What do you do when you join American idol and lose?
You join a MUSICAL!
Like the many other Idol alums such as Clay Aiken, another American Idol contestant is set to hit the Great White Way (although, I’d like to think that this is the last option for most of them)
The long-haired rocker Ace Young will be part of the cast of Grease on September 9th.
According to reports, Ace is set to take on the role of Kenickie.
It may not be the career they wanted, but at least there’s somewhere for the former idols to go to!
If you’re a young female, chances are, Rihanna is one of your idols right now and you pretty much envy the life she lives. For Jordin Sparks, it’s not really all that different. The American Idol alum recently confessed to having a crush on Chris Brown but couldn’t pursue the crooner after she heard he was dating Rihanna. Jordin says “I didn’t know they were dating - they were doing the ‘just good friends’ thing in the media - and I thought ‘Oooh, maybe I have a chance’. But it’s not to be. They are a sweet couple. I wish them all the best.”
American Idol champ David Cook and his runner up David Archuleta were both spotted while passing through LAX airport in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The younger David, who arrived with his father Jeff, recently blogged on why he’s in town saying “I’m in L.A. for the time we have off right now and have had a couple of meetings involving the album, which were fun. Our next show is in St. Louis, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never been there so it should be fun to see the big arch there haha. Anyway I’ll try to get that blog up, even though it’s not fancy or anything haha, so you guys can at least see it soon. Oh one more thing. On So You Think You Can Dance, a couple named Katee and Will danced to my performance “Imagine.” I thought that was way cool! Haha. They did awesome. I feel… Like honored lol. Ok sorry i’m out of it right now so have a good night everyone.”
Jordin Sparks celebrated Independence Day by performing during Macy’s Fourth of July celebration for the second straight year in New York City on Friday. The 18-year old American Idol champ performed her latest hit ‘One Step at a Time’. Before taking the stage, Jordin said “Having the people be here and lights, it’s like the city that never sleeps. And it’s just like once you get out here you’re just like, ‘You know what? I’m good! I can do this! I can perform at this now! I’m good!’” Other performers include British singer Natasha Bedingfiled, country crooner Kenney Chesney and Gavin Degraw.
If you still think that there’s no such thing as an American Idol curse, you might want to think again. It’s being said that 2004 champ Fantasia Barrino has just been dropped by her management team. The singer is s
