Justin Bieber began shooting his latest video, “U Smile”, and posted on his Facebook account a few photos from the set. In one picture, 16 years-old singer is sitting behind a black piano while singing a song. In other two pictures he appear alongside Alfredo Flores, and the rest of the photos are made while he was filming. The song “U Smile” is part of his the second studio album” My World 2.0 “, released in March this year. Justin said about this song that it is the best which he has recorded so far.

Lea Michele recently had an interview where she got to talk about makeup, her stand out moment on ‘Glee’ and who would be a perfect addition to the hit Fox TV series. The actress said “Justin Timberlake would be the perfect Glee guest star: He sings, he dances, and he’s hilarious.” Producers are said to be saving the singer’s appearance and music for the much-anticipated Super Bowl episode. Lea also mentions how singing ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’ was her best moment on the show because it’s her favorite song and felt that it was a dream come true to get the chance to perform it.

Music legend David Bowie has taken to the Internet to deny reports that he has joined forces with Lady GaGa for a track on her next album.
Rumours started last week when an apparent ‘confirmation of recorded music’ document appeared online listing Bowie amongst the Poker Face singer’s collaborators, MTV News reported.
The legendary singer was made out to have teamed up with Gaga on a track called Vinyl.
But the ageing rocker took to his official website to reveal that the entire story was a cleverly devised hoax.
An official statement said, “The hoax was started by some bright spark or other with the above forgery. However, in a nutshell, the suggestion that David Bowie is producing and participating in the production of Lady GaGa’s next album is untrue and a hoax.”
Gaga has so far remained tight-lipped about her new album but it is expected to be released sometime next year.

With a recent hospitalization due to an attack, a cancelled tour and a painful limp, you would think that partying would be the farthest thing from Deryck Whibley’s mind. However, the Sum 41 lead singer was seen out and about in Hollywood last week. I guess his way of recovery is one filled with alcohol and being surrounded by attractive women. Hopefully the rest of his band is cool with the partying especially since they cancelled their spot on the Vans Warped Tour for Deryck to get better. Whatever is up, I’m still wishing the best for Deryck with his recovery.
Taylor Swift has managed to win multiple trophies from just about every music awards show I can think of and I’m beginning to think that the country singer can win just about anything. That was recently proven when the International Bowling Museum just inducted Taylor into the Hall of Fame. Steven Johnson, executive director of the BPAA, explains “In many ways, Taylor Swift perfectly represents the current face of bowling, especially as the sport enjoys unprecedented growth in popularity among youth, women and young adults.” The best part is that her honor was voted upon through an online poll, with 1.3 million votes for Taylor, followed closely behind by Justin Bieber.
Hipsters were able to rejoice last week with Arcade Fire taking over the top spot on the Billboard charts but their celebration with the indie band will have to get cut short as music industry experts say that Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ is making, for lack of a better term, big recovery back to the number one spot in its eighth week on the charts. Congratulations in advance go out to the rapper! It’s a well deserved spot. As for Arcade Fire, all hope is not lost. If they can maintain good sales, they have a chance at staying in the top 10 for a good while.
Joey Lawrence is planning to release some new music and he wants everyone to know about it. He said “It’s called ‘Stuck with Me’. It reminds of me of the theme of ‘Friends’. And I’m making a brand new record that will drop early next year. It is right there with the first Justin Timberlake CD. I haven’t done an album since 1997, but it sold six million copies and fans have always asked me for more. And I would not have waited this long and gone down this path again if I didn’t think we had something.” I’m not sure how the ‘Friends’ theme and Justin’s first CD have any relationship but whatever. I don’t think anyone even cares about Joey anyway.
Fantasia Barrino’s VH1 reality TV show ‘Fantasia for Real’ is set to premiere on September 19 but since the American Idol’s overdose, it is reportedly being reworked. A rep for the network said “[The] premiere episode will be changing. At this moment production hasn’t decided what will change, it’s too soon for us to speak to how these events will change her show creative but Fantasia is an open book so it’s going to play a part in our series somehow just can’t speak to how exactly.” It sounds interesting but I hope they don’t try to profit off of her personal woes. It might just drive the singer over the edge again.

RedOne, Lady Gaga’s frequent producer is launching a new record label called 2101 with Universal Records. His new label will launch with Mohombi, a 23-year old singer/songwriter. RedOne spoke about the up and coming artist saying “We are incredibly fortunate to be launching with an artist like Mohombi, who has so much potential. He is a powerhouse talent … writing, singing, performing, dancing … a true entertainer. Mohombi lifts my spirits and I believe he will elevate the world with his music.” With all the success that RedOne has garnered in the music industry, I have no doubt that he can bring out all of Mohombi’s potential.
Kanye West’s Twitter account is quickly becoming one of the biggest pages on the social networking site. But while the rapper may already have over half a million followers, he only had one person in the universe that he was following. At least that was the case last week. I went to check his page earlier this week only to find out that a big fat zero was hanging out on his page in the “following” section. I have to assume that Kanye decided to delete who he was following. If you remember, the random guy he chose to follow wasn’t exactly grateful for having to be the only one followed. I guess that’s why.

