Lily Allen has dubbed her father Keith Allen “not a responsible adult” and “useless” for having left the family when she was only 4-years-old, according to reports.
“I feel I know that about him so I still want to have a relationship with him, so I make the effort to go and see him, I don’t expect him to come and see me just because I know what he’s like and there’s only so much you can say ‘Oh, that person’s useless’ because it’s pretty pointless,” the Smile singer is said to explain in an interview to air on Sky Arts.
The singer also lashed out at the Spice Girls, labelling them not “real” and declaring that S Club 7 made “rubbish” music, saying she was “irritated” by the pop culture of the past 20 years.
“I felt if I’m going to be a pop star I want to be a real pop star and I want to say real things,” the Express reports her as saying.
Lily Allen has revealed that a back injury caused her to cry on stage.
The Smile singer, who was in floods of tears last month for her performance in Helsinki, has said it was due to back pain.
The 24- year-old had a bad back after falling out of a DJ booth and landing on her tailbone.
She said: I was in Scandinavia playing these festivals and I met up with these guys called Scream and Benga, and another guy.
“They were DJing and I didn’t really want to like steal their limelight and stuff, so I was sort of crouching behind the decks, and I sort of fell off the back of their stage, about three feet onto my coccyx.
“It really was the most painful thing ever. It was really horrible, because I had one of my security guys with me, and he said he turned around and just saw these two feet sticking out of the floor, in the air.”
She added: “You know when you fall over your kind of natural reaction is to get straight back up again?
“But I was in so much pain I thought I was paralysed or something. I mean, I really thought that I was going to have to have my legs cut off.”
Allen had to battle through her back pain whilst on her most recent tour.
She told Absolute Radio: “They basically gave me what I can describe as like an epidural, I think, and yes, it kind of numbed from my knees to my lower back to get through this gig.
“But then half way through the gig the thing started running out and I just burst into tears on stage. It was so horrible, I was sobbing real toddler tears.”
The train wreck otherwise known as Lily Allen has been tearing through North America with no intentions of slowing her hard partying ways down. One concertgoer just tattled on Lilys bad behavior at her recent show in Denver, Colorado. The fan said We found her Twitter tix and they included VIP passes. After the show (which was incredible), we waited around for the meet and greet. Got down there only to find a totally wasted, totally incoherent Lily who bailed after five minutes. Ridiculous and really, really disappointing. By the way, they told everyone waiting to see Lily that there would be no photos or autographs. No photos? OF COURSE NOT! On her way out of the room, she couldn’t even make it up the stairs, she was so wasted. Now, what publicist would want a photo of that shit floating around on the interwebs?!
The singer recently tried to officially apologize, if we can call it that, to Lily Allen for some past remarks. Katy Perry said: “I really didn’t mean to upset her. What I actually said was that I was a skinnier version of Lily Allen and a fatter version of Amy Winehouse. But Lily Allen is skinny now. She is hot – she looks really good.” Now all thats left if for Katy Perry to be forgiven or drawn into even more sweet apologies and praises. Whatever the case, Lily Allen will probably not leave the whole bit forgotten and Katy Perry is in for a bit of a rollercoaster ride.
Lily Allen may have gotten back to her evil ways when she talks about Katy Perry but there is no shortage of love when the British singer talks about Britney Spears. Though theres a Madonna diss in there, Lily was nothing but loving towards the recovered pop princess Brit when she told the BBC Madonna is the most overrated artist of all time. [Britney] is a goddess and her new album is amazing. For Lilys sake, pray that Madonna never hears of what she said. She may end up with no work and in great debt if the Queen of Pop does get wind of it.
Lily Allen is frustrated that her new album isn?t going to be released this fall as her record label pushed its release back to next year. The Brit has taken to her blog to vent out her anger pretty much blaming her label about the delay. She even talks about the politics in the music industry. But maybe the label knows best. Wouldn?t you rather give them more time to promote a record than to rush something out? Or maybe Lily?s album just sucks and her label wants her to get some new material done. Of all the tracks leaked from her album, I?ve only heard one good one. That should say enough.
Lily Allen is not having any luck lately. Organizers of the UK?s Isle of Wight Festival are pissed off at the 22-year old British singer for backing out on them. Lily was supposed to play the June event but has cancelled due to her new album being behind schedule as said by promoter John Giddings in an interview with the BBC. Giddings said that the album delay was not an acceptable excuse and is wondering whether that is the real reason for her absence. He said, ?I read in the tabloids a load of different reasons. Unfortunately this country has developed some great new girl singer songwriters, but they seem to be having a few problems don’t they?? Ooh! He made a stab at Wino too!
