Amy Winehouse is about to deliver some new music. It’s just too bad that it’s not her own. The singer is starting her own record label called Lioness Records. Her official website explains “Amy wanted to create a label where she could sign and work closely with a small roster of artists she really believed in. Lioness symbolises strength, pride and confidence, and will be a place where the artist is given the time, space and the opportunity to develop and flourish.” The first artist on her label is her goddaughter, 13-year Dionne Bromfield from London. She said “The first time I heard Dionne sing, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing…such an amazing voice from such a young girl. I’m just so proud of her. I’m very lucky to have a record label. I’ve got all these people that I love, that are really talented — and Dionne is my number one.”
Amy Winehouse’s dad Mitch is reportedly planning to bring out his own album following his daughter’s success.
Amy, 25, has had two successful albums and is currently working on her third album.
It is claimed that her dad Mitch now fancies trying his hand at music and producing some material.
Reports say Mitch has been working on tracks including some Frank Sinatra covers as well as some of his own tracks.
A source said: “Mitch has been working on it for a while now. Amy always credits her dad with getting her into singing. He loves music. He has a good voice and wants a go at turning pro.”
Mitch has reportedly approached his daughter’s record label Island Records about getting a deal together.
However, if that falls through, he can work with daughter Amy on her own label, Lioness.
A teary-eyed Amy Winehouse arrived at London’s Gatwick airport on Monday morning after the singer’s extended 8-month stay in St. Lucia. I can’t believe she made it in one piece! Actually, I think Wino looked a million times better than she has in previous months. She has more meat on her bones now. According to her spokesperson, Wino is really happy to be back in the UK and “can’t wait to catch up with family and friends.” However, some people are saying that’s not the real case. Wino apparently outstayed her welcome on the island. Wino kept getting banned from hotel bars and disturbing the locals so she thought that it would be a good idea to pack it up and leave before she was banned from ever returning.
Sooner or later, someone’s going to have a hospital wing named after Amy Winehouse as the British singer has once again visited the hospital for the third time in three months last week. The doctors of St. Lucia knew the drill so well that Wino was even released the same night that she was admitted. Wino’s friends are worried that her latest trip will mean that she is still not ready to go back to the full swing of things regarding her career. Wino is scheduled to make a comeback performance in London at the end of this month and they are saying that she might not make it.
Amy Winehouse was supposed to perform in St. Lucia last Friday but a heavy rainstorm brought the performance to a halt shortly into her set and ultimately forced Wino to postpone the gig. This was the singer’s first attempt at performing in 2009 and her rep says that she tried to continue through the rain but was forced to stop. There’s no word if she’ll reschedule. However, if her performance is anything like the one that she gave for a jazz fest this past weekend, I know that a lot of people are hoping that she just drop off the face of the earth. Wino’s performance was a train wreck! She sounded awful, stopped during the middle of the song and walked off stage!

Amy Winehouse was taken to the hospital in St. Lucia this past weekend. The singer’s spokesperson said that the reason behind the hospitalization was dehydration. Wino’s publicist said “She fainted at home (in St Lucia) and they took her in for observation, mainly to do with her medication to check everything was OK. They told her that she was dehydrated and needed to drink more water.” Her publicist further claims that Wino was running around with a group of children before she passed out. She’s expected to perform at a jazz festival in St. Lucia later this week so I hope she feels better.
Executives at Universal have just about had it with Amy Winehouse. The label threw away lots of money so the singer could return to St. Lucia and finally record her promised follow up to ‘Back to Black’, an album that the label has been waiting years for Wino to record. They had about enough of her antics when they found out that instead of dedicating time to the new record, Wino has been in the studio with Damon Albarn’s virtual rock project Gorillaz. A source said “Imagine how they felt when they realized she had agreed to work with Gorillaz? They couldn’t believe it. It’s an unnecessary distraction. They think she should invest all her energy in her own music. She should be knuckling down and delivering the goods.”
The singer thinks that the troubled Amy Winehouse is “hardcore”. Adele said this about the singer of “Rehab”: “I think Amy is hardcore. She is a true phenomenon. When Amy was big in America, me and Duffy were blowing up in England, and I think it made the journey over a bit smoother for us.” How can you not consider Amy Winehouse to be hardcore? She goes around messing up her marriage and then wants to fix it all again? She managed to turn her husband into a felon and other some such details. Still, Adele is right about making the journey for her and Duffy to America easier. After Amy Winehouse hit America, the standards most definitely changed.

