Coldplay is on its way back. According to lead singer Chris Martin, the band hopes to release a new album in 2010 ? hopefully near Christmas. They are currently at work in their secret studio in London which is said to be a converted church. No tracks will end up getting leaked this time as Chris said ?There’s only two people in the whole building who know how to open all the recording files. Even we [Coldplay] don’t know how to do it. We couldn’t even steal our own music at the moment. You would have to be a computer genius and a great burglar to get into the building, and download it, and mix it.?
Crack is whack and now we know why. After a concert in Australia on Monday, fans walked out of Whitney Houston?s concert early declaring it a disappointment. It?s being rumored that the singer is in fragile health and although her reps deny the claims, there?s no arguing that she isn?t what she used to be. The former diva only sang two songs before she exited the stage to take a break. She appeared out of breath, coughed through songs and when she returned to sing through six more numbers, she handed the mic over to her brother Gary to sing. A concertgoer said ?She was not fit to perform. She seemed to be on another planet, and the concert was laughable. When the back up singer’s performance is the stand out for the night you know something is wrong.?
Simon Cowell has made a rare apology to an American Idol contestant who was booted from the show for a third time.
The acid-tongued judge said he regretted sending home down-on-her-luck contestant Angella Martin, who made it to the Hollywood round of the show three years in a row, only to be sent home.
Simon Cowell sent his apologies to her, saying that the judges got it wrong and she should have been in the top 24.
He said: “Angela, I apologise. I genuinely do, because I think you should have been in the top 24.”
Justin Bieber fever has spread to Europe as the pint-sized pop star was in Paris for a scheduled meet and greet with fans. However, the crowd got so large and out of control that the cops had to shut it down. Justin recovered from the hysteria long enough to go on Twitter to talk about what happened. The singer said ?PARIS IS CRAZY!!! Had some interviews this morning with mags and radio. got to practice my french a little. But then the instore there were thousands of kids at the instore and the police were not expecting it. they reorganized the crowd and we got it going but after a little while the police stopped it and came in and said it was over and i had to leave. Every first-grade act has to have somebody waiting in the shadows for them to make a mistake and take their place. In the case of the American Idol boys, that shadow is none other than Michael Lynche whose performance of ?This Love? by Maroon 5 didn?t really quite cut the bill. The fabled Earl of Exigency made a very scathing comment on Michael Lynche?s performance: “You were like the support act before the main act. You delivered so little on that performance.” Randy Jackson however supports Michael Lynche and so does Ellen DeGeneres? after all, Simon Cowell does seem to be wholly against him so the poor guy needs all the support he can get. Michael Lynche?s performance may not have been astounding, but at least he gets to sit in the dark corner and just way for Casey James? first mishap.
Fantasia Barrino may have a stalker as the American Idol champ, who is currently starring in ?The Color Purple? at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles, received a hate-filled letter last week from someone who claims to have been a security guard on Fox when the singer was still on AI. The letter included numerous racial slurs and even said ?go back to where you came from and die?. What the heck? Fantasia has wisely beefed up her security in response to the letter and has told the media that she ?will not be defeated by one isolated person?s hatred.?
After being convicted for gun possession and even though he is still serving time in Georgia, T.I. has decided to make a public appearance with his fianc?e Tameka Cottle at her Alzheimer?s research fundraiser. A good way for T.I. to score some extra good behavior points, no doubt. Also, his manager seems to be very excited about T.I.?s upcoming projects which include a new album and a movie: “He’s sounding beautiful. His spirit is really good. He’s got the eye of the tiger. There’s no theme as of yet. The sound is definitely not a bunch of samples.” Interesting how busy T.I. has been since being convicted. He probably has too much free time on his hands and thought it best to at least use it for another record.
News came out last week that a contestant who made the Top 24 on American Idol was given the boot because he was supposedly ineligible to participate. Information has come out that Chris Golightly got shafted! The reality TV competition show?s producers received an email shortly after it was announced that the aspiring singer made the Top 24 from his manager saying that he was under contract with another studio, thus his disqualification. The thing is, Chris isn?t under contract as the deal was terminated a month before he auditioned for AI. His manager called the very same day to clear up the mix up but a new contestant had been chosen to replace him by then.
Jay-Z is in the middle of some crazy crap because security at is Brit Awards after party reportedly banned white people from going in the VIP area. Britain?s Daily Star music reporter Kim Dawson said ?I’ve been to countless showbiz bashes but never have I met meatheads like those at the Jay-Z do (party). Jay-Z is a megastar and yet it was clear white people were not welcome in his VIP area. While the red rope was lifted for black guests to breeze through, let’s just say it stayed down if your face didn’t fit. I have never felt so intimidated. It left me feeling like a mauled dog.? The rapper?s reps are reportedly claiming that security was hired by the club but the club owners were unaware of any issues.

Timberlake’s mother Lynn Harless gave her clear seal of approval to actress Biel, calling her “one of us” as the pair chatted affectionately backstage at the singer’s fashion show in New York.

This past Tuesday?s free Alexisonfire concert at Yaletown LiveCity surrounding the Olympics in Vancouver came to a halt after fans knocked over a barricade bordering the stage. 9 people were taken to the hospital and 20 were injured in the incident. On concertgoer suffered a compound leg fracture while fans pushed forward and knocked the fence over. The band had only been playing for 10 seconds when the riot took place. Guitarist and singer Wade MacNeil said ?We were all so excited that you completely decimated the whole barrier. The reality of the situation is that it’s completely destroyed and it’s really dangerous and there’s an incredible amount of sharp objects up here and a lot of people got hurt when that happened.? The show was cancelled but reports are saying that another gig will take place to make up for it.

