It looks like the superstar’s profession is finally catching up with her. One of Madonna’s neighbours from New York is suing her because of frequent loud music and dance sessions. It seems that all of Madonna’s neighbours are bothered by the fact that she’s using her appartment as a rehearsals studio and she has previously been threatened with eviction. Madonna has probably already thought of a sollution for this one. She’s most likely going to bring her boyfriend by much more often… but of course, that’s no guarantee that the decibel level will get any lower than it is now.
Guy Ritchie is clearly trying to get himself some attention as he has brought up his ex-wife Madonna. In a recent interview for Esquire Magazine, the director starts off with some much deserved praise for the Queen of Pop, saying “Madonna makes things happen. Put Madonna up against any twenty-three-year-old, she’ll outwork them, out-dance them, outperform them. The woman is broad.” But then Guy goes and ruins that by going on about his love for the singer saying “I still love her. But she’s retarded, too.” I would get if he still harbors some resentment but couldn’t he find a more suitable or mature adjective to describe her?

Reports are saying that Madonna will be making a return to Saturday Night Live some time this season. The Queen of Pop is apparently set to make her return after 16 years and word has it that she’s also likely to be performing. However, execs of the show are trying to have her do both – perform and host, that is. I think that the singer should do it all! I just hope that she doesn’t give current boy toy Jesus Luz any cameos unless he’s shirtless and he doesn’t talk at all. However, I do welcome cameos from her daughter Lourdes and her son Rocco.

Madonna was at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards which were held at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall last Sunday. The 51-year old singer spoke during the Michael Jackson tribute at the beginning of the show and even introduced for Janet Jackson’s performance. The Queen of Pop spoke about her love of Michael and the things that were parallel in their lives. She said that the late singer was “so unique, so original, so rare. He was a king.” I only have one comment for Madonna though. When talking about someone you’re supposed to be paying a tribute to, I don’t think talking about yourself more is an appropriate thing to do.
Madonna just keeps on blowing minds and breaking records and it looks like she’s not going to stop any time soon. In the September 26th issue of Billboard, the Queen of Pop’s single ‘Celebration’ has become the singer’s 40th number one single on the Hot Dance Club Play Chart. That’s more hit singles than any other artist in the history of the chart! Talk about achieving a great milestone. I bet the second placer with regards to number one hits doesn’t even come close. Madonna is utterly amazing! Congratulations are definitely due out to her. And you can bet that there’s more where that came from.
Madonna’s fans tend to worship the ground that the singer walks on, but apparently, not everything the Queen of Pop says is golden. A crowd of 60,000 people in Bucharest, Romania began to boo Madonna when she spoke out against discrimination against Gypsies in Eastern Europe. She said that no one should be discriminated against and that it made her sad that Gypsies, also known as Roma, faced that kind of ordeal. That’s when thousands of fans in attendance, who didn’t agree, loudly booed the pop singer. Madonna didn’t react to the negative response from the crowd. When will the day when thoughts of free thinking people be received warmly?
African stage stars are putting on a show called Mercy Madonna of Malawi which mocks the singer’s two adoptions from the country.
The 50-year-old performer has two adopted children David, three, and Mercy, four, who were both adopted from Malawi.
The Material Girl is being played by an African actor in a blonde wig in the show, which is using rewritten versions of Madge’s tracks mocking the adoptions.
The actor is joined by dancers wearing “Adopt Me” t-shirts and they have brought their show to the UK and will perform at the Edinburgh Festival. They say they are trying to show a local perspective of the star’s adoptions.
The audience of the show are reportedly asked at the end whether or not they believe the adoptions should have been allowed.
The show’s director Toby Gough said: “I know one of Madonna’s dancers and I’ve sent him an email saying: ‘Please invite her along.’ I haven’t heard back yet.”
ES Group, the company that was hired to build Madonna’s stage for the cancelled concert in France where two workers died with eight others injured, have released a statement regarding the accident. After expressing their grief regarding the tragedy, their rep said “At present, it would not be appropriate to speculate on potential causes of the accident, but we are working closely with the French authorities to investigate what caused this incident. This is normal practice for such an incident and we will provide a further update as soon as it is possible.” Mind you, the company is also responsible for a collapsed stage at Dodger’s Stadium in LA for Madonna’s show last November.
It is being reported that Madonna’s final album with Warner Brothers is going to be called ‘Iconography’. The greatest hits collection will include three new tracks. The album is also said to be looking at a mid-September release. It looks like September will be the month of the divas. Barbara Streisand will be releasing an album of all new material on the same month. Whitney Houston’s comeback album ‘Undefeated’ will also be out in September. And Mariah Carey’s ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ will also see a September release. How will Madonna’s album hold up in the battle of the divas? Who do you think is going to come out on top?
