does nothing for her. The album will be released on April 15. By the way, Mariah will be on American Idol next month. She?s actually going to be on the show 3 times ? on ?Idol Gives Back? on the 9th, mentoring the contestants on the 15th and performing on the 16th.
