Good Charlotte has decided that they are worth crap and they need to start over. The band has announced that they have decided to scrap their new album before it has ever been heard by their fans and plan to return to the studio to record some new music. The tough call came from Benji Madden who was unhappy with the sound, which now finds the band in Vancouver to start fresh. In a message posted on the band?s website, Benji was apparently afraid that the rest of his band would think he was crazy but everyone agreed that the sound just wasn?t right and they needed to do something new. I just hope it?s worth all the time and money.
Sources are saying that the Hope for Haiti compilation album is likely to take the number one spot on the HITS sales chart this week. That would give the album a place in history as it would be the first all digital album to hit the top spot. It?s already reached the top spot in iTunes. The numbers are expected to easily reach over 100,000 but it?s uncertain by how much. For me, that margin really isn?t important as each sale made means that you also help save a life in Haiti. So please, buy the album and share some goodness to the rest of the world. It?s for a great cause.
Men who wear their trousers as high as Simon Cowell are just showing signs that they are getting older.
The 50-year-old X-Factor and American Idol judge is well known for his love of trousers with a high waistband.
British department store Debenhams claims that while teenagers like their waist lines low, older men choose trousers with a much-higher waistband.
According to research, an average man’s trousers are just seven inches from his armpit when he turns 57.
Debenhams spokesman Paul Baldwin said: “Our findings are very important because the position of the waistband determines how men’s trousers are tailored.”
It?s not that the piece is particularly emotional, it might be, but it apparently literally is about breaking hearts. Apparently LeAnn Rimes recently wrote a song about just that because she is upset at how she treated her former husband. The lyrics to LeAnn Rimes? new song go as follows: “What have I done? I broke the heart of the sweetest man. What have I done? I broke the heart of the only man who’s ever loved me. Who have I become? I hope you find someone new, someone who deserves you.” Very touching? but LeAnn Rimes is apparently already in a relationship with a co-star of hers. What does that poor man think about her considering her former husband to have been the one and only and admitting to treating him like crap? LeAnn Rimes isn?t really giving herself any good credentials.
There seems to be a real shortage of originality in rap music these days? so much so that artists have started borrowing music from each other, without first asking permission. That?s all fine and dandy until somebody gets caught. Hence T.I.?s presently delicate situation. One of his fellow rappers, Motoe Blizzid, is suing T.I. because he believes that ?What you know? contains way too many similarities to his ?Reverence? track. He?s not asking for much? just the profits from T.I.?s single? plus damages. Probably not the best thing for T.I. Didn?t they teach him to cover his tracks better at music school?
Steven Tyler went to Palm Desert karaoke bar after he got released from rehab. Though Aerosmith has announced that their lead singer won?t be performing with the band for the time being, no one ever said that he couldn?t sing some of their music by himself. Steven showed up and sang the hit ?I Don?t Want to Miss a Thing? after two other drunks got booed off with their versions of the song. The place went nuts for Steven and the DJ recalls it being an unforgettable moment. People in the audience also said that Steven was very gracious and kind.
Being an internet sensation must be a rough gig. If you don?t know what ?Pants on the Ground? is, then you probably don?t watch American Idol and haven?t gone on the internet within the past two weeks. It seems that the last info on Kings of Leon getting a new and unique deal with Warner Brothers Records was a bit inaccurate. The band has recently come out and stated that there is no other deal and that they are keeping true to Columbia Records. This is what the guys from Kings of Leon said on the matter: “Consider the source. Kings of Leon have always had and continue to have a great relationship with their label.” It?s probably true though? what band would actually want to pay for their own recording, anyway? Nasty stuff? the way the labels can control them these days, that?s good. Why would Kings of Leon ever even want to change that?
It seems the band has suddenly cancelled their Asian tour without any real explanations. There is only a very straightforward statement of The Killers? official site that reads as follows: ?The Killers have been forced to cancel their appearances in Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo and Seoul due to unforeseen circumstances. The band deeply apologizes to their fans and hope to reschedule their shows in these cities soon. At this time the bands Australian appearances remain scheduled as planned.? Maybe the band found out something they didn?t like about the cities they were supposed to visit? Or maybe The Killers don?t think that videotaping any of their Asian appearances is worth a DVD so why go there anyway. ?Unforeseen circumstances? can mean so many things.
It has been 25 years since ?We are the World? was released and Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are planning to record an anniversary edition of the song to benefit the victims of the Haiti earthquake. They already planned to perform on January 28 as part of the anniversary celebration but when the tragedy struck in Haiti, the project formed into a fundraiser for the country. Usher, John Legend and Natalie Cole have been invited and more performers are expected to join. A music video will accompany the new version as well. The original song featured Lionel, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Joel and many others.
Rihanna performed a cover of Bob Marley?s ?Redemption Song? on Oprah this past Wednesday. The whole show was done for the benefit of the victims of the Haiti earthquake. The song is currently available on iTunes and all proceeds made in the sale of the song will help all of the victims of the unfortunate tragedy. Rihanna will be performing the song again from London later tonight on the Hope for Haiti telethon. Again, I urge all of you reading this to give what you can for our neighbors in Haiti. However little you may give may end up actually saving a life.

