Lady Gaga?s Spinning Head

Ξ February 10th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Music |

Lady Gaga recently spoke to UK?s OK magazine about her meteoric success. The princess of pop said ?Sometimes I find my head spinning. Not because of alcohol, but because of my life.? Honestly, she?s got my head spinning too. At one point, nobody cared about the singer. The next, her name is on everybody?s lips. It?s not a bad thing though. I think Lady Gaga is absolutely amazing. I pretty much think that the music industry should give her an award for bringing music back to life. She?s made history in such a short amount of time by breaking sales records and charts records. Lady Gaga is love.

Helping Haiti single sells 200,000 copies in two days

Ξ February 10th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ New Single, News, Record Sale, Simon Cowell |

Helping Haiti, the single released by Simon Cowell and The Sun, has become the century’s fastest-selling charity single.

The British newspaper reported that it had sold 206,000 copies in two days.

Cowell selected the REM tune Everybody Hurts for the single, which the paper forecasts will hit number one in the charts this weekend.

Cowell masterminded the track on the request of Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who arranged for the VAT tax to be dropped on it.

Stars including Robbie Williams, Cheryl Cole and Susan Boyle have contributed to the song. Half the proceeds will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee and half to The Sun’s Helping Haiti Appeal.

Miley Cyrus? upcoming romance

Ξ February 9th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Miley Cyrus |

Unfortunately for her, it will be a directed one. The singer and kids star is now going to try her hand at a grown-up movie called ?The last song?, based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, much like the recently launched ?Dear John?. When the star of the latter, Amanda Seyfried, was asked what if Miley Cyrus? movie would also have been released this week-end she replied: “If ?The Last Song? was coming out the same weekend as ?Dear John?, we’d have to collaborate on some sort of sabotage mission.” Well, well, it looks like Miley Cyrus might be returning in full force. Either that or that?s just a little nudge from her future colleagues, a sort of welcome if you will.

Kanye West explains himself

Ξ February 9th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Kanye West |

It seems that some older reports about Kanye West demanding to be seated in first class on a plane were not true and moreover, they?ve really bummed him out. This is what Kanye West wrote on the matter on his personal blog: I feel bad that people believe this kind of stuff or any random rumor that is taken as fact because ‘it’s on the internet.’ This rumor is particularly ironic because I was actually happy with a business class seat and was offered a seat in first class. A friend of mine was sitting in coach so asked if they could bump him up to business instead of putting me in first. There was absolutely no altercation in any way. There’s been many a time where I’ve given someone in coach my business or first class seat in order to sit next to a friend I bumped into. I really could care less about where I sit on the plane. It’s hard to deal with the rumors sometimes. As a good person with a warm heart, it does bother me. I’m not bigger than feeling pain, embarrassment, stress and worry.? He should really try to make-up his mind: what will it be: not caring, or not being bigger than pain, embarrassment and so forth. Still, it?s good to see that Kanye West is still the same warm-hearted individual we all know and love.

Beyonce: Jay-Z was shocked when I thanked him as my husband at Grammys

Beyonce says Jay-Z was “shocked” when she thanked him as her husband at the Grammy Awards.

The couple have tried to keep their marriage top-secret, but collecting her sixth Grammy of the night, Beyonce said: ?I’d love to thank my family for all their love and support, including my husband.?

After her speech, rapper Jay-Z could be seen in the audience making gestures with his hands to the star.

?He was shocked!? Beyonce said of the speech. ?He was just like, ?What did you say?’ I was just like, ?What did I just do? No, I didn’t just say that.?

Beyonce said the speech was completely on the spur of the moment and unplanned.

?I was so happy, I could’ve said anything,? she said. ?That’s why I ran off the stage.?

American Idol Hopeful is a Phony

Ξ February 8th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ American Idol, reality show |

It seems that one high-pitched American Idol favorite is not who she appears to be ? at least when it comes to her accent. Nicci Nix has been on all sorts of reality shows before with a completely different voice. The wannabe singer has appeared on at least 4 other reality shows before she got to AI, including ?Fear Factor?, ?Next?, ?Making the Band? and ?Date My Mom?. When she appeared on ?Fear Factor?, not only did she go by another name but she claimed to be from California and talked without the slightest hint of an Italian accent. The accent wasn?t there either when she appeared on ?Making the Band?. Her voice sounded deeper then too.