A Los Angeles judge ordered the R&B singer?s dad/manager to pay $8200 a month dating back until February 1 as well as 100 percent of uninsured medical costs. I have this gut feeling that he is the dad of the newborn. Not only has Mathew not denied it but he also gave Alexsandra $10,000 back in January to cover other pregnancy costs. That should pretty much count as an admission that the kid is his.

Simon Cowell’s charity record for Haiti is on schedule to hit the top spot in the charts for a second week.
The single, which features the voices of stars such as Susan Boyle, Rod Stewart, Cheryl Cole and Mariah Carey, has already sold 43,000 copies this week, just days after hitting number one in the UK.
Proceeds from the record, which is a cover of the REM hit Everybody Hurts, are being split between the Disasters Emergency Committee and the Helping Haiti Appeal.
Cowell, 50, put the record together with help from the UK newspaper The Sun and got a variety of celebrities to help out and lend their vocals.

A voicemail tape allegedly recorded from the phone of Conrad Murray on the morning of Michael Jackson’s death surfaced over the weekend.
The fleeting 18-second recording is alleged to be that of Murray informing a patient of a cardiac-related diagnosis. News Of The World reports the voice tape, which has the time stamp of 11.54am, a time when Murray was alleged to be giving Jackson CPR, has the potential to clear the doctor of his involuntary manslaughter charge.
In the tape, Murray says calmly: “This is Doctor Murray, Bob. Hi, how are you? Um, sorry I missed you. Just wanted to talk to you about your results of the EECP. You did quite well on the study. We would love to continue to see you as a patient even though I may have to be absent from my practice for, uh, because of an overseas sabbatical.”
The tape, however, could be open to several interpretations that go beyond media reporting at this time. Jackson, according to police records, was discovered to have stopped breathing by Murray at 11am after an IV dose of Propofol. Jackson, 50, who died on June 25, 2009, used the drug, an anaesthetic, to sleep. His death was declared a homicide by Los Angeles authorities. Murray, who is out on $75,000 bail, must appear before court on April 5 for an evidentiary hearing.
Prepare to be warped back to 2002 because The Strokes are finally making some new music. Drummer Fab Moretti says that the band is currently in the recording studio laying down tracks for their fourth album with a release ?hopefully around September?. The rock star said ?We’ve been recording a bunch ? basic tracks are done. Now we’re just running around like kids in a candy shop.? Is anyone ready for The Strokes to be back? I wonder what took them so long anyway. Do they even still have fans around? To be honest, I don?t even remember what they sounded like.
Ellen DeGeneres has upheld her American Idol stint.
The entertainment world put the performance of the incoming judge under the microscope – and endlessly explored her “chemistry” with British man-bitch Simon Cowell. Programs like Barbara Walters’s The View analysed the on-screen gelling – or not – of the pair, with some observers saying it was too soon to tell how they got along.
Appearing on her own show, DeGeneres gave herself a tick: “I was honest with [the singers]. I was concerned going into it I would be tiptoeing around too much, but I wasn’t.”
DeGeneres received a congratulatory message on Twitter from Simon Fuller, the show’s creator, and another from her wife Portia de Rossi. “Well, she loves me no matter what,” she said.
The chemistry issue may become a little moot since Cowell is moving on from Idol to focus on his US export of The X-Factor. DeGeneres for her part has signed on for three more seasons of the Ellen show, taking her up to 2014.
She said: “Everyone is anxious to see how Simon and I are going to be together and, you know, I am too. I know how we were for Hollywood Week, and I know there were good days and bad days. But I don’t know how we’re going to be on live TV. That’s going to be an interesting thing.”

The song is from Alicia?s latest album ?The Element of Freedom?. Speaking of Beyonce, the R&B singer is also rumored to star in the remake of the classic ?A Star is Born?. Russell Crowe may play the aging, alcoholic musician who mentors and falls in love with Beyonce?s character. I?m all for the classics but I?m not sure about the remake of that movie. Beyonce is definitely no Barbra Streisand.
Lil Wayne is the luckiest guy on earth ? sort of. The rapper was scheduled to be formally sentenced to a year in prison earlier this week for illegally being in possession of a loaded gun. However, due t his ridiculous grill and the surgery it will need to get fixed, Lil Wayne was granted an extension. His oral surgery is scheduled for Friday, but he won?t have to face the judge again until March 2. I think that?s pretty ridiculous. If he?s gone that long with his teeth looking like gum wrappers, he can serve his time in prison with it too.
In a fascinating development, it has emerged that Conrad Murray may appear in court before a black-dominated downtown LA jury.
But one of Murray’s lawyers, J. Michael Flanagan of Glendale, told TMZ the possibility did not worry him. He said Murray had been just as much of an “inspiration” as Michael Jackson, one of history’s most successful black musicians.
“Dr Murray is as much of an inspiration as Michael Jackson was,” Flanagan said.
The veteran attorney also said the doctor accused of manslaughter in the homicide death of Jackson last year was a man of “humble means who became very successful” and that a jury would appreciate as much.
Murray, who pleaded not guilty, faces an evidentiary hearing on April 5 in Los Angeles.
Kanye West is being serious with his latest blog post. I can tell because the rapper didn?t type in all caps and I could actually read it. He seems a little bummed that people believe a story that he demanded to be seated in first class and has taken to his official blog to complain. Kanye said ?I feel bad that people believe this kind of stuff or any random rumor that is taken as fact because ‘it’s on the internet.’ This rumor is particularly ironic because I was actually happy with a business class seat and was offered a seat in first class. A friend of mine was sitting in coach so asked if they could bump him up to business instead of putting me in first. There was absolutely no altercation in any way? I really could care less about where I sit on the plane? As a good person with a warm heart, it does bother me?
