Beastie Boy Beats Cancer

I was really upset to find out last year that Beastie Boys rapper Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch was diagnosed with salivary gland tumor but I’m happy to report that he is now on his way to making a full recovery. Now that he’s well, the band is ready to start working on their new album ‘Hot Sauce Committee, Part 1’, which was postponed indefinitely after Adam’s diagnosis. Adam said “I feel better. It was touch and go there for a while, but I am finally getting my energy back. It was really disappointing to have to hold the record and postpone the tour, but doctor’s orders. We may or may not [release the album] depending on how my health is come September. We want to but we have to play it by ear… We finished the record over a year ago, so we want to take a look at it and re-evaluate and make sure it is what we want to put out there and that we are still happy with it. I don’t think we will change it up too much.”

Jonas Brothers to perform free church concert

Teen heartthrobs The Jonas Brothers are performing a free concert – for a church that helped launch their career.

The band will play the gig in Orange County in southern California on April 4 at 10am.

The boys are helping to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Saddleback Church and will perform at Angel Stadium in Anaheim as part of the church’s special birthday celebration.

A church member exclusively told RadarOnline.com: “They used to perform here when they were just getting started, and of course they were fantastic. We’ve had all sorts of great musicians play on our stage, even Michael Jackson. He used to come by way back in the Thriller days.”

Glee on Tour

Some time ago, the stars of ‘Glee’ went on Twitter to relay news that they would be going out on tour. It’s been a while since any more details came out regarding it but I finally have them for you. The actors and singers of the hit show will be making stops in four cities for a series of shows to perform some of their biggest hits like ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ and ‘Somebody to Love’. The cast will stop in Phoenix, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. The list of dates is as follows: Phoenix on May 18, Los Angeles on May 20 and 21, Chicago on May 25 and 26 and New York on May 28 and 29.

Prince Lawsuit

Prince is facing a $2.3 million lawsuit after cancelling a concert in Dublin, Ireland back in June 2008. The singer pulled out of the show just 10 days before and promotions company MCD is seeking for some compensation. Prince is blaming his agents at William Morris Endeavor for booking the event without permission but MCD is saying that the icon gave no reason of substance for the cancellation. William Morris returned the $1.5 million booking fee that MCD paid after the cancellation but MCD also paid $949,760 to use the Croke Park location in Dublin. MCD is seeking compensation for financial loss and damage to commercial reputation.

Whitney Houston Sucks

Crack is whack and now we know why. After a concert in Australia on Monday, fans walked out of Whitney Houston’s concert early declaring it a disappointment. It’s being rumored that the singer is in fragile health and although her reps deny the claims, there’s no arguing that she isn’t what she used to be. The former diva only sang two songs before she exited the stage to take a break. She appeared out of breath, coughed through songs and when she returned to sing through six more numbers, she handed the mic over to her brother Gary to sing. A concertgoer said “She was not fit to perform. She seemed to be on another planet, and the concert was laughable. When the back up singer’s performance is the stand out for the night you know something is wrong.”

New Taylor Swift Video

Taylor Swift’s latest music video for her song ‘Fearless’ has finally come out. The 20-year old Grammy award winning singer gave viewers a chance to see footage from both backstage and from her actually shows from all over the world. The country cutie also talked about her song saying “When I wrote ‘Fearless,’ I wasn’t dating anyone. I wasn’t even in the beginning stages of dating anybody. I really was all by myself out on tour and I got this idea for a song about the best first date. I think sometimes when you’re writing love songs, you don’t write them about what you’re going through at the moment, you write about what you wish you had. So, this song is about the best first date I haven’t had yet.”