Kelly Clarkson Responds to Bashing

Ξ February 8th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ American Idol, Blogger, Grammy Awards, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift |

Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta recently defended Taylor Swift?s Grammy performance as it has been on the receiving end of some criticism. The music exec blamed a technical difficulty but also said ?This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance.? The original AI champ, Kelly Clarkson, isn?t going to take that comment lying down and she wrote Scott an open letter on her blog in response to his comment. The singer said ?Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better. I have been criticized left and right for having shaky performances before and what my manager or label executives say to me and the public is ?I?ll kick butt next time? or ?every performance isn?t going to be perfect??I bring this up because you should take a lesson from these people and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your ?humble? opinion lack true artistry).?

Jason Mraz calls on Kanye West to support gay marriage

Ξ February 6th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Jason Mraz, Kanye West |

The singer recently spoke out about his support of gay marriage at the Grammy Awards and also called out others who have been toying with the idea to just go the distance. Jason Mraz had a very interesting message for Kanye West in respect of this idea: “Same as with Kanye ? I feel like he’s such a huge presence that if he really promotes it and says, ‘Listen, you need to do this,’ more people would rally for the cause. The more straight heavy-hitters speak up could really benefit the cause.” Go ahead? tell Kanye West he?s a big influence on people, like he didn?t already think enough of that by himself. Jason Mraz might have just set off a time bomb and it?s very unlikely that the explosion will benefit the cause much. Now it?s all up to Kanye West? hero extraordinaire!

Madonna parties with Jesus Luz AND Guy Ritchie

Ξ February 5th, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Madonna |

Madonna was spotted making out with rumoured ex Jesus Luz – before burying the hatchet with ex-husband Guy Ritchie at the same party, according to U.S. reports.

In what would have been a dizzying night for Madonna watchers, the Material Girl was said to have spent time with the two most important men in her recent life at the after-party for the London premiere for A Single Man on Monday night.

An insider insists Madge made out with Jesus – then made up with Guy, spending time chatting with her ex-husband to the amazement of onlookers.

The insiders said that her actions made it very clear she was still with Jesus – at least on Monday.

“They were all over each other and were even kissing in front of everyone,” said an insider who snuck into the afterparty in Harry’s Bar. They looked like they were still very much an item.”

The onlooker said Jesus left right before the party ended, but Madonna stayed until the venue closed.

“Tom Ford was there, and she looked like she wanted to talk to him before she left for the evening,” the source says.

“But there’s no doubt she and Jesus were at the party together.”

Cowell’s Idol nastiness takes DeGeneres aback

New American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres has revealed Simon Cowell is meaner than she realised.

DeGeneres has joined the panel of judges – that includes Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi – this year after Paula Abdul sensationally quit.

But after spending time filming the new series of the hit reality show, DeGeneres admits she finds it hard to listen to TV’s Mr Nasty crush people’s dreams.

She told US TV show Entertainment Tonight: “I had one idea of Simon when I came in, and it’s changed. He’s actually meaner than I thought. It’s hard to listen to him tell people things and me not to go: ‘You poor thing!’”

She says, however: “I’m getting good at delivering bad news, myself, but I’m trying to do it in a tender way. I hate hurting people’s feelings, so that, I think, is the hardest part. But I think we have good people. I’m going to fight very, very hard to keep the people that I believe in, so that we have a wide variety, somebody for everybody, I hope.”

DeGeneres will debut as a judge on the February 9 episode of the show while Cowell will exit the show at the end of this season.

Since splitting from her Formula One racing driver boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, Scherzinger has had more time to concentrate on her career and recently celebrated her new contract at a Hollywood party attended by stars including P?nelope Cruz.

Lady GaGa?s Grammy emotions

Ξ February 3rd, 2010 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga |

The singer who landed two Grammy awards this year recently admitted that she was driven to tears before performing with Elton John at the ceremony. This is what Lady GaGa related on the matter: “I’m just so happy, I can’t say enough and Elton was so amazing and the performance was really truly magical. I had been fantasizing about this performance piece for a while and we got to do it… and I’m just really truly floored. I ruined all of my make-up right before the show. Crying? I was just so happy.” Considering the type of look that Lady GaGa usually goes for, nobody probably even noticed that she had altered her make-up. It might have freaked Elton John out a bit, though.

Chart sensation Ke$ha wants to kiss “fat guys with beards” – and Susan Boyle.

The star says she is horrified at the reaction she got for knocking Boyle off the top of the US album charts.

“They act like I beat her up,” she complained.

She says of Boyle: “She’s sweet. I’d kiss her. Hasn’t she never kissed anybody before?”

But she insisted big men with beards are far more her type.

“I want to make out with the fat guy from ‘The Hangover’,” she said of Zach Galifianakis.

“He’s amazing… I like big, fat guys with beards that wear thick glasses.”
