Ryan Murphy’s people went to ask Kings of Leon if they could use one of their songs on the hit TV show ‘Glee’. While the show is a huge hit, the band claims that they’ve never watched it nor heard of it before so they decided to turn down the offer based off of nothing more than their ignorance. Months later, they are still talking about the offer with guitarist Matthew Followill recently saying “Everyone took it so seriously when we said no to Glee because it’s everyone’s favorite show. But we just had never really seen the show, we didn’t know what it’s about. They just said, ‘Hey, do you want your music to be on Glee,’ and we said, ‘No, I don’t think so. We don’t want to.’” I think the question now is if they want to do it if they get asked again.
Country cuties Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are both up for three CMT Music Awards each! The singers are actually tied for the lead in nominations with Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum. Other nominees this year include Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Tim McGraw. The CMT Music Awards, which will be hosted by Kid Rock, will take place on June 9. Fans can vote at vote.CMT.com to help determine the winners. Who do you think will rake in the top awards? Taylor and Carrie have been battling it out for a while now. Grave robbers have hit the burial site where Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was laid to rest back in May and took two cherished statues. Due to this horrible crime, the rest of the rock band is on a mission to get the stuff back. The remaining band members posted a message on their website saying “There were statues of a gargoyle as well as a Buddha that were placed at Paul’s grave by his friends and family that were taken. We ask that whoever did this, please return the items no questions asked. If anyone has any information about the stolen items please let us know.”

Well, not exactly caroling, but it does look like her tastes are shifting toward Christmas songs. Jessica Simpson recently released a track called “My Only Wish” which will be featured on her upcoming collection of similarly-themed songs: “Happy Christmas…” Basically Jessica Simpson’s song is that typical love song for the holidays, nothing really stands out here: not the lyrics, not the music, not even the freaking rhythm. But, if you’re bored with the classic sounding classics and you want to hear them from another voice, you might try Jessica Simpson’s attempt. Who knows, there might be those out there who will like it.
Ke$ha released a new song called ‘Blow’. It’s another promo single that comes as part of an iTunes exclusive countdown to the release of the Ke$ha’ new EP ‘Cannibal’ which hits stores on November 22. With this new release, Ke$ha already has six songs from the album, meaning there’s only three tracks left that we haven’t heard.

Pitbull recently premiered the music video for “Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor)’. The song is the official lead single from the rapper’s upcoming album ‘Planet Pit’ which is set to hit stores on December 14th. The song was produced by French electro-house producer Sandy Vee and also features auto-tune king T-Pain. It’s the type of song that grows on you the more you hear it but I’m sad that Pitbull is going in a new direction with his music and decided to drop the Latin flavor that made me love him in the first place. As for the video, it’s just like any club-themed video with Pitbull and T-Pain having a great time.

Bret Michaels has denied having an affair with Miley Cyrus’ mother, Tish. The Poison rocker was the victim of gossips when Tish Cyrus and husband, Achy Breaky Heart singer Billy Ray Cyrus announced they were splitting up after 17 years of marriage. But Michaels insists he has been friends with the couple “forever” and said there was no truth to the claims. He said: “The answer is no. “It started out with me and Miley simply working on a song together. “Her mum, Tish, likes [Poison hit] Every Rose Has Its Thorn, the first concert Miley ever saw was Poison, and so they wanted to remake it for the new record. “When I was in the studio, Miley came in and sang on my song, a song I wrote for my album Custom Built, and she came over and sang on that and honestly, she did a beautiful job, and that was it.” He told US television’s Fox & Friends: “Then they started with all the controversy.” Michaels, 47, also talked about his recent health woes – including a brain haemorrhage that almost killed him, saying the pain was something he had “never felt” before in his life. “It was the most painful thing you will ever experience,” he told the TV show.

This is what Nicole Scherzinger said on the matter: “Have we discussed marriage? Everything in its time. I’m focused on my career now.” Nicole Scherzinger seems to have been focused on her career forever now, but that’s probably just because being a pop star never seems to end. However she may eventually end up sacrificing everything for her career while Lewis Hamilton settles down in a quiet little British village.