Concert Goes Out of Control

This past Tuesday’s free Alexisonfire concert at Yaletown LiveCity surrounding the Olympics in Vancouver came to a halt after fans knocked over a barricade bordering the stage. 9 people were taken to the hospital and 20 were injured in the incident. On concertgoer suffered a compound leg fracture while fans pushed forward and knocked the fence over. The band had only been playing for 10 seconds when the riot took place. Guitarist and singer Wade MacNeil said “We were all so excited that you completely decimated the whole barrier. The reality of the situation is that it’s completely destroyed and it’s really dangerous and there’s an incredible amount of sharp objects up here and a lot of people got hurt when that happened.” The show was cancelled but reports are saying that another gig will take place to make up for it.

Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher set for first solo shows

Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher will play his first solo shows next month since leaving the hit band.

Gallagher, 42, will play two charity gigs for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall in London on March 25 and 26.

Also on the bill for the two gigs include the Arctic Monkeys, The Specials, Depeche Mode and JLS.

Oasis split last year after Noel walked out saying he could no longer work with his brother Liam.

It is not yet known whether or not Gallagher will be singing any unseen tracks during the shows.

The Killers cancel Asian tour

It seems the band has suddenly cancelled their Asian tour without any real explanations. There is only a very straightforward statement of The Killers’ official site that reads as follows: “The Killers have been forced to cancel their appearances in Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo and Seoul due to unforeseen circumstances. The band deeply apologizes to their fans and hope to reschedule their shows in these cities soon. At this time the bands Australian appearances remain scheduled as planned.” Maybe the band found out something they didn’t like about the cities they were supposed to visit? Or maybe The Killers don’t think that videotaping any of their Asian appearances is worth a DVD so why go there anyway. “Unforeseen circumstances” can mean so many things.

Weezer is Back

Weezer’s tour was put on hiatus after lead singer Rivers Cuomo got injured in a tour bus accident that left him with a punctured lung. The singer recently took to his Twitter to let everyone know that he was coming back. He said “Doctor says my lung is all healed – cleared to fly to Florida for the show. Turns out I broke 5 ribs!!! RC.” Rivers was spotted limping around LAX to make his flight to Florida. He and the rest of the band have kicked their tour back in gear after having played at the Florida State University on Wednesday night.

Britney Spears’s rough transition back home

Britney Spears has faced a difficult transition after spending a year away from the US on tour.

The divorced mother of two is reportedly spending a lot of time at the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles, just a short drive from her home.

Spears’s mega-world tour was clouded by accusations of shrifting ticketholders in Australia with a lip-synched show. But the singer was playing in the immediate wake of a marathon tour by Pink, who had the heart of the nation behind her.

Spears takes her young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to stay at the hotel for days at a time, according to the Sun newspaper.

A source said: “She’s no reason to be here. Last time she had staff running around after her kids as they both caught flu and she had no medicine for them. She uses the gym, is waited on and she uses the babysitting service.”

The hotel with its cocoon of luxury and staff may fill in lonely gaps for Spears and provide a transition for her boys, who were often in different countries with her.

Kid Cudi Assaults Fan

I thought stoners were typically peaceful and non-violent but that was thrown out the window when a concertgoer threw a wallet at Kid Cudi during the rapper’s concert at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver this past Friday night. The rapper then hopped off of the stage and threw a punch over the barricade – at the wrong person! Oops! I believe that it’s about time for someone to get a lawyer and set things right. Of all the things to throw, why a wallet? Unless it doesn’t have any cash in it and no identification, the guy who threw it is absolutely stupid.

Mariah Carey on Tour

If you’re like me and thinks that a crappy album would inevitably equal a crappy tour then you better brace yourself because Mariah Carey is going to be hitting the road. The Angeles Cry tour is expected to make its way around the US next year with the pop singer still shamelessly promoting her horrific album ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’. Mariah even threw her husband Nick Cannon a bone as the curvaceous diva agreed t let RydazNrtist, who are signed to Nick’s NCredible Entertainment, open the shows. I don’t think this is going to be a disaster – I know for a fact that it will.

