Jamie Foxx’s New Video – Fall for Your Type

Ξ December 13th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Drake, Jamie Foxx, Singers, song |

Jamie Foxx’s music video for his new single “Fall for Your Type” recently debuted on BET. The video shows the singer “going through the ups and downs in his relationship”. I think it’s ok but perhaps the pace is too slow. I guess it was done to fit the song’s vibe. The song is a ballad with a deep message so I think Jamie played his role pretty well. This collaboration with Drake becomes the third official single from the singer/actor’s upcoming studio album “Best Night of My Life” which hits stores on December 21st. While I do like the full R&B side to Jamie’s music, I don’t think it will do so well due to lack of hype for his new CD.

Cheryl Cole Talks AccentsCheryl Cole Talks Accents

Ξ December 10th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Girls Aloud, X-Factor |

Cheryl Cole is expected to break into American mainstream now that she’s allegedly signed a deal to be on the judges panel of the US version of X Factor but the Girls Aloud singer is reportedly concerned that her thick accent will turn off the audience. A source said “Cheryl was thrilled to accept the offer, but she is terrified it could all go horribly wrong, and has said: ‘what if nobody likes me?’ She thinks being hated in a country like the US could kill her career overnight. Having elocution lessons is a real prospect for Cheryl now. She’s proud of her roots and doesn’t want to change how she speaks, but she accepts that if the Americans don’t understand her, they will quickly turn on her.” Those are silly worries.

Is Hayley Williams Going to be on Glee?

Cory Monteith recently went on Twitter to share a picture of Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams on the set of “Glee” which had many wondering if the rock star was going to be on the show. However, Hayley said that she was only on set to visit and not film a cameo. When sources asked about her visit, Hayley said “A few of the cast members had reached out to me over Twitter a while back. They all seemed really cool and down to earth, so when Cory invited us to come and see the set I was stoked. We don’t do a whole lot of TV appearances and their world is a lot different than what we’re used to. I just had a good time seeing everyone in their element.”

New Song from Jesse McCartney – One Night

Ξ December 9th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ singer, song |

After the debacle that his single “Shake” proved to be in the US, Jesse McCartney wants to now start from scratch with his track “One Night”. The song is the second single from the pop singer’s upcoming LP “Have it All”, which hits stores in early 2011. The track has an up tempo feel and features an electronic arrangement. It’s quite good and is a safer choice if Jesse really wants to show his urban side by keeping up with the current trends of electro pop and dance music. The song is radio friendly and has a great chorus and vibe. All in all, it’s a good single choice.

Nicole Scherzinger’s family isn’t in tune with her career

The singer’s family is apparently not too into her career, especially the dress-code which she has during her photo-shoots, videos, concerts and what not. This is what Nichole Scherzinger had to say on the matter: “I still listen to my mom and my grandfather is a priest! They weren’t too excited when they saw the covers of magazines where my back was nude, and when I did the ‘Hush Hush’ video, my mother was like:, ‘Oh my goodness, I can’t believe you were at the bathtub, almost. so bare.’” Unfortunately, that’s what sells these days and Nicole Scherzinger is just conforming to it. What kind of success would Pussycat Dolls have if she didn’t?

New Michael Jackson Song Featuring 50 Cent – Monster

Ξ December 8th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ 50 cent, Michael Jackson, Singers, song |

Michael Jackson’s first posthumous LP “Michael” leaked on the internet recently and with it, one of the most anticipated songs to listen to. I’m talking about the collaboration that the King of Pop recording with 50 Cent called “Monster”. The track was produced by Teddy Riley and I absolutely love it. It’s a funky song where both the iconic singer and the rapper killed it. While the song was recorded several years ago, it sounds like something that would work out in the current market of the music if it’s released in the right manner. What do you think of the track?

Justin Bieber did get turned down… once

Ξ December 7th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Justin Bieber, Love and Romance |

The teenage pop singing sensation probably has not problem wooing any age-appropriate female on the planet, especially given that French secret weapon of his. But it looks like Justin Bieber is still pretty shy about all of it. When asked if he ever got turned down by a girl, Justin Bieber answered: “Yeah…I don’t remember her name.” Well, that’s sure subtle and modest of him. That was probably a long time ago and now Justin Bieber needs only say the word and they’ll just fall to his feet… especially if the word is in French. But he probably closely follows Usher’s advice.

