Kelly Clarkson is the latest singer to criticise Kanye West’s VMA outburst by calling him a “sad human being” on her blog.
Kelly, 27, was also nominated in the same category as Taylor Swift and Beyonce for the Best Female Video.
At the bash, Kanye jumped on stage while Taylor, 19, was collecting the gong and said that Beyonce, 27, should have won the award.
However, Kelly has since written a letter to Kanye on her blog, saying: “What happened to you as a child? Did you not get hugged enough??
“Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like s**t.
“I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty s****y things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, a**hole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you.”
She went on to say: “I like everyone. I even like my a**hole ex that cheated on me over you… which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you.
“The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up.”
Joe Jonas will be serving as a guest judge for this week’s set of American Idol auditions. It also seems that we’ll be seeing more guest judges as the season goes by. An insider recently told Pop Tarts that “At this stage it doesn’t look like Paula [Abdul] will be replaced by one person. The celebrity judges are working really well for now.” Other celebrities who will be joining Season 9 regular judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi include the likes of Shania Twain and Jennifer Lopez. Victoria Beckham and Mary J Blige have already finished their run as guest judges. Also, the original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, is said to be in negotiations to be a guest judge.
Performing during bingo nights and food festivals are things of the past for Constantine Maroulis as the American Idol alum has just gotten himself a Tony nomination. The 33-year old singer is nominated for Lead Actor in a Musical for his work as Drew Bowie in the 80s themed ‘Rock of Ages’. It may not be an Oscar like what Jennifer Hudson has or a Grammy like Kelly Clarkson’s and Carrie Underwood’s but it sure as heck beats working the day shift at Applebee’s with Idol winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard. When it comes to being an Idol alum, you take what you can get.
Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry were spotted together in Barbados last week. 24-year old Katy and 27-year old Kelly were among the stars that were in town to perform at Chum FM’s 24th anniversary celebration at Harbour Lights on Bay Street. 21-year old Barbadian native Rihanna was seen cheering for the two singers in the audience. Rihanna and Katy were also seen hanging out on the beach. I wonder what it would be like to have these three very talented singers collaborate on a song. I bet that it would be wonderful. Having them on a collaboration would be like a dream for me.
The former American Idol winner returned on last night’s show to give a stunning performance and remind everyone why American Idol really does create idols. Of course, this was a neat little incentive for her chart accomplishments to be made known to all: her second album “All I ever wanted” made #1 on the Billboard 200. We are also reminded that Kelly Clarkson was very successful in the charts in the past: “My December” was #2, and Breakaway, #3. Looks like American Idol manages its winners well and Kelly Clarkson is a perfect example of skillful publicity. What maddening heights will be reached by this season’s winner? It remains to be seen.
Kelly Clarkson performed at the Shockwaves Album Chart show and also made an appearance at Radio One studios to perform on Jo Whiley’s ‘Live Lounge’ this past Tuesday in London, England. The 26-year old original American Idol champion’s new single ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ has topped the charts at number one this week in the UK, beating out county singing cutie Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’. If they were the only two to choose from, the UK clearly has a win-win situation. They’ve got good taste. Maybe the complete leak of Kelly’s ‘All I Ever Wanted’ album helped her edge Taylor out.
The new Kelly Clarkson album has just leaked on the internet in its entirety. While that may come off as bad news, that’s where it ends. Everything else is good news after that. The great news is that the album is really good. I love it a whole lot even after just listening through it one full time. The whole thing is great! Almost every song has the potential to be a massive single for the original American Idol. That makes it official. Kelly Clarkson is back and she’s back with a vengeance! Congrats! I bet that the leak will even help her sell more albums rather than make her lose money.
Kelly Clarkson is becoming a regular at the blogging thing. Her latest official blog has a post written to her fans, thanking them for requesting and voting for her latest single ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’. She also wrote about her favorite song at the moment, her love of the ‘Twilight’ book saga and rehearsing. The original American Idol said “I’m about to start rehearsing the new record with the band and my first performance of ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ will be in the Bahamas …..so not too bad, very excited about that! ….So is the band ha! Just saw the final cut of my video which y’all will be seeing soon and it’s super cute! You ladies will love the leading man, Houston, and all you fellas out there ….well, y’all are stuck with me ha! just kidding”.
Kelly Clarkson was seen signing some autographs for fans after her interview with UK’s Radio One in London this past Sunday. As the 26-year old first ever American Idol champion wrote in her blog, she was in London to do some promo work for her new album ‘All I Ever Wanted’. Kelly’s first single off of that album is called ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’. Check it out. I think it’s nice. I wonder why she went to the other side of the pond first to do her promo work. When is she going to do promo work in her home country?