Busta Rhymes Pays Up

Rapper Busta Rhymes has just been ordered to pay $75,000 to concertgoer Alex Duncan after throwing water bottles at him. Alex went to a 2003 concert to see rapper Fabolous who didn’t show up to the show. He then went to leave once Busta came on stage which caught the has-been’s attention. He and Alex then got into some sort of argument. Busta got mad and yelled “I’m not good for you?” and then threw the water bottles at the 32-year old. Alex claims that he suffered psychological damages and even has nightmares because of the attack. Busta ended up having to pay up after the rapper failed to show up to any of the 7 court hearings.

Rihanna to Tour

Rihanna appeared on the UK reality competition series X Factor this past Sunday night to belt out her latest single ‘Russian Roulette’. On the show, the 21-year old Barbadian singer also shared that she will be going on tour in Spring 2010 and that tickets will be going on sale in just over a week. That’s definitely some exciting news! And it seems that Rihanna herself is excited about the whole thing as she said “I can’t wait to come back here.” I’m sure all of her fans all over Europe are pretty excited about her coming back to wow everyone with her performances.

Miley Cyrus Tour Bus Crashes

One of Miley Cyrus’ tour buses was part of a deadly crash that took place on Friday about 45 minutes south of Richmond, Virginia. The buses were on the way to Greensboro, North Carolina for a show this past Sunday when one of the 4 vehicles in the singer’s convoy drifted off the road and overturned. One person, the bus driver, died, while 9 others sustained minor injuries. State police said that the roads were wet from rain the night before but were not to blame for the crash. An investigation went on to determine why the bus drifted. Early reports are saying that the driver suffered a cardiac arrest while driving. Mind you, Miley’s concert in North Carolina went on as planned.

Robbie Williams Bails on Tours

Robbie Williams has decided that he will no longer have any concert tours because of the terrible side effects he has endured because of them. The singer admits that he ends up in rehab or fat after every tour so now, he’s scrapping it altogether. Here’s a crazy idea – maybe you could use some of your millions to hire a touring trainer and actually pay attention long enough in rehab so you won’t have to go back. That way, you can avoid all these issues and be able to keep your career afloat. That’s just a thought though. But if he’s hell bent on not touring anymore, at the very least, there’s less chance for us to hear him botch his own songs.

Rihanna Rocks London

Rihanna rocked the house at the launch party for the Nokia X6 in London. Her concert was also broadcast online by Nokia on Monday. The 20-year old Barbadian singer previewed songs from her upcoming album ‘Rated R’, including ‘Mad House’, ‘Wait Your Turn’, ‘Russian Roulette’ and ‘Hard’ with special guest Young Jeezy. The beautiful pop star also played her past hits, including ‘Disturbia’, ‘Take a Bow’ and ‘Live Your Life’ mixed with ‘Run This Town’, when Jay-Z came out as a surprise. The crowd went wild at that. Rihanna’s album will hit the stores this Monday, November 23. Will you be buying it?

Fan Rushes Jonas Brothers Concert

A rabid male fan crashed the stage at a Jonas Brothers concert this past weekend in Madrid. I never knew they actually had male fans, but anyway. Unlike Britney Spears who infamously screamed when the same thing happened to her at one of her gigs, the band of cuties just kept on playing. It was a pretty hilarious sight. The guys were still playing and singing their little hearts out while the fan was running around in circles trying to get away from security and ripping his shirt off. There’s yet another story that they can tell the grandkids – not!

Britney Spears Angers Fans

Britney Spears reportedly hit out in her hotel room this past weekend after she angered her fans at her concert the past week for lip synching. The fact that they expected her to sing live considering who she was is beyond me. All of Australia rallied against the pop singer upon landing in the country last week, criticizing her for charging loads of money for a concert that wasn’t live. And yet they still went to the show. Where’s the logic in the whole thing? If they didn’t like the fact that she doesn’t sing live, they shouldn’t have bought tickets. It’s not like she’s known for singing live.