The singer has just released a new video for her hit song “Sun of a Gun”. What strikes you first about this one is the rather unusual setting which probably wants to be a rip-off of the US government’s rip-off of the moon… with a lot of lights. Then comes Oh Land dancing and singing to this unusual pop-ish song with a few electro elements. And that’s pretty much the whole clip. The moon is revealed to actually be snow or something of the sort when Oh Land interacts with it and the song has a mild crescendo but basically keeps up the same pace as its singer dances. So if you’re into pop with a hint of the unconventional, then this video deserves a try.
While talking to 96.1 Kiss FM, former President Bill Clinton offered support from Lil Wayne, who recently got released from prison. The politician said “My daughter introduced me to rap and hip-hop music, after I said some things she thought were not very smart. She said, ‘Dad you need to listen, a lot of these people are smart.’ This guy’s (Lil Wayne) smart and he’s got ability and he’s got a new chance now… A lot of these people (rappers) they don’t get successful… by being really dumb, they’re really smart. But a lot of them have had really tough lives and they almost think its cool to get in trouble every now and then or they don’t know how to stay out. What I hope will happen is that he has a good life now.”

Slash and his wife Perla Ferrar have recently reconciled after initially filing for divorce. Now, the rock star has filed for a dismissal of his divorce in LA County Superior Court. Hopefully, the court will sign off on the dismissal. If both of them want to be back in the marriage, I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t get a second chance to make things work. I wish them both the best of luck and I hope things will be sweeter for them this time around. They should learn not to rush into making any decisions so no one has to be troubled with this kind of thing again.

Miley Cyrus’s father Billy Ray is divorcing her mother after allegedly having a steamy affair with rocker Bret Michaels, according to US reports. US Weekly Magazine claims 43-year-old Tish became romantically involved with the Poison frontman after being married to the Achy Breaky Heart singer for 17 years. And 49-year-old Billy Ray reportedly filed for an official split on October 27 after finding out about her alleged cheating. Michaels, 47, had become “close to the entire family” back in February when he and Miley released the racy duet Nothing To Lose. But he and the teenager’s glamorous blonde mum then supposedly engaged in an extra-marital affair, a source told the magazine. Tish was seen at Michaels’ Los Angeles show back in February 28, and he had once reportedly asked her production company’s help to adapt his book Roses & Thorns into a movie. “Billy Ray was completely unaware of what was going on,” said the source. The crooner is now reported to be seeking joint custody of their three children, Miley, who turns 18 later this month, 16-year-old Braison, and Noah, 10. A rep for Michaels has denied the affair allegation, telling Us Weekly, “There has never been an affair or a fling.”

University of South Carolina sociology professor Mathieu Deflem will be teaching a course next semester with the following title – ‘Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame’. How amazing is that? The princess of pop has not only reached world domination, but people are about to study her too. An excerpt from the course description says that “The central objective is to unravel some of the sociologically relevant dimensions of the fame of Lady Gaga.” As for whether the infamous singer will make a guest appearance, the professor said “I will get the word out to her that I’m doing the course. But it might be logistically too difficult for her to come because she will be on tour for most of the spring semester.” For her little monsters, Lady Gaga will do anything, so there’s still a possibility that she will be there.

There’s just no stopping these guys… will.i.am is a freaking magician when it comes to plagiarism. The Black Eyed Peas are once again being sued for plagiarism, this time by Bryan Pringle who says that the group plagiarized his song “Take a Drive” for their big hit “I Gotta Feeling”. His lawyer had this to say on the matter: “A simple listening of the two songs will tell you that the songs are substantially similar, and that the hooks of the two songs are virtually identical in rhythm and lyrics.” Well, this is not the first time The Black Eyed Peas are being called to answer for their lack of creativity. But it’s no big deal for them, a settlement and that’s that. They probably make more money off the track than the original artist ever dreamed of… they can probably spare a few crumbs from their big table for the poor sap too. And so the industry works!