Britney Spears has made a successful comeback so now everyone is wondering if Kelly Clarkson will be just as lucky. After her disastrous last album, I have high hopes for the first American Idol to come back big. Reportedly, it’s bound to happen soon as the singer’s new record is expected to drop in the first half of next year. It is being said that she is already shooting the music video for her first single. The song is called ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ which was produced by hitmakers Max Martin and Dr. Luke. With those two working with her, expect a more radio-friendly sound from her.
The creative force behind the rise of rock band Evanescence, with hits “Bring Me to Life” and “The Fallen”, songwriter Ben Moody has taken his love for the music in a new direction; as head of the new, artist-centered label, FNR Records.
Since his departure from Evanescence in 2003, Moody has collaborated with some of the hottest stars in the music business; the established and the up-and-comers. His song-writing and producing credits include working with Avril Lavigne on her second release Under My Skin, penning “Nobody’s Home”, “This Time” with Celine Dion, “What About Now” from Chris Daughtry, and Moody co-wrote and produced the smash hit, “Because of You” with David Hodges for Kelly Clarkson. The reason for Moody’s new direction, FNR Records, is simple, he states, “after going to such great lengths to protect the integrity of a project during the creative process, it seemed almost sinful to let the major label monster destroy it.”
In order to live up to its credo of protecting the creative artists, FNR Records first client is a young, Montana native, Hana Pestle; an alternative rock/acoustic solo artist. Pestle’s sound carries a unique blend of influences as diverse as Radiohead, Sarah Mclachlan, and the Cranberries. Hana Pestle is now touring the Midwest, performing her songs, “These Two Hands”, “Just a Phase” and her own haunting rendition of “Hallelujah”.
Moody was instantly taken in by Pestle’s voice, “It only took Hana singing one song and I was sold . . . I have never in my life been more in awe of such a breathtaking natural talent.”
While Kelly Clarkson is busy performing at the Palladium in Cologne, Germany on Thursday, 4 possible tracks from the American Idol alum?s upcoming album have been posted and shared on internet forums and sites. The singer is said to release a pop album slated to drop in stores later this year with songs selected by Clive Davis and his team. That?s too bad for Kelly, having songs leaked months in advance of the album release. But on a good note, at least she can get feedback on what would sell on the market and she could change those 4 songs if they weren?t received well.
After the flop of her latest album ?My December?, it would almost seem that a lot of Kelly Clarkson haters surfaced. But be prepared to praise her once again. From the reports about her next album, there?s a lot of potential of it to be quite good. The original American Idol is working with the talent performer/songwriter/producer Ryan Tedder, the lead singer of OneRepublic. Ryan co-wrote Leona Lewis? international smash hit ?Bleeding Love? and he says that Kelly?s new songs will feature big choruses and heavy drum programming. In other words, it?s back to pop people! Ryan also revealed that the songs are heavily influenced by 90s electro-rockers Garbage and one song even features a bridge inspired by Mozart. Interesting.
New pals Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson are hitting the road together for a winter tour early next year. The flame-haired country queen and the first American Idol winner became friends when McEntire recorded Clarkson’s Because Of You hit with the pop star for her recent Reba Duets album. Clarkson has since signed McEntire’s husband, Narvel Blackstock, as her manager and the pair teamed up to record a Crossroads TV concert special for CMT.The odd couple have now lined up 15 dates for their 2 Worlds 2 Voices tour, which will begin in Ohio on January 17.The tour will include a Valentine’s Day date in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Miss Independent — that would be 25-year-old Texas pop-rock-gospel belter Kelly Clarkson — came to Toronto’s Massey Hall last night and blew the roof off the joint. Clarkson clearly knows how to make lemonade out of lemons and wrote a catchy song about the experience, Chivas, which ended up as a hidden track on My December.
Clarkson later had the audience judge a band pumpkin-carving contest in honour of Halloween that included one she co-designed that was inspired by Steve Carell’s chest-waxing scene in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and his now famous utterance “Kelly Clarkson!”
And can the girl ever sing, as she demonstrated on such pulse-pounding standouts as Behind These Hazel Eyes, Because of You, a gospel treatment of Patty Griffin’s Up to the Mountain, Miss Independent — with snippets of AC/DC’s Highway to Hell and Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love thrown into the mix — Breakaway, Walk Away, Sober, Chivas, and Since U Been Gone. The barefoot Clarkson dramatically opened the hour-and-20-minute show by recreating the album cover of My December, right down to wearing the same burgundy ball gown, which was quickly torn away to reveal a purple and black camisole and wide-legged black pants, while her seven-piece band maintained frozen poses
A white ruffled curtain sometimes acted as a barrier between Clarkson and her band and backdrop, which included a small staircase and a video screen, but it was really her connection to the audience and that powerhouse voice that was most impressive.
Even if demanding everyone “Jump!” as she did during Gone and Since U Been Gone didn’t always work.