It seems that the rocker recently admitted to lending a helping hand for Madonna when she was facing extreme pressure regarding the adoption of Mercy James and needed a place to lay low. That place turned out to be Lenny Kravitz’s French mansion as the singer himself relates: “It has been tough for Madonna. But she’s doing good. She’s been staying in my place in France while it was going on. I’m glad it’s worked out.” Indeed, what more inconspicuous place to hide from the media than a French mansion… especially one that belongs to Lenny Kravitz. Really, what was the catch? Was the mansion haunted? Abandoned? How come Madonna actually managed to find peace there?
While the paperwork that will allow the latest addition to Madonna’s family to go to her new home is being completed, the singer has apparently made sure that her new daughter gets the best conditions possible and has had her taken to a lodge in Malawian capital, Lilongwe, where she will have a nanny and a nurse looking after her. Looks like Mercy is already reaping the fruits of being Madonna’s new baby. But, as always, she’s not going to be a baby forever… let’s see how privileged she is after she becomes a pretentious little girl due to all of this attention.
Madonna is proof that you can’t please everyone. The Queen of Pop is slated to perform in Poland on August 15th but the Catholic community there is screaming a big “NO!” The date happens to be the same as the Assumption of Mary feast, a celebration of the holy Madonna. Members of the Catholic community are reaching out to the government to cancel the concert. However, there are no plans yet to do so. A committee is already being made to stage a massive protest outside the concert. If there are a lot of Polish Madonna fans, that protest wouldn’t mean a single thing.
Paul Oakenfold, the DJ who is supporting Madonna on her “Sticky and Sweet” tour recently stated that the star is not too hard to get in the proper mood. Paul Oakenfold said: “Planning my set for a Madonna show is tough because she covers the whole spectrum. It’s a white, black, gay, straight crowd, aged between 15 and 60. It’s no good making it too underground. Despite the big venues it’ll still be clubby and I’ll get the crowd going. And it doesn’t take much to get Madonna in the mood.” This is all fine and dandy, but still, get Madonna in the mood for what, more exactly? To get her in the mood for performing? I wasn’t aware that such a thing is a requirement for her live shows.
A three judge panel will hear an appeal to High Court Judge Esme Chombo’s ruling to refuse Madonna’s adoption of little Mercy James today. High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal spokesman Joseph Chigona said “Since this involves an infant it will be heard in chambers. This is an important case; that’s why the chief justice himself has taken special interest.” Good luck to Madonna. If the officials in Malawi truly care about one of their own, they would be in favor of the Queen of Pop’s appeal. I doubt you could find a better life for Mercy than the one that Madonna’s offering.
Madonna was taken to a hospital on Saturday after falling off a horse at the home of photographer pal Steven Klein in New York’s South Hampton. The Queen of Pop’s rep Liz Rosenberg gave a statement to Us Weekly saying “The accident occurred when the horse Madonna was riding was startled by paparazzi who jumped out of the bushes to photograph the singer, who was visiting friends on Eastern Long Island over the weekend. Madonna will be having further tests and will continue to remain under observation by doctors.” Madonna’s manager also commented on the accident saying “Madonna’s accident today was caused by the paparazzi. They spooked the horse she was riding. These guys don’t know when to stop!!
The singer who came to New York after her divorce from Guy Ritchie with whom she lived in London has apparently bought a new home there which is in British style and for which she paid no less than forty million dollars. A source said the following about Madonna’s new purchase: “The townhouse is perfect for Madonna. She’s trying to recreate London in New York City, and this is in the style of a London townhouse.” That’s a lot of money to throw out just for the sake of similarity to London. Does all of this give up the slightest hint that Madonna is not at all over her relationship with Guy Ritchie? No, it couldn’t be! After all, who doesn’t buy a forty million-dollar home every now and again?
It’s been revealed that Britney Spears will be performing with Madonna when she goes back to New York City on Monday. The recovered pop star’s stylist, David Alexander, spilled to In Touch magazine saying “She’ll be singing with Madonna in New York. It will be ‘Get Together’ and ‘Trouble.’ So, together the song is called ‘Lose Control.’” David also added that Madonna might also pop in for one of Britney’s Los Angeles shows on either April 16th or 17th. He said that it was supposed to be a surprise. Well I guess the cat’s out of the bag now huh?