I have some great news for all you Van Halen fans. The band is currently in the studio recording an album of new music. Even bigger news is that this time around, they have their original lead singer David Lee Roth. The last time that David recorded with the band was on their best-selling 1983 release, ‘1984’. It’s been almost twenty years since Van Halen released a new studio album so you know that they’re going to make this one good. And if that wasn’t enough for you, the band is also gearing up for a reunion tour which should kick off around the same time the album is released in 2011.
The creator of Glee has revealed it was Britney Spears’ idea to make a guest appearance on the show.
Ryan Murphy said: “It’s a tribute to her and her music. It was her idea to come on and do a couple of fun ‘Where’s Waldo?’ moments – but instead of ‘Where’s Waldo?’ it’s ‘Where’s Britney?’ That was her idea.”
“I think Britney is going to be on the show, yes,” he told Access Hollywood.
“The episode is a tribute to her pop culture phenomenon over the past 10 years and her music. It’s very reverential. It’s full of love and admiration.”
Murphy also admitted he is keen to get teen heartthrob Justin Bieber on the show.

Weezer was recently the talk of Twitter world. The first big announcement regarding the band came from Brett Gurewitz, the head of independent label Epitaph, who tweeted “Rivers, Pat, Brian and Scott, Welcome to Epitaph homies! FT=W=.” Soon after that announcement, lead singer Rivers Cuomo tweeted “Hey, Weezer is happy to announce our signing to @epitaphrecs and release of new album ‘Hurley’ on Sept. 14.” Along with the band’s upcoming release, Epitaph will soon be releasing new albums from Bad Religion and Social Distortion as well. Weezer seems to be in great company over there. All that great music! I’m so excited!
Amy Winehouse and boyfriend Reg Traviss attended the opening of the new African-themed restaurant Shaka Zulu in Camden in north London last week, and as usual, the train wreck of a singer made a fool of herself. The restaurant’s special guest of honor, King of the Zulu Nation, monarch Goodwill Zwelithini, was in attendance to make a speech in front of 200 guests. Not only did Wino show up late and drunk, she kept interrupting the speech by making rude comments and making out with Reg in front of the king and his guests. Reg tried to keep Wino under control but after he failed, he decided to leave with her out the back door.
Mark Wahlberg was recently asked if there was any music artist around today who could convince him to “lay down a rap track with them” and bring out his talents as rapper Marky Mark again. The actor responded that “If Justin Bieber asks me, I’ll say yes. Only because my daughter loves him.” I wonder if the teen pop sensation is a fan of Mark. I think it would be absolutely funny if Justin did get to call Mark and asked him to rap on a new song. Mark would be a hero to his kids and would be a shame to himself.
Ne-Yo has admitted that he feels naked unless he’s wearing a hat. The singer is known for his huge collection of hats. He began to collect them after he started losing hair at a young age. “I wore my first hat to when I was very, very young. I was in high school. Like all men in my family I started to go bald at a very young age, and the children in school can be very cruel” said Ne-Yo. Ne-Yo debuted in 2006 with the album “In My Own Words, released under the Def Jam Recordings.
Miley Cyrus has filmed this weekend in Detroit, the video for “Who owns My Heart extracted from the singer’s third album,” Can not Be Tamed”. According to website E! Online, the singer and actress who is 17 years old, worked with the director Robert Hales, who has helped her make the video for the song giving the album title. The same site says that the song will be promoted only in Europe, and for the United States, Miley chose to release the song “Two More Lonely People”. Even if we do not have details about this video, it appears that it will continue to promote a more mature and sexy actress of “Hannah Montana.”

After five weeks at the top of the mountain, Eminem’s album ‘Recovery’ was beaten by rock band Avenged Sevenfold’s new release ‘Nightmare’. It was a close call though with the rapper coming in less than 4,000 units behind the rock stars on Nielsen Soundscan charts. I find it very cool for a rock band to make its way to the top of the charts especially in the world of such mainstream sounding music these days. I wonder if they’ll be able to hold strong to the number one spot for more than just one week. Congratulations to Avenged Sevenfold! And well done to Eminem for making it to five weeks.
Katy Perry, posing in a bra and panties, is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone. In the accompanying interview, the 25-year old pop singer talked about her religious and strict upbringing, thinking that she’d gotten her shot at stardom at 17, and her thoughts on blasphemy among other things. She opens up about going on Twitter to bash Lady Gaga and talked about blasphemy saying “I wrote that tweet because of a combination of things. I am sensitive to Russell taking the Lord’s name in vain and to Lady Gaga putting a rosary in her mouth. I think when you put sex and spirituality in the same bottle and shake it up, bad things happen. Yes, I said I kissed a girl. But I didn’t say I kissed a girl while f-ing a crucifix.”
