British rapper Chipmunk has chosen the track “In the Air”, his duet with R&B singer Keri Hilson, as the official second single from his upcoming studio album “Transition”, which will be available in UK stores on April 18th. It’s a nice collaboration. Keri’s part on the song is catchy and her vocals are super sweet. Chipmunk also kills it in his verses, showing some good energy. With it’s feel-good mid tempo, it’s a winner to me. Let’s see if Keri can help Chipmunk gain his first number 1. His previous single “Champion” which featured Chris Brown peaked at #2 on the UK charts.

Another one of Britney Spears’ songs has come out in its full version. This time, the pop singer’s track “I Wanna Go”, which was produced by Max Martin and Shellback, from her upcoming album “Femme Fatale”, out on March 29, has been released in full. If by the snippet you already thought the song was hot, wait until you hear this one in full. The production is blazing hot and Britney’s sassy vocals are to die for. This one is another hit. At the rate things are going, pretty much every song on her latest album could be potential singles.

It looks like it is too soon to talk of any of that Justin Bieber fever going down since current events suggest quite the opposite. While in Liverpool where he will be holding a concert, the secret location of Justin Bieber was apparently revealed, probably by someone who has no idea what catastrophe that could cause, and the singer’s hotel was immediately swarming with many of his teenage fans. There was mass hysteria and whatnot, especially after some unfounded rumors, but at one point Justin Bieber decided to do all of his fans a bit of good and appear at the balcony and give them a wave or too. The pandemic of Bieber fever apparently rages on… and there’s nothing too likely to stop it.
The singer was recently seen at Rihanna’s concert in Australia interacting very emotionally with Calvin Harris. Actually Kesha’s interaction was of such an observable nature that it prompted one of the onlookers to say the following about it: “They were getting right into it. They were practically fornicating.” Well they were attending one of Rihanna’s concerts, after all… and Kesha has established a reputation as a somewhat rambunctious being… so it’s no wonder she and Calvin Harris left the concert together before it was even over. This is probably going to go on Rihanna’s record though and her shows will now be known for inspiring even more raunchiness… and it’s all Kesha’s fault.
For last night’s American Idol episode contestant Lauren Alaina chose for her personal idol performance Shania Twain’s “Any Man of Mine”. It seems that even though Lauren Alaina did a pretty good job with the song, that’s all it was: a pretty good performance. The judges were expecting something more extraordinary and that was their main point of criticism. Steven Tyler however did seem to be on Lauren Alaina’s side more then the others. It does look like this was her first slip-up of the season, but hopefully this won’t hinder her chances of making it to the end of the show.

British comedy actor Russell Brand got cuddly with Barbara Walters on US TV show The View as he discussed the tedium of married life. Amid rumours that his new marriage is on the rocks already, Brand snuggled close to the 81-year-old, put his arm around her and stroked her hand. The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star, 35, went on to admit that he is "scared" of his new bride, pop singer Katy Perry and said of his home life: "I’m like a butler now. I think it’s because I’m English she thinks I’m a butler." Ex-alcoholic and drug addict Brand continued: "My life used to be about chaos, glass, blood, madness but now it’s ‘go and get that fridge’," he said. "That’s after five months. How am I going to be a decade down the road?" he added. "I’ll be like a servant man, polishing windows and gardening." Brand has just been named Cosmopolitan magazine’s Fun and Fearless Man of the Year. But when host Barbara asked: “There must be something you are afraid of darling, what are you afraid of?” the curly-haired comic replied as he nudged closer to the TV host: “My wife, death and you sometimes.”
British pop band The Wanted has recently premiered the music video for their song “Gold Forever”. The track is their latest single and the official 2011 Comic Relief song – a charity single in the UK. The song is a feel good tune with mid tempo ballad-like verses and a cheerful synth-minded chorus. As for the video, it’s good. It’s nothing ground breaking or utterly original but it goes quite well with the song’s spirit. The guys seemed to have a great time shooting the video so that should be enough reason to check it out. What do you guys think?

Britney Spears has chosen the Dr. Luke-produced and Ke$ha-written “Till the World Ends” as the official second single from her upcoming studio album “Femme Fatale”, which will hit stores on March 29th. The song’s full version hit the internet last week and it is on fire! It’s a certified club banger for sure. The hook is everything. I’m pretty sure that the pop singer has another hit on her hands with this one. Yay for Ke$ha for doing such a good job writing this and hooray for Britney for doing a fantastic job on the song. What do you guys think?

