John Mayer performed ‘Human Nature’ at the Michael Jackson public memorial service which was held at the Staples Center this past Tuesday in Los Angeles. The 31-year old singer said “I’m honored to have been asked to play at MJ’s memorial service. I will be representing all of us who can’t be there. Going to say goodbye from all us kids. I also want you to know that I’m going not to ‘perform’ but to contribute… Proud to be a musician.” John didn’t actually sing the song but rather played it wonderfully on his guitar. It’s his own way of honoring Michael.
Michael Jackson Covers Time Time magazine has published a $5.99 special commemorative issue on the late King of Pop Michael Jackson which hit newsstands this past Monday. The singer apparently posted a rather intriguing message on twitter lately. Here’s what John Mayer wrote: “Last year P!nk kneed me in the nuts outside Chateau Marmont. I was puking blood for days. Did I make a scene?” Apparently, Pink doesn’t really like John Mayer very much, as she related some time ago: “I got into an argument with him. I don’t believe him as much as he believes him. He said something along the lines of, ‘I only shag really stupid women.’ And I said, ‘I guess they would have to be.’ I don’t get him at all.” Right… why would Pink get offended by that? And moreover, why would John Mayer feel the need to open up about what happened now of all times? The man must be running out of writing topics for twitter.
Taylor Swift recently spoke to Elle magazine about finding out about John Mayer wanting to do a duet with her. Back in March, the 31-year singer went on his Twitter to say “Waking up to this song idea that won’t leave my head. 3 days straight now. That means it’s good enough to finish, It’s called ‘Half of My Heart’ and I want to sing it with Taylor Swift. She would make a killer ‘Nicks’ in contrast to my ‘Petty’ of a song.” The country singing cutie told Elle “I freaked out when I heard because I’ve been such a big fan of John for such a long time. I’m really excited about just the idea that he would even mention me in his Twitter!”
While some people aren’t too happy about Kris Allen winning American Idol over Adam Lambert, experts say that the fans may have gotten it right. If you compare the singing styles of the final two, Kris is clearly a more marketable singer. It’s easier to make a great record out of R&B with a touch of John Mayer and Jason Mraz than an album of rock and roll with a touch of theater. And did you know that with the addition of Kris Allen in the set of winners of American Idol, three quarters of the winners are from the south? Power to the people!
In a new interview with Popeater, Katy Perry talks about the odd facial expressions that John Mayer makes when he’s performing. The ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer revealed “John Mayer said he’s trying to get rid of his “O” face. Oh, I think it’s sexy. Why would he try to get rid of something that’s just so cool?” If John’s so-called O face is what Katy thinks to be sexy, then I’m highly turned on by overweight plumbers who show their butt cracks as their fixing the leak under the kitchen sink. John’s facial expressions have been the center of some of my nightmares.
John Mayer revealed last week that he was going to be at the Oscars so I was waiting for him to come out with Jennifer Aniston on the red carpet. However, the couple chose to skip the main red carpet but they did choose to pose for photographers inside the Kodak theater. I wonder why they chose to skip it. Mayer won over music greats Kid Rock and Paul McCartney for the 2009 Grammy’s best male pop vocal performance for “Say”. He also won over Neil Young for the Grammy’s best solo rock vocal performance award for “Gravity”.

The two were unmindful of the guests, mostly close friends anyway, and danced and huddled the night away. Among the birthday girl’s guests were Courteney Cox and husband David Arquette, Sheryl Crow, Tobey Maguire and wife Jen, Oprah Winfrey, Kevin Nealon, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson and Sheryl Crow.

The 30-year old musician performed at The Molson Amphitheatre as part of his summer tour. Before he went through airport security for a flight out, a photographer asked him just how he found LA. His smartass answer was funnier than him dating Jessica Simpson. If someone says the words ?Hannah Montana fan?, you would think of teenyboppers and little kids dressed up in blonde wigs. That?s why I?m pretty sure you wouldn?t believe me if I tell you that John Mayer is a Hannah Montana fan. But it?s no joke. The douche bag really is. The singer was seen at the Hannah Montana concert in Las Vegas on Saturday night. If I was there, I would have laughed to his face. And I mean, rolling-over-the-floor-laughter. I wouldn?t care if he was just taking one of his nieces or whoever to the show. The point is, he was there!
John Mayer may be a douche bag but you can?t deny that he?s really good. The cocky singer just uploaded a new video to his YouTube account and the video is phenomenal. He grabbed his signature instrument, the guitar, and did his own interpretations of Justin Timberlake?s ?I Think She Knows/Lovestoned Interlude?. It?s really amazing. He was able to use his guitar for both rhythm and bass simultaneously.
But if you know of John?s background, it shouldn?t be surprising. He is classically trained on guitar after all. He?s bound to know all the tricks of the trade that makes us go ?wow?.
John Mayer is off on another one of his now infamous rants on his blog. He has entitled his most recent one ?Death to Douchebag? and hints to more rants of the same subject with a subtitle of ?1 of a 129-part series?. Shoot me, we actually have lots more to look forward to. It?s an interesting read really.

John?s latest song ?Say? from the soundtrack off ?The Bucket List? has sold over 39,700 downloads to date. The song is about saying out loud what you feel in your heart. On his official blog, John says that the video is a ?Sunset live performance for the upcoming DVD.?
John also had his solo acoustic First Annual Holiday Charity Revue on Saturday. He was pretty funny when he began the acoustic set saying ?It?s a real honor to be opening for myself. I ran into myself backstage and I was very nice ? and, I mean, I?m huge!?
People have been saying that John Mayer is a douche, he?s too into himself, he is mighty ugly especially when he goes on stage and whatnot but no one can deny that he makes some really pretty songs. And you have to love pretty songs.John recently wrote a tune for the upcoming Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman flick ?The Bucket List? and it?s called ?Say?. It?s a great love song to add to his collection and it even features a full string section.
He may come off as a wannabe rocker but John also happens to be a sensitive musician.
