Kelly Clarkson in London

Kelly Clarkson performed at the Shockwaves Album Chart show and also made an appearance at Radio One studios to perform on Jo Whiley?s ?Live Lounge? this past Tuesday in London, England. The 26-year old original American Idol champion?s new single ?My Life Would Suck Without You? has topped the charts at number one this week in the UK, beating out county singing cutie Taylor Swift?s ?Love Story?. If they were the only two to choose from, the UK clearly has a win-win situation. They?ve got good taste. Maybe the complete leak of Kelly?s ?All I Ever Wanted? album helped her edge Taylor out.

U2 Leaked by Label

It seems like no one is safe from getting their albums leaked on the net. Kelly Clarkson just suffered the same fate last week and now, she?s joined by the iconic rock band U2. The Irish band?s ?No Line on the Horizon? has leaked, just a week before its official March 3rd release. Apparently, Universal Music Australia?s getmusic.com.au was responsible for putting the album up for sale for a hot minute. A U2 fan site grabbed it up and now the album in on the internet for everyone to steal. After hearing their first single, I already had my doubts. Hearing the rest of the album just cemented them. It?s not worth the money, trust me.

The new Kelly Clarkson album has just leaked on the internet in its entirety. While that may come off as bad news, that?s where it ends. Everything else is good news after that. The great news is that the album is really good. I love it a whole lot even after just listening through it one full time. The whole thing is great! Almost every song has the potential to be a massive single for the original American Idol. That makes it official. Kelly Clarkson is back and she?s back with a vengeance! Congrats! I bet that the leak will even help her sell more albums rather than make her lose money.

Bruce Springsteen recently opened up to Bob Costas as to why he decided to perform at this past Sunday?s Super Bowl after repeatedly turning down past invites. The rocker bluntly answers with ?I have an album to promote dummy. It’s not rocket science.? And here I thought he was one of those few rockers who did everything with integrity. Here?s his Super Bowl performance brimming with a shameless plug for his new album. Money truly drives people to do some very interesting things. Oh well, at least he didn?t have any wardrobe malfunctions to have people talking about him even more.

?Hi people. Here is an open question. Since I got my guitars back I have been considering playing guitar live again. Who thinks I should pick it up again? I play guitar all day every day as I am always working on new songs. Let me know if you think I should hit it live. The king is dead. God save the king.?

Possible Blink 182 reunion tour are diminishing. Mark Hoppus said that the 3 of them, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge, have started to reconnect. However, in a new interview, Mark reveals plans to release his own solo album. That means he?s also ditching that band he made with Travis after Blink, +44. He said ?Since late August of last year, I’ve been in the studio every week writing songs with the intention of putting out a record of my own. As of this week, I’ve got about 10 songs in various stages of completion and another 10 ideas that I still want to work on. ? By the way, this interview will be the first time many people at the label are going to hear about the possibility of me doing an album on my own.? He also said that Travis supports him completely as the drummer actually plays on most of his tracks.

Rihanna is a Hustler

Rihanna is now a certified diva. According to EW, if we?re going by Beyonce?s definition of a diva being a female version of a hustler, then Rihanna definitely qualifies. The 20-year old Barbadian babe has been hustling hard since her first appearance on the scene with each of her albums having a number 1 single. But her latest and most explosive album ?Good Girl Gone Bad? has shelled 8 hit singles and is her third record in 2 years! She?s also coming up with a CD of remixes in 2009, has toured with Kanye West, designed for H&M, has Chris Brown as a boyfriend and has worked with so many great artists. She?s currently tied with Beyonce for the most number 1 song within a decade for a female solo artist. Rihanna?s bound to surpass that record in no time.

Axl?s Fears

Ξ December 16th, 2008 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Album Release, Guns N' Roses |

Reports are circulating that Guns N Roses front man Axl Rose is suffering from a case of anthropophobia. In simpler terms, it means that he?s afraid of people. He?s most likely done the nasty with a lot of groupies and they say he?s afraid of people. Right. Insiders are saying that the fear has gotten really bad. With the release of ?Chinese Democracy?, you?d think that Axl would be promoting it but that?s not the case. A source said that Axl ?has fired his management company, Front Line, three times in four weeks. He hasn’t left his Los Angeles home in two months. He won’t give interviews, won’t do talk shows, or perform – which makes touring or promoting very difficult, obviously.?

Avril Lavigne?s most recent album and tour were huge failures, and that may even be taking it lightly because her previous efforts have been nothing but more successful. As artists are prone to do, the singer and so-called songwriter is looking to put the blame on anyone but herself. Sources reveal that the Canadian has just fired her longtime manager and management company, Terry McBride of Nettwerk. A source said ?Avril is hoping that new management can help her new album be more successful than the last.? Avril is now said to have hired Irving Azoff and his management company to represent her. They have worked with artists such as Christina Aguilera and the Eagles.

American Idol champ David Cook took a big bite out of his self-titled major label debut album at Hard Rock Caf? in Times Square last week. His CD dropped in stores last week and is expected to land in the top three during its first week in sales. The 25-year old singer and songwriter recently sat down with EW to talk about his music. When asked about the comparison between him and Chris Daughtry, he said ?Opinions and perceptions, man ? I didn?t let it get to me on the show, and I see no reason to let it get to me afterward. I just think this record is me, and if people want to compare it to Daughtry, awesome. He?s sold a ton of records. I just hope someday the coin will flip and somebody will compare somebody else to me.?

The prototype of the Jonas Brothers, the Hanson Brothers, walked barefoot through Times Square in New York City recently for their ?Take the Walk? tour. I wonder if 27-year old Isaac, 25-year old Taylor and 22-year old Zac were aware of how many germs there are on the ground. Anyway, while working on their 2007 album ?The Walk?, the singing trio made trips to Africa in an effort to understand the poverty and disease that grips the continent. That?s where the ?Take the Walk? tour comes in as a charity that brings attention to the poverty and AIDS epidemic in Africa through simple actions from individuals everywhere.

Fireman?s Inspiration – Sir Paul McCartney

Ξ October 13th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Album Release, Paul McCartney |

Sir Paul McCartney is releasing a new dance album in November under his alter ego, the Fireman. According to a new report, the inspiration, in a not so good way, for the album was his ex-wife Heather Mills. The album title itself, ?Electronic Arguments?, is a reference to texts and emails that went on between the two during their marriage breakdown. The first song of the album ?Nothing Too Much Just Out of Sight?, Paul sings ?You said you love me – but was it true? The last thing to do was to lie about me silently.? Another track called ?Two Magpies? is a reference to Heather and her sister Fiona who squeezed him for the $50 million settlement. Sources say that it was named such since magpies are known to have the habit of taking brightly-colored shiny trinkets and jewelery to make their nests with.