The official line up was just recently announced and Wino’s involvement was definitely nothing short of surprising. Is she even going to show up? The singer applied for a visa to attend Sunday?s Grammys bash, but was denied as officials found traces of an un-named illegal drug in her blood following the test at the US Embassy in central London. Pals said Amy, 24, was ?gutted? by the news yesterday, and fear it will affect her battle with drugs.
A spokesman said she accepts the ban. But a pal said she was ?desperate? to perform at the Los Angeles bash – where she is up for six awards – adding: ?It was her main incentive to get clean. It?s a blow.?

Amy Winehouse?s luck seems to be making a turn for the better now that it?s a new year. The singer just got a lucky break because prosecutors have decided that they will not charge Wino in her husband?s witness tampering case. She was under investigation because police grew suspicious of the amount of money that her husband attempted to use for bribery since he doesn?t really sweat money and only Wino makes the cash flow in.
Amy was even ?arrested? last month but was really just brought in for questioning about it. It looks like she did good in the interrogation room because she is now in the clear. As for her husband, the jury is still out.
We?ve had a lot to say about Rehab singer Amy Winehouse of late. With her recent activities at her gigs, and her hubby in jail there has been a lot of speculation as to whether the 24-year-old is heading for a breakdown.

Troubled British pop star Amy Winehouse isn’t planning to sober up anytime soon – if her rider backstage at the MOBO Awards in London is anything to go by. The Rehab singer, who suffered health problems this summer after an apparent drug overdose, hasn’t cut back on her heavy drinking ways. Wasted talent.. she really should go to rehab poor thing she must have some really emotional heart agues for always wanting to be drunk she cant handle it sober.. is anyone surprised? I am not, really once these girls get into boozing and stuff like drugs then it really a matter of time that they start screwing up where ever they go, where they can. The awards ceremonies and parties are the perfect get away escapes for the drunkards and druggies with the comforts of lavish lounges and night clubs to party they just can?t resist the temptation to booze and get high all night till they are carried away by some friends to their homes or hotel rooms.

The ?Rehab? singer has cancelled her appearance in Germany where she was supposed to open for the Rolling Stones. She also won?t be opening for them at another concert later in the week. Who the heck refuses the Rolling Stones? That is such an honor.
Anyway, Wino is still scheduled to perform at the V Festival in the UK this weekend but I?m willing to be that she?d cancel that too.

Pop singer Amy Winehouse has spoken out about her hospital visit earlier this week.
Winehouse was rushed to University College Hospital in London suffering from “severe exhaustion,” on Wednesday.
“I don’t know how to explain what happened. I don’t really know myself,” Winehouse told Britain’s News of The World of the incident.
“I can’t remember what I looked like. I couldn’t recognize myself. It was terrifying. I was terrified,” she added.
While Amy’s rep said only that the singer was suffering from “severe exhaustion,” News of the World claims, the “Rehab” singer’s hospital visit was due to the downing of several hard drugs combined with alcohol.
Though it appears, Winehouse did not comment to the paper on the drugs and alcohol allegations, the singer did say she herself was concerned over her trip to the hospital.
“I was so out of control. It just happened. It shocked me. I’m sorry. I just don’t know what got into me,” she said. “I never want to feel that way again.”
Winehouse’s biggest hit, “Rehab,” was written in response to her manager encouraging her to go to a treatment facility. The singer is known for enjoying her alcohol and is regularly spotted by the paparazzi in British pubs and at off license stores buying booze.

Now how could she be performing anywhere when she is addicted to drugs, she will be out of her minds most of the time, singing drug related tunes that won?t be understandable to her.
