The voice of the millennium was the artist that had the distinct pleasure of closing the fabulously large Coachella Festival this year. And Kanye West apparently decided not to disappoint his fans so he went for something rather unexpected: he showed up in a signature Celine shirt from the Spring 2011 Womenswear Collection. Indeed it probably isn’t something Kanye West would wear too often, but it seems to have done wonders. The rumor goes that he put on quite the show. Who knows, maybe next time, he’ll try something even more courageous and original. It is terribly dark in the closet, but surely Kanye West will find his way out if he keeps trying.
Kanye West recently premiered the official music video for his new single “All of the Lights” via VEVO. The track is the fourth cut taken from the rapper’s critically-acclaimed latest album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”. As expected, the Hype Williams-directed video features a whole lot of different light effects. The visual starts with a minute-long black and white sequence with a girl wandering through a city and then being blinded by technicolor flashes. Kanye then raps his verses on top of a police car. Rihanna and Kid Cudi also appear on the video but not all of the people involved on the song do. It’s a pretty good visual.

A couple of weeks ago, Kanye West announced via Twitter that his joint album with fellow rapper Jay-Z would drop on 1.11.11. The date has come and gone and there’s still no album out. Now, it looks like the album has been delayed further as Kanye went to tweet about it, saying “WATCH THE THRONE COMING IN 2 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!” With all the delays that this album has seen, it better be good. I suppose I can forgive them if they do make it good. I wasn’t exactly thrilled with their latest single “HAM”. They’re two of the biggest names in hip hop. I would hate to take that back just because of this one album.
It looks like the Universe just wants to keep Kanye West’s genius at bay whatever the cost. It’s just that combined with Jay-Z’s mastery it would just create an album of epic proportions. So Kanye West and Jay-Z’s new album just keeps getting delayed. This is what Kanye West recently tweeted about the release date: “WATCH THE THRONE COMING IN 2 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!” So it’s another two months of excruciating wait for that greatly sought revelation. Well, at least all of the impatient ones out there can comfort themselves with the sheer awesomeness of the new song “H.A.M.” courtesy of the Kanye West and Jay-Z duo.
Kanye West is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Complex magazine. Instead of having an intensive interview with the rapper, the magazine had some of Kanyes friends talk about him. One such comment was from friend and collaborator Nicki Minaj. She said Hes a legend in hip-hop and in pop culture and to be on his album is a blessing. I dont even remember him ever working with a female rapper, so to be on an album and on a record this monstrous? I couldnt have planned it better in a perfect world. At least Kanye knows that there are some people in this world that still like him.
Kanye West has cancelled his November 26 Today Show concert in the wake of his torturous interview with Matt Lauer. The rapper went on Twitter to announce the news, saying Im not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. Im so happy the world got to see just a small piece of the set up. I blatantly said Im not performing on a tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance. Do you guys see what Im saying now? This is just a small slice of the day to day bull- that goes on to help precipitate the idea that Im an an ass- cause when I dont perform oh noooow Im the one thats crazy or a jerk! Timbaland recently reached out to his fans in a very cool way last week. The super producer posted a video on his Twitter page answering questions from his followers about what hes been up to. Topics ranged from his new free song giveaway to Kanye West. Timbaland also talked about working with Lady Gaga and admit that the collaboration between him and the princess of pop is already in the process of happening. That sounds awesome! I think he could definitely make a sick beat with Lady Gaga and she would definitely kill it on vocals. I wonder when this is going down.

Kanye West has finally gotten a release date for his fifth and as yet untitled album. The rappers new record will hit stores on November 22nd. It comes at a pretty good time too as it will be dropping right before everyone starts their holiday shopping. However, Kanye has to compete with the likes of Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj and Akon who also have albums coming out the very same week. Thats a lot of competition to deal with but I have a feeling that Kanye will do just fine. Im placing my bet on him to earn the top spot on the charts.

