The Black Eyed Peas are set to team up with blockbuster film director James Cameron to create a tour DVD.

Frontman will.i.am has revealed that the band want to create a 3-D film and chose the Avatar director because of his reputation in the movie industry.

The rapper/music producer told Vibe they wanted to pick a director that matched the band’s ever-growing status.

He said: “We have the biggest director, because we are the biggest group on the planet.

“The Peas are filming it in South America. People will be able to see us in the theatre with the 3-D glasses and everything.”

The film – which is scheduled to hit theatres next year – will be a full-length feature that follows the band as they tour the globe.

He added: “We’ve toured from America and Europe, to the Middle East, South America, Asia and Africa. It’s not like we go, ‘Yo, we are international, you know what I’m saying? London and Paris!’ Nah, that’s just two cities. We want to go across the planet.”

Lady Gaga on Top in UK

Ξ June 17th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Black Eyed Peas, Free Download, Lady Gaga, Rihanna |

Lady Gaga has sold over 4 million digital copies of her music in the UK! That makes the princess of pop the number 1 digital selling artist across the pond. The singer broke Rihanna’s record which was at 2.5 million digital downloads last year. The Black Eyed Peas came in at second place to Lady Gaga as the hip hop band raked in 3.3 million digital downloads. Congratulations to Lady Gaga for once again making history and breaking another record! She is unstoppable! I can’t see an end to the craze surrounding her. It just goes to show that she’s not just some passing fad.

Music and sports are the lifeblood of African culture, so to combine those in this historic event will be a true celebration of Africa.

Fergie has Hottest Hollywood Body

Her face may be busted but Id be lying if I said that Fergie didnt have a great body. The Black Eyed Peas singer topped the list of Hollywoods most desired body by the offices of Beverly Hills plastic surgeons Richard W. Fleming, MD and Toby G. Mayer, MD beating out former winners Jennifer Aniston and Eva Longoria Parker. Following Fergie in the list for best body were Gisele Bundchen and Olivia Wilde. Dr. Fleming said It amazes me that peoples concepts of beauty hasnt changed that much over the years; what people are requesting in terms of beauty has been pretty consistent with us. Our patients want to look natural and proportional.

Fergie for the Dolphins

Ξ January 4th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Black Eyed Peas, Fergie |

Fergie and her hubby Josh Duhamel joined her dad Patrick Ferguson at the Miami Dolphins game this past Sunday afternoon. Just last month, the 34-year old Black Eyed Peas singer and Nine actress was approved by a sufficient number of owners to become a limited partner in the Dolphins organization. Fergie joins a list of celebrities who are partners including Marc Anthony and Emilio and Gloria Estefan. Unfortunately for those celebrities, the Dolphins lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 30-24. How sad is it that the team with the most famous supporters is the team which absolutely sucks? You have to wonder if they made the right choice.

Will.i.am ripping off music

Look what the cat dragged in. It seems that Black Eyed Peas member Will.i.am is not as original an artist as he might boast himself to be. A singer and producer by the name of FrankMusik has recently accused Will.i.am of stealing his music. Of course, the man did it on twitter, because lets face it, thats the place where we report copyright infringements and he also has such an elegant way of expressing himself: OK SO Cheryl Cole ft Will.i.am – Boy Like You IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF OF A TRACK I DID FOUND HERE! Well, maybe somebody would have taken this seriously in other circumstances, but on twitter, fat chance! Looks like Will.i.am is free to expand his musical horizons even further.

Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am ‘inspired’ by Australian PM’s race relations

SPL109805_004

Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am has commended Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd for his February 2008 apology to the “stolen generations”, saying it has inspired people around the world.

“I salute … Prime Minister Rudd, said will.i.am, who is touring in Australia. If it wasn’t for that I believe there would not have been that wave of conscious shifting happening and I don’t think there would be an Obama.”

The star was speaking at the opening of an art project – entitled Nomad Two Worlds – which marked the reconciliation of Australia’s Aboriginal population with white Australia.

He said: “I think seeing a potential leader of a country as wonderful as Australia take a stand and do that inspired other world leaders and potential world leaders on what they can do … The future leaders of the world are breaking down the walls of what once held us back in the past. I really salute and I’m truly very inspired by your prime minister.”

‘The E.N.D.’ Marks The Group’s First #1 Album & Their Highest Sales Week Ever!

Black Eyed Peas’ “The E.N.D.” bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 304,000 — the hip-pop act’s best sales week ever. It’s also the first No. 1 album for the group, which had previously gone as high as No. 2. Its last set, 2005’s “Monkey Business,” bowed in the runner-up slot with a then-best 291,000. It had the unfortunate luck to come out the same week as Coldplay’s “X&Y,” which kept the Peas’ at bay when it started at No. 1 with 737,000. -via Billboard.com

Kanye West actually confirmed the news on his blog saying Will.i.am is producing U2s next album. Im sure it will be dope as s judging from the crazy beats hes done in the past 3 years! will.i.am has also commented on the news saying I would love to do something with them. If that ever happens it would be a dream come true! I went to Bonos house. He has these summer parties and I went and had great food. It was the best. Will.i.am Filling In For Kanye

Rapper Kanye West was scheduled to perform at tonight?s Victoria’s Secret fashion show but had to cancel a number of appearances due to the tragic loss of his mother Dr. Donda West. Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.am will step up and fill in for Kanye for the big show. Keep the faith Kanye, I lost my mother a couple months ago in a similar situation and its not easy but be strong and I know you can be. Just remember God always and morals and values your mother taught you. And that?s very nice of all those who try and fill up for the professional commitments of people who cannot under such circumstances fulfill theirs. Some people like the organizers are very though on singers or be it any other field that what may come they have to fulfill their commitments, in such case when you do not have the mental strength to stand on stage and deliver it?s better to ask a friend to fill into your shoes.

Black Eyed Peas leader “nervous” about solo debut

Black Eyed Peas leader will.i.am says he’s “really excited and nervous at the same time” about becoming a solo artist with the September 25 release of “Songs About Girls.”

“I was like, ‘How and why should I put out a solo project?’ I could just do another Black Eyed Peas record,” he tells Billboard.com. The hook, he says, was making “Songs About Girls” a semi-autobiographical conceptual piece “where all the songs could tell a story of falling in love, falling out of love, trying to get back in love, destructing love and destroying love and then starting a new situation. That journey is what makes this unique.”

The album features only one guest star, Snoop Dogg, on the electroclash-styled track “Donque.”

Besides the album’s 12 songs, will.i.am shot videos for eight of the tracks and stitched them together into “a movie about making a movie” that will accompany the CD.

will.i.am plans to perform some of the “Songs About Girls” material live when Black Eyed Peas hit the road for a two-month international tour on September 4 in Israel. The group will play in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America and Mexico but not in North America. “There’s no Black Eyed Peas record out,” he explains, “and America’s weird like that. If you ain’t got nothing in the marketplace, (the fans) ain’t showing up.”
