“Glee” actor Cory Monteith is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Parade magazine, which is out this Sunday. The 29-year old star told the magazine that by the age of 13, he was skipping school to drink and do drugs. Cory went to rehab at the age of 19 and was given an ultimatum by his family to get clean or be sent to jail. Cory said “I was done fighting myself. I finally said, ‘I’m gonna start looking at my life and figure out why I’m doing this.’ I don’t want kids to think it’s okay to drop out of school and get high, and they’ll be famous actors, too. But for those people who might give up: Get real about what you want and go after it. If I can, anyone can.”

Adam Anders, the executive music producer for “Glee”, has been successful in co-producing over 100 Billboard Hot 100 hits for the hit TV show. Now, he’s looking to capitalize on his success by making his own record label. Adam is currently working on albums by Zac Poor and Ben Burgess, and his first release will be the self-titled debut album of Disney star Shane Harper. When talking about the direction his record label will take, Adam said “I don’t believe in putting out a single and then if it doesn’t hit, drop the artist. We are here to develop artists — there is no timetable to getting it right.” I agree! I think that’s exactly what the music industry needs, a nurturing environment.

Amber Riley recently took to her webcam to cover Adele’s new single “Someone Like You”. The “Glee” actress also took to her Twitter to express her thoughts on the British singer and her song, saying “I don’t care who sings it, NO ONE can sing an Adele song like ADELE, she is perfect but I’m glad you guys liked my version too….” Amber isn’t the only “Glee” star to cover the likes of Adele though. Last night’s episode of the hit TV show saw Gwyneth Paltrow take on “Turning Tables”. Both of them did stellar jobs on their covers but I agree with Amber, no one can sing an Adele song like Adele.Check the Season 2 Episode 17 of Glee episode titled “Night of Neglect.”

Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl has decided to jump on the anti-“Glee” train while promoting his band’s new documentary “Back and Forth” at the SXSW festival. The rock star said “It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do fucking Glee. And then the guy who created Glee is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his fucking show… fuck that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do Glee. I watched 10 minutes. It’s not my thing. The Glee guy, what a fucking jerk. Slash was the first one. He wanted to do Guns ‘n’ Roses and Slash is like, ‘I hate fucking musicals. It’s worse than Grease.’ Then [Murphy's] like, ‘Well, of course he’d say that, he’s a washed up old’ rock star, that’s what they fucking do.’ And then Kings of Leon say, ‘No, we don’t want to be on your show.’ And then he’s like, ‘Snotty little assholes…’ And it’s just like, Dude, maybe not everyone loves Glee. Me included.” To each their own I guess. It’s their music after all.
This is one big historic week on the Billboard charts. As of this week, the cast of “Glee” has placed an astounding 113 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 song chart. In the two and a half years that the hit TV show has been making amazing remakes, they have already bested Elvis Presley’s record of 108 for most charted songs by an act in the list’s 52 years. With the show seeming to not have any end coming soon, you can be sure that those numbers are still going to rise. As for this week’s charts, the show bested their own record by charting nine songs in a week, including Lea Michele’s rendition of Katy Perry’s “Firework”. Congratulations to “Glee”!

Jane Lynch wants Elton John to star in Glee as her love interest. Her co-star Matthew Morrison put forward the suggestion and Jane said she would be ‘all over it’. She told People, “I love that idea, and I’m all over that idea. From [Morrison's] lips to [executive producer] Ryan Murphy’s ears!” She added that her hard-nosed character Sue Sylvester would be a perfect match for Elton. “Someone Saved My Life Tonight is probably her favourite ballad, so I don’t think he would have any problem,” she added.
Fox really wants all “Glee” fans to watch the Super Bowl this year as it has recently been announced that actress Lea Michele will be singing “America the Beautiful” during the pre-game festivities of this year’s big event. Following the TV star’s lead will be pop singer Christina Aguilera who will sing the National Anthem. It sounds like a diva off to me. I wonder whose set of pipes will grab the hearts of the nation more. I think it’s a pretty tough call but if Christina messes up, she’s going to live with it for the rest of her life.