With the release of the singer’s much awaited music video for “Born this Way” it seems that Lady GaGa has embarked upon a path of conquest that is somehow reminiscent of the Blitzkrieg of ages past. Apart from “Governmental Hooker”, Lady GaGa will have yet another single called “Judas” coming in the near future that will also have its own music video. Of this latest single the singer’s creative director, Laurieann Gibson, had this to say: “So, visually, the dance, the costuming, the idea of how big we’re trying to go, it’s going to be a rollercoaster ride. What is a traditional music video? Even if we go with a traditional music video, the directors that we love are not traditional, so the idea that they get to collaborate with us means they too want to live outside of what people expect a traditional music video to be.” Lady GaGa and her crew sure seem to have high expectations of themselves… well, maybe this time it will actually be as earth shattering as they say.
The singer has recently released a brand new music video for his song “More”. The music video isn’t really anything to actually scream at, however the song it seems to be promoting doesn’t sound half-bad. It’s a very catchy pop/R&B piece… nothing that hasn’t been done before, but Usher seems to be singing it the way they used to back in the good old days. The music video is mainly made up of concert footage together with a lot of close-ups with Usher. Not the most amazing combination, but it’s practically free and also ensures that the songs gets more promotion since that’s probably what Usher was going for. So anyone who likes Usher’s singing might also want to take a look at this music video.
Miley Cyrus poked fun at herself and a few other headline-making celebrities during her opening monologue on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. The Disney singer/actress addressed her previous controversies singing “There’s a photo of me being kissed by some dude and [photographer] Annie Leibovitz trying to get me nude. For those of you who think that’s very crude, I’m sorry that I’m not perfect.” In another verse, she pokes fun at Lindsay Lohan and Tiger Woods, singing “I never stole a necklace or got a DUI. Never cheated on my wife like that golfer guy. So what you can see a little boob from the side? I’m sorry I’m not perfect.” Kristen Wiig and Bobby Moynihan also chimed in, saying “You didn’t make a dirty tape and pass it along. You didn’t text a photo of your dong.” To which Miley replied “Don’t both of these things seem worse than a bong?” Epic. She also did an impersonation of Justin Bieber in a skit.
Justin Bieber’s documentary “Never Say Never” has already grossed $63,300,218, landing it a spot as the third highest grossing documentary film of all time. If the pop singer can keep it up, he could reach the top spot. The teen sensation just has to surpass the $77 million to beat “March of the Penguins” for #2 but needs to gross over $120 million to beat out Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11”. It sounds like the penguins are done for. I’m not sure he can beat out Michael but there’s still a possibility. And here I am wishing he would go away.
While it’s not 100% confirmed as of yet, it’s pretty much a given that Britney Spears will be going on tour this 2011. Multiple sources close to the pop singer have claimed that she will be taking “Femme Fatale” on the road and according to an Investor’s Report on LiveNation “At this point, the company expects over 75% of its key Front Line artists to be active and touring during 2011, compared to under 50% of those artists actively touring last year. Major tours are currently expected from, among others, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Neil Diamond, the cast of ‘Glee’, Journey, Kid Rock, Kings Of Leon, Britney Spears and Sugarland.” Hopefully we’ll get an official announcement soon.
From the other side of the fence comes Stefano Langone, one of the three lucky contestants who got into the wild card round and even managed to pass it with his rendition of Smokie Norful’s “I Need You Now”. On passing the wild cards and getting into the Top 13, Stefano Langone had this to say: “Man, it was an honor. It really was. There were 23 of us earlier in the day and there’s only 13 of us now. To get the opportunity to go out there and show what I had and work for it was just a blessing. And I was really happy I got to go out there and give it my all and make it happen.” Well the fact that he’s a wild card means that Stefano Langone is going to have to put in a lot more than he has until now if he wants to make it far.

Pitbull has a new song out in the form of his collaboration with Ne-Yo, Nayer and Afrojack called “Give Me Everything”. The song is the official second single from the rapper’s upcoming studio album “Planet Pit”, which is expected to drop in stores this summer. The song is a certified club banger and in my opinion should be able to hit the top 10 of any chart. If all his fans thought that his late 2010 hit “Hey Baby” was great, “Give Me Everything” is even better. It’s infectious and I’m looking forward to hit the dance floor when this song comes on.

Now this is how you score popularity points. After performing for Libya’s Colonel Gaddafi on New Year’s Eve of 2009, Beyonce has apparently decided that the best thing to do with her earnings from that show would be to donate them to Haiti. This is what Beyonce’s publicist said on the matter: “All money paid to Beyonce for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year’s Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago. Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause.” This is certainly going to give Beyonce an even better popular image… and it might even serve as a good example for some artists out there.
Former Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher has come out in support of new kids TV character Rastamouse. The star, who is the frontman of new band Beady Eye, said he doesn’t agree with the criticism the character has come in for. Rastamouse has been labelled as racist by some critics but the rocker doesn’t see why there’s such a fuss. He said: "Come on, man, people speak like that. D’ya know what I mean?" Gallagher added that he loves watching CBBC with his young sons Lennon and Gene. He said: "It’s an excuse for a kip. I say: ‘You stay there, here’s your popcorn, wake me up at the end.’"
The teenage pop singer might just be on to some very practical and popular fad. For his birthday which is today, Justin Bieber wants his fans to donate seventeen dollars to charity as a birthday gift. This is what Justin Bieber had to say to his fans on his birthday: “I want to make my birthday matter this year – let’s make it so more kids can grow up to have a 17th birthday like me. Join me to make a change. I’m really so grateful for my family, friends and fans – and I believe we can do something big to help bring clean water to people in need. Even if you don’t have $17 to give I just ask you to go out in your community and try and make a positive difference. Even the smallest act of kindness can go a long way. Thanks and God Bless!” If this is the kind of gift that Justin Bieber likes for his birthday hopefully he has been very, very generous in buying himself something too.
The piano that Sir Paul McCartney used to perform Yesterday has gone under the hammer for the first time. The former Beatles star used the piano to think up the music to the famous track in 1964, which has become one of the most covered songs of all time. It’s claimed McCartney thought the song was another artist’s and went to see the singer Alma Cogan to play it for her on her family’s 1926 mini piano but she confirmed it was an original song. The piano, which has also been used by the likes of Mick Jagger, Sean Connery, John Lennon and Michael Caine, is now going up for auction at London’s Drury Lane Theatre. Alma’s sister Sandra Caron is auctioning off the piano and it is expected to go for at least £125,000.
Grammy and Oscar award-winner Jennifer Hudson recently premiered the official music video for her latest single “Where You At”. The R Kelly-written ballad is the first offering from the singer/actress’ upcoming sophomore album called “I Remember Me”, which is due to come out on March 22. At first I just thought that it was a pretty song but I really fell in love with it after seeing Jennifer’s live performances of it. Those diva notes are no joke. As for the visual, it’s cool. It’s a bit boring at some points but it’s well shot and the locations were amazing.
