Chris Brown is going to debut his first music video for ‘I Can Transform Ya’ since that whole Rihanna assault earlier this year. The video was directed by Joseph Kahn and also features producer Swizz Beatz and rapper Lil Wayne. The 21-year old R&B singer wrote about making his comeback on his blog, saying “The expectations of me by people are far more greater than what I think I’m capable of. God give me strength. If I couldn’t dream, would I believe that there could be a you and me. And if I couldn’t sing would you be able to hear my melody.”
Two Los Angeles cops have been suspended over the leaking of the Rihanna photo where the singer looks battered and bruised after an altercation with her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
The notorious photo was leaked back in February and after an investigation was launched to find out who leaked it, two female officers have now been suspended.
The two police members face disciplinary action and might even be charged with identifying a victim of domestic violence if they are proven guilty.
TMZ.com reportedly paid US$62, 500 for the picture.
Chris Brown released a statement on Monday in hopes to clarify some of the statements he made on Larry King Live. The 20-year old R&B singer said “There have been reports on the internet that I didn’t remember what happened that night with Rihanna. I want to try and set things straight. That 30 seconds of the interview they used of me was taken from a one hour interview during which that same question was asked something like 4 or 5 times… Of course I remember what happened… But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am or is what happened like anything I have ever done before. As I have said several times previously, I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can’t. I take full responsibility for my actions.”
It has recently been reported that some “new” material from Chris Brown leaked onto the internet recently. The general belief is that the material in question is about the rapper’s recent events with his former girlfriend Rihanna. However, his record company says this is not the case as they released the following statement in regards to the so-called new Chris Brown tracks: “There are several old demos circulating that are being falsely promoted as new material from Chris.” It looks like somebody isn’t too happy about how the whole trial thing went for Chris Brown and is trying to bring a bit more to the sentence.
The Rihanna lookalike who was seen with Chris Brown at the 2009 NBA Finals is speaking out to make something clear – that she wasn’t part of any PR conspiracy. Teyana Taylor, a rapper on Pharell’s label, says she went to the game with Chris because they have been friends for a while and that he is like a bother to her. She also said that if people think that the R&B singer used her for a PR stunt, it’s the craziest this she’s ever heard. Teyana also talked about the comparison to Rihanna saying “I’ve always dressed like that. I’ve always had style … I’ve had that Mohawk now for months.”
Chris Brown paranoid over death threats:
The singer who’s actions against his former girlfriend seem to haunt him forever has recently been receiving death threats which have made him paranoid. The Chicago-Sun newspaper wrote this about Chris Brown’s predicament: “It seems the music star has been targeted with death threats the authorities believe are actually legit. Brown is said to be ‘totally paranoid’ about the threats on his life and has become obsessed with his security.” It seems that one or maybe a few of Rihanna’s more zealous fans want to give Chris Brown a bit of a chill down his spine. Apparently, it’s working… who knows, there may be new developments in the case as well after these little incidents.
He’s still got an assault charge against him but Chris Brown is already being sued by someone else. A photographer claims that the R&B singer was involved in a violent incident on a Los Angeles basketball court back in March. According to the lawsuit, the photographer claims it all went down just weeks after the Rihanna incident when he shot a photo of Chris playing ball with his friends. He then claimed that Chris’ bodyguards yelled at him so he tried to leave the gym but an LA Fitness employee blocked his escape. The photographer then fell down a stairwell which allowed the bodyguards to catch up with him where they “picked him up by his shorts and physically assaulted him.” He is suing Chris and LA Fitness for assault and battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and premises liability.
The singer has apparently written a song called “Silly Boy” which is most likely aimed at her former boyfriend Chris Brown. Some Rihanna’s lyrics for the song are as follows: “I said I’m not coming back / You fooled me once but you can’t have that ego turning. Just too bad for you, that when you had me / Didn’t know what to do, she’s over you. Cause you had a good girl, good girl / Girl that’s a keeper / You had a good girl, good girl but didn’t know how to treat her. So silly boy get out my face / Why do you like the way regrets taste?” Well, that’s one way to get over the whole assault thing. But still you have to wonder how much Rihanna can actually get to Chris Brown with a song like that… especially since the man is still facing jail time.
Singer Chris Brown is close to striking a plea deal, according to a new report.
Brown is facing two felony charges for allegedly beating his then girlfriend and singer Rihanna on February 8.
A new court hearing is scheduled for this week when the parties will set a date for Brown’s preliminary hearing.
He is charged with assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats.
However, Brown signed a waiver and is not expected to be in court for the hearing.
But sources close to the case have told Radaronline.com that ‘progress has been made’ on a plea deal.
Even so, that source insists there are still issues to be worked out and a deal is ‘close, but not imminent’.
The source added that barring a last-minute breakthrough it is unlikely a deal will be announced in court this week but both sides have moved closer together.
It is still uncertain what is preventing a deal from being closed by the District Attorney’s office and Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos.
If no deal is reached and the case progresses to the preliminary hearing stage, the case against Brown will be presented to a judge including evidence such as photographers taken of Umbrella singer Rihanna shortly after the alleged incident, showing her fact bruised and beaten.
E! Online was first to report that Chris Brown and Rihanna were in a Santa Monica studio earlier this month recording a duet with producer Polow Da Don in efforts to salvage Chris’ career. Other members of the media contacted the producer’s publicist and were told that, not only was the E! story true but also gave details on the behavior of Chris and Rihanna while recording. However, the publicist lied! The publicist is now backtracking saying that she was referring to a song that Rihanna recorded in the past and not a new duet with Chris. Right. They just made Rihanna look stupid with that big lie.