Cory Monteith recently went on Twitter to share a picture of Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams on the set of Glee which had many wondering if the rock star was going to be on the show. However, Hayley said that she was only on set to visit and not film a cameo. When sources asked about her visit, Hayley said A few of the cast members had reached out to me over Twitter a while back. They all seemed really cool and down to earth, so when Cory invited us to come and see the set I was stoked. We don’t do a whole lot of TV appearances and their world is a lot different than what we’re used to. I just had a good time seeing everyone in their element.
Four songs were covered on this weeks episode of Glee. Jane Lynch and guest star Carol Burnett made a harmony of Ohio from the 1953 musical Wonderful Town. Two Bruno Mars songs were also featured, namely Just the Way You Are and Marry You. Matthew Morrison also sang the Pablo Beltran Ruiz song Sway, as covered by Michael Buble as well as the Pussycat Dolls. All of the songs were released as singles and available for digital download but Ohio is not featured in the album Glee: The Music, Volume 4. If it wasnt for the Bruno Mars songs, the songs on this weeks episodes would have been graded with a B-, but since the R&B hits are there, I give it an A.

Cee Lo Green was recently asked what he thought of Gwyneth Paltrows cover of his song Fk You, which will appear on Glee this week. The soul singer said I must say hearing this song sung by Gwyneth Paltrow, an Academy Award winner, is a timeless flattery I wont soon forget. Are you excited to see Gwyneth sing Cee Los song on Glee? Watch for it tonight. Im hoping for another epic episode like last week and not just another stunt episode. I think Ive had enough of those already. Heres to hoping for a great plot and a great episode.
Glee (Gwyneth Paltrow) – Forget You
Sources are saying that Glee producers are rethinking their initial plan to do a tribute episode following the Super Bowl this year. It has been reported that the hit FOX TV series was considering an homage to either Bruce Springsteen or Michael Jackson, but now, Ryan Murphy and others are leaning towards a regular episode. There are good things and bad things to the strategy but I kind of agree with having a regular episode instead of getting another stunt one. I say get back to basics and remind everyone why we fell in love with this show. We all love Madonna and The Boss and that wouldnt change. Lets remember why we love Rachel, Finn, Kurt and friends.
Ryan Murphys people went to ask Kings of Leon if they could use one of their songs on the hit TV show Glee. While the show is a huge hit, the band claims that theyve never watched it nor heard of it before so they decided to turn down the offer based off of nothing more than their ignorance. Months later, they are still talking about the offer with guitarist Matthew Followill recently saying Everyone took it so seriously when we said no to Glee because it’s everyone’s favorite show. But we just had never really seen the show, we didn’t know what it’s about. They just said, ‘Hey, do you want your music to be on Glee,’ and we said, ‘No, I don’t think so. We don’t want to.’ I think the question now is if they want to do it if they get asked again.
Well, it wasnt exactly Halloween they were aiming for, but given their choice as the main focus of their latest episode and the time of year, there definitely is a connection there. Apparently The Rocky Horror Glee Show wasnt as much of a hit as probably most of the fans wouldve expected it given the extra week of waiting for it. Still, it did get some good reviews but also a some bad ones. Todd VanDerWerff from The A. V. Club apparently gave the episode an F and called it “the worst hour this show has ever produced” so hes probably the authority to trust on this one. But then again, Glee probably got better ratings this time around due to the prolonged way so, all in all, they probably did their job at least for the week.
The Parents Television Council has chosen to pick on Glee and Britney Spears by labeling the TV series tribute episode to the pop singer as the worst show of the week. Their website criticizes the show for making a tribute to Britney who they deem to be a toxic teen role model. They continue on to say Perhaps most troubling is the deification of a troubled pop star into a symbol of empowerment and self-esteem. Considering her stints in rehab, her very public breakdowns and her questionable parenting skills, there is absolutely no way Spears should be considered a role model. The producers of the show can spare us the old song-and-dance about fallen celebs turning their lives around. Could they be any more narrow-minded?
