It has been reported that Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus have filed for divorce. After 17 years of marriage, Miley Cyrus’ parents filed the legal documents in a Tennessee court earlier this week, citing irreconcilable differences. Billy Ray and Tish released a joint statement on the matter, saying “As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family. We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.” It’s sad to hear the end of another marriage. After 17 years, I thought they would have made it through the end. I hope things don’t get ugly in that divorce.

I’m going to continue to make great dance videos and just be me.” Maybe he caught wind of that little story of Rihanna’s and realized that she’s still not over him. Well, it wasn’t exactly Halloween they were aiming for, but given their choice as the main focus of their latest episode and the time of year, there definitely is a connection there. Apparently “The Rocky Horror Glee Show” wasn’t as much of a hit as probably most of the fans would’ve expected it given the extra week of waiting for it. Still, it did get some good reviews… but also a some bad ones. Todd VanDerWerff from The A. V. Club apparently gave the episode an F and called it “the worst hour this show has ever produced” so he’s probably the authority to trust on this one. But then again, Glee probably got better ratings this time around due to the prolonged way so, all in all, they probably did their job… at least for the week.
Being one half of a celebrity couple is “not easy” Liam Hemsworth says. The Australian actor and Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus started dating in mid-2009 after meeting on the set of their movie The Last Song. Hemswoth, 20, has opened up about the pressure he faces due to his high-profile romance, admitting to Heat, “It’s not easy. I’m not complaining.” Skipping any media reports about himself and spending time in his home country helped him stay down to earth, he said. “I don’t read the tabloids and coming back to Australia keeps me grounded,” Hemsworth explained. “It’s important to keep my family and good friends close.”

This seems to be Madonna’s latest idea for doing something with her time and also making a profit from her name. The singer is planning on opening a chain of gyms that will bear the name Hard Candy Fitness. This is what her partner, Mark Mastrov, had to say on the matter: “Hard Candy Fitness will be a reflection of Madonna’s point of view and will reflect her input on every detail, including music space, light and design cues. Madonna touch will be everywhere.” Even though Madonna’s blessing would probably be enough to make the chain a hit among her subjects, not to mention her involvement in their design, it still isn’t a good idea to associate “candy” and “fitness” in the name.
Mariah Carey has found herself on top of the charts – granted it’s Billboard’s new Holiday Digital Songs chart but I’m still happy for her. The pop singer’s first single from her new Christmas album ‘Merry Christmas II You’ is the number 1 song on the new chart. Ironically, the number 2 song is her classic ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’. I don’t think any Christmas song will ever surpass that one in overall numbers but here’s hoping that the new album comes close. Congratulations to Mariah for finally getting another hit. It’s been a while hasn’t it? I bet she’s happy.
Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill recently took a cheap dig at the band Arcade Fire in a recent interview. The rock star said “Now it’s cool to have 14 people in your band doing everything but contributing musically, running around with a helmet on your head, hitting it with a drumstick. You gotta look at what you’re in this for: the love of music? The fame? You can have all that if you’re smart and play your cards right and don’t become a dick.” He’s apparently talking about something that band member Richard Parry has done in various performances. I think the diss is unjustified. Arcade Fire has consistently put out great albums and seem completely committed to their music and fans. I can’t say the same about Kings of Leon who keeps complaining about their mainstream popularity.
Music boss Simon Cowell hit out at Elton John live on The X Factor after his comments about the show. Cowell, 51, spoke in retaliation to comments that the Rocket Man had earlier made about the acts on the show after he called them ‘boring’ and ‘brain crippling’. After contestant Rebecca Ferguson’s performance, Cowell said: “Elton John said in the papers… he said that these shows don’t produce stars. “Well Elton if you’re not watching, I’m going to send you this tape and you can take back what you said.” He also spoke to UK newspaper the Sunday Mirror and said: “The truth is Elton’s watching the show every week. “What he’s slightly missing the point on, and you always hear this resentment from bigger artists nowadays… they don’t like the fact that a show can make an artist. “I always say to these people who criticise – why don’t you spend some time with new artists. If Elton feels that strongly about it then my message to him is: ‘You show me how to do it’.”
While talking about her upcoming album ‘Speak Now’, Taylor Swift revealed that she will never stop taking material from her life and putting them into music. The country singer said “It sort of is what it is. I’ve had this formula for a long time that I’ve kind of applied to my music. If I continue to write music about my life and my life is always changing, then my music is always changing. And if I change that whole process of writing music, that entire process of writing songs in my bedroom about what I’m going through at that moment — because the only way I know how to understand pain or move past it is to write songs about it — if I change that, I’m really more changing a part of who I am. And I don’t really want to start doing that… It’s understandable [having reservations about dating her], but … I’ve never kept quiet the fact that I write songs about people. It’s like, this is album number three. You guys have had fair warning!”

A source also had this to add about the upcoming happy day: “They are very much keeping to Indian tradition. There will be feasting and dancing. I had surgery on my shoulder so they gave me pain pills which I kind of got hooked on.” Well, a little memory loss now and then isn’t such a bad thing. Maybe stuff happened during that time that Caleb Followill is better off forgetting. Hopefully he didn’t forget any of the music he was playing at the time. Eminem has come out to say that he was bullied so harshly as a child that his mother actually filed a lawsuit against the Detroit school system. The rapper’s history of being bullied started in elementary school when a bully split his lip open and knocked the wind out of him. Over time, Eminem suffered more beatings from the same bully. In his worst run-in, the bully hit Eminem in the face with a “snowball containing a heavy object or a piece of ice” and then proceeded to beat him up which resulted in a concussion and temporary loss of vision in one eye. Eminem has recently been speaking out against bullying in an effort to combat the trend of suicides resulting from anti-gay bullying in schools.

Taylor Momsen recently had an interview with Bullet Magazine where the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress and Pretty Reckless lead singer talked about her music career and life on the road. Amid growing speculation the couple will tie the knot in Jaipur, India in coming days, the funny man has stressed theirs will be a “normal” wedding. “I want to make our wedding just about me and her loving each other and we’re getting married in front of our friends and family and keeping it normal,” Brand said. “I’m trying to preserve and make it a beautiful thing. After inviting The 4Troops, a singing group of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, to join Jessica Simpson onstage for her PBS Christmas special in New York City this past Thursday, the vets ended up getting snubbed because of their wardrobe.
