And very happy about it… and also getting married with the father. So far it all sounds like a fairy tale, doesn’t it? It seems Alicia Keys is expecting her very first child with producer Swizz Beatz with whom she will also be getting married later this year. This is what a representative of Alicia Keys said on the matter: ”They are very happy. Alicia is with the man who has inspired so much of her music and her album ‘The Element of Freedom’.” Things seem to be going so fabulous for her… something must go awry at some point. But until that point comes, there will be nothing left to do for Alicia Keys but rejoice. This might just be the beginning of a new brood.
Heres an interesting principle that Alicia Keys has and that you might not find at too many artists. Apparently the singer doesnt like recording a song that she wouldnt be able to sing live. This is what Alicia Keys said on the matter: “I never use Auto-Tune, or anything like that. I won’t have that software in my life. I don’t mind others using it. But if I can’t sing on my own, then I’m not going to record it.” Well, at least some pop starts still have a bit of decency left in them too bad for Alicia Keys that shes part of this dwindling race.
Alicia Keys will be joining Shakira and The Black Eyed Peas in performing at the FIFA World Cup Kick Off Celebration Concert in June. The concert will take place in South Africa on June 10th to celebrate the start of the World Cup and up to 30,000 spectators are expected to attend. Former soccer player and festivities organizer Lucas Radebe said I believe these historic events will go a long way towards uniting the people of our rainbow nation in South Africa. Music and sports are the lifeblood of African culture, so to combine those in this historic event will be a true celebration of Africa.
The singer recently decided to share with us all how content she feels about all the relationships she has had thus far even though they have all run their courses as it seems. This is what Alicia Keys said on the matter:”I’ve never dated a ton of people, I’ve always been a one-guy kind of girl, but I have to say that I’ve always been lucky with love, blessed with it. Overall I haven’t had any terrible relationships – apart from a couple of little stupid ones when I was younger, but at that age you kinda can’t help it. But I’ve always had really great guys in my life, you know? They’ve been very stable men as well. I need a guy who is strong-minded, not intimidated by me – I don’t like those kind of guys.” For such a string of stable and strong-minded guys, its really strange none of them stuck around Alicia Keys long enough. That might tell you a bit about how the singer herself behaved in her relationships.
Beyonce recently shot a guest spot in Alicia Keys new music video Put it in a Love Song in the Morro da Conceicao slum of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this past Tuesday. The song is from Alicias latest album The Element of Freedom. Speaking of Beyonce, the R&B singer is also rumored to star in the remake of the classic A Star is Born. Russell Crowe may play the aging, alcoholic musician who mentors and falls in love with Beyonces character. Im all for the classics but Im not sure about the remake of that movie. Beyonce is definitely no Barbra Streisand.
Singer Alicia Keys and her producer boyfriend Swizz Beatz have been looking for a home to share for a couple of months now but it seems that they may have finally found the perfect place. A source said that the couple has reportedly had their eye on a multi-million dollar 3-bedroom penthouse across from Gracie Mansion in New York which theyve toured four times already. The duplex has a fireplace, double-height ceilings, three bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and East River views. Sounds pretty swanky! I wonder when the couple plans to move in. Its always a big move for every relationship to move in together.
It has been announced that Lady Gaga will be taking the stage at this years American Music Awards on November 22. The pop singer joins other performing acts such as Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry and Adam Lambert. I hope that she performs Bad Romance. I am really loving that song! With the addition of Lady Gagas performance, it is bound to be quite the entertaining show this year. She always has the ability to steal the show with her one of a kind performances and crazy outfits. Plus, you can bet that shes going to nab several awards.
Rapper Jay-Z and singer Alicia Keys have filmed their new video near Ground Zero.
The pair’s new single, Empire State of Mind, has recently been shot in Tribeca and around the site where the World Trade Centre used to stand.
Keys, 28, told MTV News: “Working together on Empire State of Mind was incredible. I’ve admired Jay-Z for a long time. Reasonable Doubt is my all-time favourite album. I always figured that we would do some type of collaboration, and finally, it came together with this.
“He reached out to me and said, ‘I have this big New York record. I feel it’s right for us to do it together. It has this big Frank Sinatra, take-it-there feeling. I feel like you could really do something with it.’”
The singer added: “I went by [the studio], took a listen to it. I really felt the energy of New York all through it. It felt classic, it felt so good; the piano obviously was in there. I said, ‘I love it, so let’s do it’. I think we both are really happy with how it came out.”

Alicia Keys made comments about ?gangsta rap? in an interview with Blender magazine which she says were misinterpreted. The 27-year old singer was quoted in saying ?Gangsta rap was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. Gangsta rap didn?t exist.? What a conspiracy theory, huh? In a statement issued by J Records, Alicia now says ?My comments about `gangsta rap? were in no way trying to suggest that the government is responsible for creating this genre of rap music. The point that I was trying to make was that the term was oversloganized by some of the media causing reactions that were not always positive.?
Alicia Keys hit the top of the charts this week with her new album ?As I Am?. The gorgeous and talented singer has hit Number one with her album in the Billboard 200 charts, after it sold over 700,000 copies in the US. Blimey girl that?s a lot of albums!