Cee-Lo Green has premiered the new music video for his song “It’s Ok”. The track is the latest single to be released from his new album “The Lady Killer” which is in stores now. The song has a feel good vibe and a great hook. I can totally see it having a good run on the charts. As for the video, it’s great too. The hip hop singer definitely knows what songs and videos to deliver. I also want to give out some kudos to him as his smash hit “F—k You” has been recognized by the Grammys as the song has been nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Travis Barker is on a mission to help kids find cool alternatives to alcohol and drugs and it’s been reported that the rock star is starting by donating a bunch of drum kits to New York City schools. Sources close to Travis say that he’s partnering up with fellow punk rocker Toby Morse from the band H2O to promote sober living through music among young students and to spread the word that not every rock star is a drug addict. It’s being said that Travis plans to donate between 10 to 20 drum kits a year to NYC school’s through Toby’s organization “One Life One Chance”.

Girls Aloud Featured in Russian Hooker Site

Ξ December 3rd, 2010 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Fun, Girls Aloud |

An escort agency in Russia’s clientele must either come from different planets, be incredibly stupid or both as according to an advertisement for the Babylon Moscow Escort service, Girls Aloud is not only a band of beautiful singers but they are also hookers. An old picture of Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl Cole was posted on the site and even though legal action could be taken, they apparently had a huge kick out of it. Everyone else pretty much knows it’s impossible to be true so it’s great that they found some humor in it.

Billie Joe Armstrong Signs for More American Idiot Performance Dates

Ξ December 3rd, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Green Day, Music, Music Bands |

A lot of Broadway aficionados and Green Day fans will have the time of their lives come January 1. The rock band’s lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong was originally slated to take over the role of St. Jimmy in “American Idiot” for eight performances but the rock star will now return for the role for 50 performances in 2011. Billie Joe will be on stage on January 1 to January 9, January 18 to January 30 and February 10 to February 27. If his September performance is any indication of how the show is going to be, I think it’s going to be a great run for the Green Day singer.

Even though his recent stuff didn’t seem to sound that amazing, it looks like somebody up there sure like’s Eminmen’s music as he is currently at the top of the nominations list for this year’s Grammy with no less than ten nominations. Coldplay have a new video – Christmas Lights

Ξ December 2nd, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Christmas, Coldplay, Video |

The band has recently entered the Christmas spirit vigorously, especially given the release of their latest music video “Christmas Lights”. Visually, the video is a reasonably fun watch, it isn’t too pompous, but it isn’t lacking in nice imagery… there are even a couple of fireworks at the end which might work for some people. The music on the other hand is disappointing, especially given that Coldplay are the ones singing. The song is a pretty mellow piece about a sad Christmas and Coldplay could’ve done so much more with it, but it does seem like they didn’t put too much effort into the writing and just went with common stuff.

New Music from TI and Christina Aguilera – Castle Walls

Ξ December 1st, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Christina Aguilera, T.I. |

One of the most anticipated tracks from TI’s upcoming album “No Mercy”, which hits stores on December 7, has leaked onto the internet. The rapper’s song is actually a duet featuring Christina Aguilera called “Castle Walls” and it seems that it will serve as the new single from TI’s seventh LP and the follow up to “Get Back Up” featuring Chris Brown. I absolutely love “Castle Walls” with the stripped back chorus that sounds so vulnerable in the middle of the harsh rap. Christina killed it with this one. I think we might be seeing the 29-year old singer back on top of the charts with this one. Maybe she could do a part 2 of this much like Rihanna has done with “Love the Way You Lie”.

Singer Michael Bublé has revealed that he is getting married next April. The 35-year-old Grammy Award-winning star announced on US TV show today that he and fiancée Luisana Lopilato are planning to tie the knot on 6 April next year. Bublé told The Today Show that he had originally planned to marry on 29 April, but then discovered that Prince William and Kate Middleton had picked the same date. He joked: “I was going to do it on the 29th, but figured I wouldn’t get any press.” Bublé has previously been engaged to British actress Emily Blunt, who headed up the aisle with actor John Krasinski earlier this year.