The stars of hit TV show Glee are glum over the show’s smash hit soundtrack. For the singing high school stars claim they have been short changed by Sony Music over royalties from the No. 1 album Glee: The Music ” Journey to the Regionals. More than a million of the albums have been sold to fans but stars such as Corey Monteith and Mark Salling are grumbling they have received minimal payments from it. “I got 400 bucks from it going No. 1,” Monteith told a Washington D.C. radio show. Many of the stars are now choosing to sign with different record labels for their solo projects, including Salling and Matthew Morrison. “The Glee cast is furious because they feel they were misled by Sony,” an insider told the New York Post. “They have all complained to executive producer Ryan Murphy that they want a bigger share of the royalties. “Sony should have known better ” they kept their hands on money that could have been paid to the cast. “But by upsetting the biggest talent on TV, the label is cutting its nose off to spite its face. It is myopic, short-term thinking on their part.” Reps for Sony and Fox did not comment.
Lea Michele recently had an interview where she got to talk about makeup, her stand out moment on Glee and who would be a perfect addition to the hit Fox TV series. The actress said Justin Timberlake would be the perfect Glee guest star: He sings, he dances, and hes hilarious. Producers are said to be saving the singers appearance and music for the much-anticipated Super Bowl episode. Lea also mentions how singing Dont Rain on My Parade was her best moment on the show because its her favorite song and felt that it was a dream come true to get the chance to perform it.
The creator of Glee has revealed it was Britney Spears’ idea to make a guest appearance on the show.
Ryan Murphy said: “It’s a tribute to her and her music. It was her idea to come on and do a couple of fun ‘Where’s Waldo?’ moments – but instead of ‘Where’s Waldo?’ it’s ‘Where’s Britney?’ That was her idea.”
“I think Britney is going to be on the show, yes,” he told Access Hollywood.
“The episode is a tribute to her pop culture phenomenon over the past 10 years and her music. It’s very reverential. It’s full of love and admiration.”
Murphy also admitted he is keen to get teen heartthrob Justin Bieber on the show.
Glee fans excited about the upcoming Britney Spears-themed episode of the hit show won’t be kept in suspense for too long.
Series creator Ryan Murphy has just revealed the Britney episode will be the second one to air next season.
Murphy also dished that New Directions’ own Brittany, played by Heather Morris, would be at the centre of the tribute to the Toxic singer.
“Heather’s actually got a terrific voice,” Murphy told TV Guide, adding that Morris would be performing two of Spears’ numbers.
“I heard there’s a Britney Spears episode coming up and fingers crossed that I get to sing, because I play Brittany and I’m like ‘Oh my god, it’s insane’,” Morris told E! Online last month.
Katy Perry is apparently a big fan of Glee and she is asking fans to start a Facebook campaign to get her on the hit FOX TV series. When asked about her feelings for the show, the pop singer said Please! I would love somebody to start that Facebook group and persuade them. I would absolutely love that. Even her fianc Russell Brand thinks that Katy would do great on the show, adding that she is a brilliant actress. With so many other celebrities getting linked to the show like Leona Lewis, Victoria Beckham and Justin Timberlake, I think Katy will be a great addition too.
Fox has given the green light to a third series of Glee.
Entertainment Weekly reports series creator Ryan Murphy commenting: It’s been a whirlwind year – from shooting the pilot to performing at the White House to the concert tour that began last week.
We think our Gleeks worldwide are going to love what we’ll have in store for them in seasons two and three.
The hit musical show has featured celebrity guest-stars including Olivia Newton-John and Neil Patrick Harris and won a number of awards including a Peabody, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild award.
Glee actress Lea Michele was this year named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential
Singing sensation Susan Boyle has been approached to guest star on Glee.
The co-creator of the hit show, Ryan Murphy, has revealed what role he would like the Britain’s Got Talent star to play: I have two words for you: Lunch. Lady.
He told Entertainment Weekly: I think Kurt would just die to give her a Christmas makeover. I don’t even know if she’s interested but it’s been pitched.