Kanye West returned to reprise his role as locally famous rapper Kenny West in the season premiere of The Cleveland Show this week. The episode featured a brand new song performed by Kanye and the voice of lead character Cleveland Brown, Mike Henry, called Be-cleve in Yourself. Producers said that though this was the second time they were working with Kanye, there were still nervous to have him in the studio. But everyone was in agreement that Kanye didnt come with an ego, coming in early and prepared and was nothing but a joy to work with. He even reportedly performed a spontaneous rap for everyone in the office. Cool!

Selita Ebanks has dismissed speculation that she is dating Kanye West. The rumour-mill went into overdrive when the 27-year-old model and former Celebrity Apprentice candidate was spotted watching the US Open with West in New York earlier this month. But she told OK Magazine that they are just ‘great friends’. She said, “I love his creativity. I love that he thinks outside the box. “He’s just himself. Not only am I a fan, I support him 100 percent.” West is believed to have turned up to support Ebanks last night as she hosted the New Yorkers For Children Gala in Manhattan.

A Miami federal judge has permitted Kanye West the option of not attending a mediation session with Suge Knight to resolve the lawsuit filed against him. If you recall, around 5 years ago, someone shot Sugein the leg at Kanyes house during a party. Since the shooter was never identified, Suge is suing the rapper for some big money. Instead of showing up in person, Kanye can just phone into the session from another location due to some long-standing business commitments outside the US. I say just pay Suge the million bucks hes suing for so Kanye can get on with his life.
Kanye Wests Twitter account is quickly becoming one of the biggest pages on the social networking site. But while the rapper may already have over half a million followers, he only had one person in the universe that he was following. At least that was the case last week. I went to check his page earlier this week only to find out that a big fat zero was hanging out on his page in the following section. I have to assume that Kanye decided to delete who he was following. If you remember, the random guy he chose to follow wasnt exactly grateful for having to be the only one followed. It seems that rapper Vince P. is suing Kanye West and claiming that the latters hit single Stronger contains lyrics that were the intellectual property of Vince P. Really? Kanye West, the voice of a generation, the genius of the century a common lyric thief? That cannot be! Simply the fact that this is happening will be an irremovable stain upon Kanye Wests name. No one will ever look at him with the same admiration they had in the past.

Kanye West is set to take the stage at the BET Awards on June 27. That would mark the rappers first awards show performance since interrupting Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs. Kanye is nominated for two BET awards including Video of the Year for Run This Town with Jay-Z and Rihanna. On Tuesday, he performed at 3 different high schools in the Chicago area as part of the Kanye West Foundations annual Stay in School event. Kanye also made an appearance at a Manhattan nightclub for a listening party featuring songs from his upcoming album Good Ass Job. Its about time he got back in the spotlight!

Kanye West is being serious with his latest blog post. I can tell because the rapper didn?t type in all caps and I could actually read it. He seems a little bummed that people believe a story that he demanded to be seated in first class and has taken to his official blog to complain. Kanye said ?I feel bad that people believe this kind of stuff or any random rumor that is taken as fact because ‘it’s on the internet.’ This rumor is particularly ironic because I was actually happy with a business class seat and was offered a seat in first class. A friend of mine was sitting in coach so asked if they could bump him up to business instead of putting me in first. There was absolutely no altercation in any way? I really could care less about where I sit on the plane? As a good person with a warm heart, it does bother me? Thank you to all my fans who still love and support me even though it’s not the trend right now! I’m sleeping in the studio and I won’t let you guys down!?

The singer recently spoke out about his support of gay marriage at the Grammy Awards and also called out others who have been toying with the idea to just go the distance. Jason Mraz had a very interesting message for Kanye West in respect of this idea: “Same as with Kanye ? I feel like he’s such a huge presence that if he really promotes it and says, ‘Listen, you need to do this,’ more people would rally for the cause. The more straight heavy-hitters speak up could really benefit the cause.” Go ahead? tell Kanye West he?s a big influence on people, like he didn?t already think enough of that by himself. Jason Mraz might have just set off a time bomb and it?s very unlikely that the explosion will benefit the cause much. Now it?s all up to Kanye West? hero extraordinaire!