Simon Cowell will be making a single in which he will gather of bunch of famous voices from around the globe in order to raise money for Haiti. This is what Simon Cowell said on the matter: “It’s very, very short notice. We made the decision today, so I’ve got to get it all together in about 48 hours. It’s going to feature as many people as possible. I haven’t made up my mind on the song yet, I’ve got a couple of ideas. It will be a cover version, yeah.” Why donate yourself when you can make others do it for you? and maybe gather up a little extra for the effort. And if anybody can do that, then it?s most definitely Simon Cowell.
Britney Spears has faced a difficult transition after spending a year away from the US on tour.
The divorced mother of two is reportedly spending a lot of time at the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles, just a short drive from her home.
Spears’s mega-world tour was clouded by accusations of shrifting ticketholders in Australia with a lip-synched show. But the singer was playing in the immediate wake of a marathon tour by Pink, who had the heart of the nation behind her.
Spears takes her young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to stay at the hotel for days at a time, according to the Sun newspaper.
A source said: “She’s no reason to be here. Last time she had staff running around after her kids as they both caught flu and she had no medicine for them. She uses the gym, is waited on and she uses the babysitting service.”
The hotel with its cocoon of luxury and staff may fill in lonely gaps for Spears and provide a transition for her boys, who were often in different countries with her.
La Toya Jackson has apparently become so delusional that she thinks she is qualified to take over for Simon Cowell on American Idol. She has apparently put the offer out there and is hoping that the AI execs would jump all over it. Take a place in line honey because you and every other D-list actor, singer, record producer, mime and Jackson in Hollywood wants to take over for the snarky judge. William Hung has a bigger chance of getting picked for this job than you so don?t hold your breath. None of us even know if they will get another judge or just stick to the original three-judge panel.

Apparently due to talks of his age catching up with him and his hair going grey, Robbie Williams has decided it would be a good time to experiment with some new hair colors, just to see what would suit him better. He also seems to have found an interesting way to do this: he got his dogs to sit on top of his head in order to see the chromatic effect. It seems that the fever of charity for the disaster that struck Haiti recently is gripping everyone. Lady GaGa is the latest to be added to the list as she has promised that all of the proceeds from her next New York show will go to Haiti. Lady GaGa tweeted the following for all her fans who will be attending: “Save your money. Help save a life.” It?s getting so as a nation could actually build an economy out of a natural disaster if this keeps up. Interesting that Lady GaGa chose the New York crowd for this? but why just one concert? There surely is much more where that came from.
American Idol boss Simon Fuller is fuming at Simon Cowell for quitting a $163million deal to launch his own The X Factor venture in the US.
Fuller, a UK mogul in whose footsteps Cowell followed, called The British X Factor wrestling, the UK Mirror reports. Fuller said Idol would weather the storm out of a “boxing type” purity, staying above the fray and true to a mission to find talented singers. “I want Idol to be purely about talent. We’re not going to be led into the mud, we’re going to stay on our hill,” he said.
It was strong language for Cowell, who is poised to launch a megaventure to take his vehicle to Vegas with Topshop boss Sir Philip Green. The new show would kick off in 2011 with Cheryl Cole a hopeful addition.
Fuller appeared to snipe with envy when he added: ?The Susan Boyle phenomenon is not based on anything but the bizarre. I have integrity about music and believe talent that comes out of Idol is legitimate.”
One insider said: “Fuller has got brains and instinct but has the personality of a wet weekend in Hastings – Cowell has the lot.”

Next on the list would have been Victoria Beckham for one of the judge?s seats, but the former Spice Girl apparently turned Simon Cowell down more or less. This is what a source related about Victoria Beckham?s refusal: “Victoria told Simon she needs time to think about it as she is so busy with her fashion work right now. Looking at her hectic schedule, some of the dates mooted could be problematic as David is away, so she wants to work from home and look after the kids. Simon is incredibly charming so who knows. they did have a long conversation and although Victoria thinks he will be too manic to commit, she loved her time on the Idol panel.” Well, that?s what you get when you ask a working mom to dedicate herself to a career. But Simon Cowell is probably going to find a way? he always does.

It hasn?t even been a week since Simon Cowell announced his departure from American Idol and people are already speculating about who should take his place. The latest rumor to come out from the reality TV talent show?s set is that Elton John could be taking over for Simon. I like this idea way better than Ryan Seacrest pulling double duty. Plus, the iconic singer has some experience as he sat in as a guest judge back in season 3. However, Elton?s camp was quick to squash the rumor saying that the musician is way too busy to be able to commit to such a deal.