Other celebrities who’ve appeared on the show include Neil Patrick Harris and Olivia Newton-John.
Murphy also said there were plans for a Christmas album.
Ryan Murphy has just confirmed that the producers of Glee will be doing a sequel to their smash hit episode The Power of Madonna. And guess what? They might even get the Queen of Pop to make an appearance! Ryan said I cant say. But shes sort of the muse of our show. She loves the show and has supported it. She gets that the show is about arts education and so shes very supportive about that. I cant wait for it! I wonder what Madonna songs the cast would sing this time around. And of course Im expecting another album from them.
Actor Matthew Morrison, who plays teacher Will Schuester on the hit TV show Glee, just doesn’t “get this [Justin] Bieber thing”.
Speaking at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Glee panel, Morrison admitted: “I really don’t get it. I hear he was in Australia and they kicked him out because he started a riot,? E Online reports.
He was responding to a question suggesting the hit show should feature the music of the Baby singer.
But the Canadian superstar does have a fan in Cory Monteith who plays football hunk Finn on the show. “I think it would be fun,” said Monteith.
“What’s wrong with a little Bieb? Everyone needs to be a little infected by the Biebonic plague.”
It looks like the cast of ?Glee? is going to rock n roll! While on set in Long Beach, California last Friday afternoon, the guys personified the heavy metal band KISS. Cory Monteith took on bassist Gene Simmons, Mark Salling was rhythm guitarist Paul Stanley and Kevin McHale played lead guitarist Tommy Thayer. There?s no word on who played percussionist Eric Singer though. I wonder what songs they will be doing or if that was all just costume for something else. It should be interesting to also note that the girls seem to be rocking some 50s style costumes the same day. I wonder what they?re songs would be.
It would probably sure help his career and his image a bit since all you hear about Justin Timberlake lately is that he parties hard in Las Vegas. It looks like the singer might actually make an appearance on the second season of the already popular series. Ryan Murphy, Glee?s creator, said the following on the matter: “Justin is the one the kids jump up and down about every day and beg me to meet with him. I’m a huge fan of his music. I think he’s so talented. And he’s a true triple threat: He can sing, dance, and act. So yeah, we’d love to have him on. We start shooting the second season in July and I think I will work some magic around that time for him if I can.” The way he describes him, Justin Timberlake is perfect for the series? they might actually consider making him a permanent member. It?s not like he?s doing anything else.
Some time ago, the stars of ?Glee? went on Twitter to relay news that they would be going out on tour. It?s been a while since any more details came out regarding it but I finally have them for you. The actors and singers of the hit show will be making stops in four cities for a series of shows to perform some of their biggest hits like ?Don?t Stop Believin? and ?Somebody to Love?. The cast will stop in Phoenix, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. The list of dates is as follows: Phoenix on May 18, Los Angeles on May 20 and 21, Chicago on May 25 and 26 and New York on May 28 and 29.
Josh Groban made a memorable, albeit brief, appearance on ?Glee? this season, but according to the singer, we haven?t seen the last of him on the musical TV show. Josh has confirmed that he will be returning to the series before the season is out, saying ?I think I?m going to come back and do one more episode. And we?ll see what happens.? He admits that he?s eager to return because he loves to do comedy and he loved working with the cast, sharing ?I had a great time with that cast, coming from a theater background. It?s so nice to see so many theater actors being hired for mainstream television. And also, being a member of the choir club as a kid, just to see that group of people being represented in mainstream culture is really, really so great.?
Supposedly after the first season wraps up, a ?Glee? music tour could very well be underway come the spring of 2010. Talks for such a tour are still in the early stages and nothing is 100 percent confirmed as of yet. However, I think that it?s a genius idea! The show has been doing amazingly on iTunes, selling tracks from aired episodes and the first soundtrack, which goes on sale on November 3, will probably sell like hotcakes. Fox Broadcasting president Kevin Reilly has coyly suggested the future of a tour saying ?Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There’s lots of things that could happen.?
