Robbie Williams has decided that he will no longer have any concert tours because of the terrible side effects he has endured because of them. The singer admits that he ends up in rehab or fat after every tour so now, he’s scrapping it altogether. Here’s a crazy idea – maybe you could use some of your millions to hire a touring trainer and actually pay attention long enough in rehab so you won’t have to go back. That way, you can avoid all these issues and be able to keep your career afloat. That’s just a thought though. But if he’s hell bent on not touring anymore, at the very least, there’s less chance for us to hear him botch his own songs.
Rihanna rocked the house at the launch party for the Nokia X6 in London. Her concert was also broadcast online by Nokia on Monday. The 20-year old Barbadian singer previewed songs from her upcoming album ‘Rated R’, including ‘Mad House’, ‘Wait Your Turn’, ‘Russian Roulette’ and ‘Hard’ with special guest Young Jeezy. The beautiful pop star also played her past hits, including ‘Disturbia’, ‘Take a Bow’ and ‘Live Your Life’ mixed with ‘Run This Town’, when Jay-Z came out as a surprise. The crowd went wild at that. Rihanna’s album will hit the stores this Monday, November 23. Will you be buying it?
A rabid male fan crashed the stage at a Jonas Brothers concert this past weekend in Madrid. I never knew they actually had male fans, but anyway. Unlike Britney Spears who infamously screamed when the same thing happened to her at one of her gigs, the band of cuties just kept on playing. It was a pretty hilarious sight. The guys were still playing and singing their little hearts out while the fan was running around in circles trying to get away from security and ripping his shirt off. There’s yet another story that they can tell the grandkids – not!
Britney Spears reportedly hit out in her hotel room this past weekend after she angered her fans at her concert the past week for lip synching. The fact that they expected her to sing live considering who she was is beyond me. All of Australia rallied against the pop singer upon landing in the country last week, criticizing her for charging loads of money for a concert that wasn’t live. And yet they still went to the show. Where’s the logic in the whole thing? If they didn’t like the fact that she doesn’t sing live, they shouldn’t have bought tickets. It’s not like she’s known for singing live.
If you missed watching U2’s live concert on YouTube, there’s another chance for you to see them for free in Berlin. Bono and the rest of the band will be belting out their music at no cost on November 5th to celebrate the 20 years since the falling of the Berlin Wall, which ended separation between east and west Germany. I thought that they were looking to get some profits off of their concerts. Why the heck to they keep doing free gigs? Oh well, it’s not like they need the money anyway. I’m sure a lot of their fans are enjoying all the freebies.
California, US: U2 have confirmed via video blog that their sold-out concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California, Sunday 25th October 2009 will be streamed free, in full and live on YouTube. It’s the first time a show of this size will be streamed live.
The Rose Bowl show is the penultimate U2 show this year – with more to come in 2010 – and already is set to host the venue’s biggest ever audience of over 96, 000 fans. The 360˚ Tour, which has been critically acclaimed and “re-invents rock’n’roll”*, will now boast unique access for fans worldwide – as fans in territories yet to be visited by the tour, or not at all, will be able to enjoy the whole show online. Supposedly after the first season wraps up, a ‘Glee’ music tour could very well be underway come the spring of 2010. Talks for such a tour are still in the early stages and nothing is 100 percent confirmed as of yet. However, I think that it’s a genius idea! The show has been doing amazingly on iTunes, selling tracks from aired episodes and the first soundtrack, which goes on sale on November 3, will probably sell like hotcakes. Fox Broadcasting president Kevin Reilly has coyly suggested the future of a tour saying “Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There’s lots of things that could happen.”
The Princess of Pop Lady Gaga has announced that eight completely new tracks will be featured on the re-released of her hit debut album ‘The Fame’. The singer’s new songs were inspired by the effects of her massive success over the past year and wrote the new tracks while she was on tour all over the world. She said “On my re-release ‘The Fame Monster’, I wrote about everything I didn’t write on ‘The Fame’. While travelling the world for two years, I’ve encountered several monsters, each represented by a different song on the new record…I spent a lot of nights in Eastern Europe, and this album is a pop experimentation with industrial/Goth beats, 90’s dance melodies, an obsession with the lyrical genius of 80’s melancholic pop, and the runway…I also composed a ballad for the album, ‘Speechless,’ a song for my father, and it’s my favorite work of all. I wrote every piece on the road – no songs about money, no songs about fame. I wrote it for my fans, so I wrote everything in between.” ‘The Fame Monster’ drops on November 24th.

U2 Announces European Tour Dates for 2010
In the midst of the North American leg of their 360° Tour, U2 has announced their fall 2010 European Tour dates. The 12-stop tour will hit Germany, Denmark, Finland, Russia, Austria, Greece, Turkey, France, Spain, and Portugal. Tickets for many of the shows went on sale as early as this week, with more presales scheduled for October 5th-7th. Visit U2.com for all the information.

The 27-year old singer met a lucky fan at her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to give him a free ticket to her concert at the Staples Center. Where was I when this happened? In other Britney news, the pop star just announced that she will celebrate her 10 years in the music industry by releasing ‘The Singles Collection’ on November 24, as well as a new single called ‘3’ which went to radio just yesterday. Pop-rockers Honor Society debuted at #18 on the Billboard Top 200 this week, moving over 22,000 units of their debut album, Fashionably Late. The band kicked off their second headlining tour on Monday, September 21 in Minneapolis, MN and will continue a run of nearly 40 dates with shows across the United States and Canada including an appearance on The Today Show on Friday, September 25.
The release of Fashionably Late caps off a busy summer for Honor Society as they joined the Jonas Brothers on their World Tour 2009 performing to nearly 1 million fans throughout North America. The fact that her movie just got pushed back doesn’t seem to have any effect on Miley Cyrus as she continues to live large. After her concert at the Staples Center on Tuesday night, sources say that the singer showed up at the newly opened Katsuya LA live with an entourage of 100 people. The Disney star wanted a little privacy for her group so she bought out the restaurant for the night. Miley danced the night away while sipping on Katsuya’s Watermelon Elixir. It’s not an alcoholic beverage but let’s be honest – if she wanted one, she could have one.
The new single from Michael Jackson, entitled ‘This is It’, will be released posthumously on October 12th followed by a 2-disc album of the same name on October 27th. The album release will also coincide with the worldwide premiere of the film documenting the King of Pop’s preparation for his comeback tour. The first disc will feature the original album masters of the late singer’s greatest hits arranged in the same order as they appear in the film, ending with 2 versions of the new song. The second disc offers unreleased versions of Michael’s classic tracks, including a spoken word poem from Michael called ‘Planet Earth’. It also includes a 36-page commemorative booklet with exclusive pictures of his last rehearsal.

KSM Backstage At Jonas Brothers Concert
Beyonce’s concert in Malaysia will go ahead despite protests from an Islamic political party that her concerts were immoral and unclean.
In 2007, the bootilicious American sensation cancelled concerts in Malaysia for fears of protest. But the concert is set for October 25 at the Bukit Jalil national stadium despite the objections of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic party [PAS].
Beyonce Knowles’s tour organiser announced the concert would go ahead on its website but could not be reached for comment.
The PAS party called for Danish band Michael Learns To Rock to be banned from performing earlier this month on the basis of Muslim fasting during Ramadan. But the group went ahead and performed without incident.
PAS remained opposed to Beyonce, telling a wire service on Sunday: “We oppose the holding of such concerts and we will take action to prevent such a concert from taking place in Malaysia. This performance is not suitable for Muslims as her skimpy attire and behaviour onstage are immoral and lead to unclean behaviour.”
