There’s a new, albeit rumored, self-titled album cover for American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen out on the internet. The singer’s current single is ‘Live Like We’re Dying’ and the album is scheduled to be released on November 17th. A couple of days ago, Kris was asked how close he was to wrapping things up on the record and he told EW, “We’re still writing some more songs for the album, and just putting some finishing touches on other tracks, going back to do some minor vocal takes, and that’s kind of it. We have a lot of songs that are almost done, and with a little bit of work we’ll have them completely done.”
OneRepublic have unveiled the cover to their highly anticipated sophomore album Waking Up. The follow-up to their Dreaming Out Loud debut is due out on November 17th, and it features the powerful new single “All The Right Moves.” OneRepublic broke records with their mega-hit “Apologize” which became the most legally downloaded song in US digital history.
In anticipation of the album’s release, the Colorado-based quintet is heading out on tour with Rob Thomas. Visit Myspace.com/OneRepublic

Full press release below:
In 2007, after seven years together as a band, OneRepublic took the world by storm with their debut release Dreaming Out Loud. The album included the smash first single “Apologize” which shattered digital sales and airplay records worldwide, and along with second single “Stop And Stare” propelled the album to platinum plus sales. Now the boys from Denver are back with a new set and a fall tour! Waking Up will be released November 17th on Mosley/Interscope Records. First single “All The Right Moves” will go for adds at radio September 22nd.
In support of their new release OneRepublic will join Rob Thomas on tour beginning September 23rd at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, FL.
OneRepublic recorded Waking Up in their home town of Denver, CO. Tedder, an accomplished producer in his own right, and one of the most sought after songwriters of today, has penned and produced hit singles for the likes of Leona Lewis, Beyonce, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Lopez and Natasha Bedingfield and is currently working with Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Adam Lambert and Rascal Flatts. Naturally he was up for producing duties on his band’s new album.
OneRepublic is Ryan Tedder (songwriter/vocals/keyboard), Zach Filkins (guitar), Drew Brown (guitar), Brent Kutzle (bass, cello), and Eddie Fisher (drums). In addition to their success here in the states, OneRepublic also has tremendous international success achieving gold record status in 12 countries. They have shared the stage with acts such as Lenny Kravitz, The Verve, and Muse at various music festivals around the world.
Razorlight singer Johnny Borrell wants the band’s next album to have a dance feel.
Borrell, 29, said: “It’s going to be a different sound, I want to collaborate with someone. I’m thinking a house music extravaganza.
“I was sifting through old things the other day and found a piece of paper with some songs from Carl Barat. That was another era. I wish The Libertines all the best if they do get back together.”

SINGER-SONGWRITER KATE VOEGELE RETURNS
WITH MUCH-BUZZED-ABOUT NEW ALBUM A FINE MESS
ALBUM PRODUCED BY MIKE ELIZONDO (MAROON 5, PINK, RIHANNA)
AND SCHEDULED FOR A MAY ‘09 RELEASE
Singer-songwriter Kate Voegele is gearing up for the May release of A Fine Mess, the highly anticipated follow-up to her 2008 debut album, Don’t Look Away (MySpace/Interscope). Voegele recorded the album in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo (Rihanna, Maroon 5, Pink).
The 22-year-old has been racking up frequent flier miles of late, jetting back and forth between L.A. and Wilmington, North Carolina, where she’s also shooting new episodes of the CW Network’s hit TV series “One Tree Hill.” This season sees Voegele reprising her role as singer-songwriter Mia. She made headlines last year by performing several songs on the show, all from Don’t Look Away.
In their year-end issue, Billboard magazine spotlighted the 10 biggest film and television placement/appearances of 2008 and put Voegele’s involvement with “One Tree Hill” at No. 1. Wrote Billboard Sr. Editor Ann Donohue, “There’s getting a song placed in a prime-time show and then there’s getting cast in that show to play your own music and have the show’s creator write storylines for you inspired by your songs. Such was the case for Kate Voegele…”.
The new season of “One Tree Hill” will see Voegele giving audiences sneak previews of songs from the upcoming album, beginning with the March 16th episode, when she will premiere a brand-new track titled “Manhattan From The Sky.”
Voegele, hailed by Entertainment Weekly for being among the best of “the new golden age of female singer-songwriters,” spent the majority of 2008 touring in support of debut album Don’t Look Away, the record that earned her “Artist To Watch In ‘08” accolades from Billboard. Over the course of the year, she shared stages with Natasha Bedingfield, The Veronicas, Ben Lee, Cary Brothers and launched her own headlining tour.
Voegele performed on “Live with Regis and Kelly” and CBS’ “The Early Show,” and also appeared on “TRL” and Fuse-TV’s “The Sauce.” She recently gave a special acoustic performance on the ABC-TV’s “The Bachelor.” She’s also been featured on the cover of USA Today’s “Life” section and appeared in the pages of People, CosmoGirl, TV Guide and Giant, to name but a few.
Check out Kate’s latest video blog to sneak a peek inside the studio while she works on the new album.

The second part is ‘House of Fun (Anything Goes) and shows a Martial Arts Segue, ‘Ooh Ooh Baby’/’Hot as Ice’, ‘Boys’, ‘If U Seek Amy’ and ‘Me Against the Music (Bollywood)’. The third part, ‘Freakshow/Peepshow’ goes as Everybody’s Looking for Something Segue, ‘Freakshow’, ‘Get Naked’, Britney’s Hotline and ‘Breathe’/’Touch of My Hand’. The fourth part, ‘Electro Circ’, goes as Break the Ice Segue, ‘Do Something’, ‘Slave’, Dancer Solo Segue/Heartbeat Segue, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Baby One More Time (Remix)’. No Line On The Horizon, the new album from U2 featuring the single “Get On Your Boots” is in stores now. The album is the band’s 12th studio album and their first release since the nine million selling album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, released in late 2004.
The new album, produced by Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois and Steve Lillywhite, has been chose as Amazon’s “Deal of the Day” for today’s release and offers special pricing for one only.
No Line On The Horizon is also being released in a standard format with a 24- page booklet and in digipak format. The digipak includes an extended booklet and the album’s companion film “Linear” by Anton Corbijn. A limited edition package with album, cd and 64-page magazine will also be available, featuring the band in conversation with artist Catherine Owens, and new Anton Corbijn photographs. No Line On The Horizon will be released on 180gm vinyl.
Kelly Clarkson performed at the Shockwaves Album Chart show and also made an appearance at Radio One studios to perform on Jo Whiley’s ‘Live Lounge’ this past Tuesday in London, England. The 26-year old original American Idol champion’s new single ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ has topped the charts at number one this week in the UK, beating out county singing cutie Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’. If they were the only two to choose from, the UK clearly has a win-win situation. They’ve got good taste. Maybe the complete leak of Kelly’s ‘All I Ever Wanted’ album helped her edge Taylor out.
It seems like no one is safe from getting their albums leaked on the net. Kelly Clarkson just suffered the same fate last week and now, she’s joined by the iconic rock band U2. The Irish band’s ‘No Line on the Horizon’ has leaked, just a week before its official March 3rd release. Apparently, Universal Music Australia’s getmusic.com.au was responsible for putting the album up for sale for a hot minute. A U2 fan site grabbed it up and now the album in on the internet for everyone to steal. After hearing their first single, I already had my doubts. Hearing the rest of the album just cemented them. It’s not worth the money, trust me.
