Malaysia tried hard but Avril Lavigne still exists. Despite the many attempts to shut down the Canadian singer’s inappropriate concert, the show still went on. As for Avril, she got an even bigger head from the ordeal saying “Well, I’ve actually been approved by the government to play a show. I’ve already sold 10,000 tickets there, so I will be going to put on a concert for the fans.” She’s not letting go of those 10,000 tickets sold over there because she can’t sell that much for a whole tour over in the US. She adds “They tend to, you know, sometimes not want Western artists in their country. I respect that, but at the same time, you know, there’s people that listen to music there and want to see their idols and stuff, so it’s all good: been approved by the government and [I'm] going to go put on a show and have fun.” Since when was she an idol?
Someone had a lust for Iggy Pop’s loot as a rental truck that was carrying the musician’s stuff got jacked after a Montreal concert. Thieves reportedly made off with tens of thousands worth of instruments and stage gear that belonged to Iggy and his band the Stooges. According to the Detroit Free Press, one of the instruments was a priceless bass guitar that was destined to be part of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Having their stuff stolen didn’t stop the band from playing their next gig in Toronto just a day after the incident using rented and donated equipment.
SafetySuit checks in again from the road, and this time it’s from the cliffs of Yosemite National Park. Watch the band as they update fans on their current tour with Seether and their success at radio with “Someone Like You.” Check out SafetySuit’s Myspace page for tour dates and more.
While Lenny Kravitz was taking in the sights, several tourists were taking a sight of him. The rocker kept his cool in a tank top while strolling through the streets of Florence, Italy this past weekend. The singer is currently on tour in Europe. That day was probably one of his days off. Lenny was seen being snap happy by taking a lot of pictures and even spent over an hour at a local wine store. It sounds like someone had a fun time. Then again, it’s Lenny Kravitz. The only time he may not be having fun is when he’s thrown in a big controversy.