Who the heck came up with this stupid idea? It’s being reported that Chris Brown and Rihanna are in the midst of recording a duet for the alleged woman beater’s new album. There have been no confirmations of the duet from either of their camps but there is word that the Pussycat Dolls and Ludacris record producer, Polow Da Don, has been working diligently on the track with Rihanna and Chris in a Santa Monica studio for the past few days. I hope that this isn’t true. If it is, I only have one thing to ask. Why is Rihanna doing this?
The singer who was recently beaten half to death by her boyfriend Chris Brown is slowly getting back to making music. Rihanna’s producer had this to say about her getting back in the studio: “She’s really just easing back into it. Just a couple of ideas here and there over the last couple of weeks. It’s coming out good. She’s really going in the same direction. She always brings her best efforts every time she steps into the stage or the studio. Her next album will eclipse what she’s done before, so it’s going to be hot.” Of course it’s going to be hot because now Rihanna has some new steamy experiences to sing about. But then again, if you sing about personal struggles or experiences the music doesn’t sell so why do it? Let Rihanna compose songs about the same old, pointless themes that have been plaguing pop music for what seems to be forever… and get big bucks for them.
Chris Brown’s team is apparently working on overdrive to salvage his sinking career. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chris and his alleged victim Rihanna are set to co-author a book about abuse and go on a talk show tour to speak directly to their fans and the general public. Other things on their things to do includes Chris Brown’s telling of his increasingly abusive behaviour toward Rihanna and partnering with clinical experts in the field to add credibility to their counselling efforts. A close source to Chris Brown’s camp said “Obviously this is a public relations campaign, but it only will work if there’s genuine healing, contrition and a path to preventing future problems. … It’s another example of trying to turn a bad situation into something good … where people can learn to change habits.”
Barely a month after Rihanna went home to her native Barbados to seek solace from her family and she is at is again. Rihanna’s father is worried that something is controlling his daughter. Ronald Fenty, Rihanna’s father, said he and the rest of the family could not get in touch with Rihanna right after her rumored reconciliation with boyfriend Chris Brown after she accused him of beating her last February 8.
Chris Brown, who met with Rihanna at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ $20 million home earlier this week, has been charged with two felonies of assault and criminal threats despite the rumored reconciliation. Ronald Fenty said he belies Rihanna is being forced to “not speak” with her family, including him, her mom, and even her brother. Somebody has a stranglehold on Rihanna, Robert Fenty said. They could not even call her on her old cellphone. Not even through her email as she has allegedly changed it also. Robert Fenty said Chris Brown is a little immature for her daughter but said he is in the hands of the court now.
I’m still shell shocked after finding out that Chris Brown and Rihanna reunited at Diddy’s house on Star Island in Miami. Why Rihanna, why? Close sources to the Barbadian singer said “It’s not easy to shut off a relationship she invested so much in.” It may not be easy but it’s very much possible. Why would she even dream of returning to an allegedly abusive relationship? Sources say that Rihanna arrived via private plane from Mexico to meet with Chris on the island where Chris has been seen “smiling, riding a jet ski, and flexing his arm muscles.” We’ve all seen what he can do with his muscles. Rihanna’s felt it.
Despite going through some tough times, Rihanna found enough strength to celebrate her 21st birthday by going to a movie with friends and partying the night away. A source told Life & Style “Rihanna, accompanied by some pals, first went to an early showing of Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea Goes to Jail’ in Santa Monica. She looked beautiful. She was wearing glasses, so you couldn’t see her eyes, but she looked fine to me.” After the movie, Rihanna went to the Hollywood Hills for a birthday party. “People were scrambling at her feet to make sure her every wish was granted. There was birthday cake, champagne, you name it! She was a bit shy at first and kept her glasses on most of the night. But once she saw her old crew and got used to being out, she really got into it. She was even dancing! You could tell she was happy to be out. She needed it.”
While we know that Chris Brown is in Virginia with his biological father, sources are saying that Rihanna is back home in Barbados. In times of crisis, I guess there’s no place better to go than back home to your family. Some information regarding Chris’ quick getaway from the incident site has also come to light. An insider says that Chris’ security detail was following the couple and after the crazy stuff happened, they whisked him away. I can’t believe they left Rihanna to fend for herself! If it is true, that is some effed up crap. The least they could have done was leave one security with Rihanna.
Chris Brown may be in the middle of the storm but he can always rely on his family to stand by him in any weather. Chris figured in a nasty domestic violence accusation which prevented him from appearing in last Sunday’s Grammy. Reports were sketchy but what is confirmed is that Brown was booked but released by the police later after posting bail. But after that incident no one could find the 19-year old singer and this led to speculations as to his whereabouts.
Now, his family is speaking up for him with his dad Clinton Brown saying Chris is home and that he spoke to him last Thursday. The elder Brown, who is a corrections officer, said Chris needed sometime to gather his thoughts and regroup. Rumors that Chris spent a night at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in Las Vegas were indeed true after which he went on to see his mother Joyce Hawkins. Chris is remorseful, his father said, and just wants to make sure that Rihanna is okay. The 20-year old Rihanna, on the other hand, was released Monday from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
